Battery life
Posted Feb 26, 2005 - I have been a x86 user for 15 years, and have a faster Mhz x86 machine sitting next to this Mac. I don't want to use my x86 anymore. The Mac is just smooth, sleek, friendly. Macs do crash...just usually not fatally (requiring a hard/reboot). If you receive an error message be prepared to scratch your head at the lack of clarity/missing description. It took me the better part of a half hour to figure out that I had to put a '$' in front of my WEP key to access my wireless network. Backlit keyboard, and monitor that automatically adjust to lighting conditions, built in microphone recorder / controller are slick features. Easy to hook up my DV camcorder, digital cameras, and other peripherals. iLife comes with the new Macs, and includes a great program for family DV editing, and simple photo editing. My x86 work laptop can accept multiple batteries simultaneously so hot swapping batteries without shutting down / plugging in is a breeze, but this adds to the x86s weight and size. Expect about 3 hours of battery life. Me likey...no more x86ey. Do not purchase unless willing to cut your x86 ties out of jealousy.
