Nice 12'' notebook

Strengths: fast, small, sturdy

Weakness: hot

I have used this x61 for 1 month, and there's no problem so far. The 2.0GHz CPU runs very smooth, and the 120GB hard drive is more than sufficient for me. The memory, however, is not enough for vista business. It's not a major problem though as the memory price is so low these days. The machine runs a bit hot, and I fixed the problem by using a notebook cooler.

Ultraportable laptop, a long lasting smart choice

Strengths: Ultra compact design, light weight; very long battery life if use 6 cell battery; remarkable full-size keyboard design; robust with titanium alloy laptop cover

Weakness: Dark diffusive non-wide screen; doesn't come with dvd-rom, needs dock or external connection; bad fan design, hot and not very quiet

I used to use IBM X31 before this one for more than 3 years which lends me enough confidence to choose Lenovo X series again, its remarkable design makes high performance and ultraportable a possibility, ideal choice for everyday carrying.

This one is even thinner and lighter than X31, and much better battery time. The fingerprint located besides the mouse button, very considerate design. Following its precursor, acute red-point mouse and full-size keyboard is its unique character, once I got accustomed to the red-point, I can no longer tolerate touch pad any more. Mean while its full size keyboard makes me very comfortable especially for those function keys. Its titanium cover is very light and strong, which protect the laptop very well from crashing or dropping.

The only thing I don't like so much is its screen, I expect to use a widescreen, a specular but not diffusive screen. Of course, somebody prefers diffusive screen because of its advantage of no reflection, but I think specular screen looks more vivid and bright.

Don't ever think about other laptops!

Strengths: best built laptop, fast Intel Core 2 Duo, ultra portability

Weakness: none

Thinkpad makes me never think about any other laptops anymore. It comes with a fast cpu and a big hard drive and weighs under 3 Lbs. Although it does not have a dvd drive, who cares if 1 lb can be dropped. I don't use a dvd drive more than once a year! It is truly a 5-star laptop!
