750MHz Intel Pentium III , 256MB, 20GB, Windows XP, 12.1' TFT - MPN: PP200U0000G9
Strengths: fast, reasonably durable, heavenly light, even with the extra battery, easy to use anywhere, (even while walking), fast (at least for me), great 3 year warrenty :)
Weakness: some technical difficulties, the plasma screen cracked once, a few parts were badly designed and one small unimportant piece has snapped off, no internal cd, dvd, or floppy drives :(
I am currently a student, and I have found this computer perfect for my needs. It is amazingly light, it is fast (at least fast enough for me). I use it in my school and I love being able to walk throught the halls with it! it is a great product and I hope it lasts me many years!

Toshiba Portege 2000
Strengths: Lightweight, small, long battery life, many battery conservation modes
Weakness: small - awkward keyboard, no cd drive (but that's why it's so small), wireless network antenna weaker than competitors
I have been using this computer daily for the past 4 months. I absolutely love it. I wanted a laptop, but I didn't want to lug a laptop around with me everywhere. I don't notice the 3 lbs extra in my bag on my commute. It's the size of a notebook pad, so it easily travels. If you want a small laptop, this is a great consideration. The screen is only 12", so I'm stuck to 1024x768, but the size / weight tradeoff is well worth it for me. It does support dual monitors, which is nice in presentations. I often get comments on it's sleek appearance when I'm in public. There's no room for a CD player or floppies. I transfer everything over my wireless network, so that's not a problem for me.
