5 Star Review Combination of excellent individual tools!

Strengths:

Powerful and very user friendly.

Weaknesses:

Drill a bit heavy.

Posted Sep 13, 2007 - Milwaukee's V28's little brother has a lot going for it! Hammer Driver/Drill: Definitely the star of the combo kit! Powerful performance (550 in./lbs. of torque). Solid design, comfortable rubber molded handle aids operation, and rubberized trigger and convenient direction/lock-off switch add to ease of use. It is heavier than most 18-volt models though. Includes nice keyless chuck, 24 clutch settings, two speed ranges, and very well designed mode-change collar for three operating modes. Long bits can be stored on board. Reciprocating Saw: Cuts quickly and smoothly with a relatively low level of vibration. This is unquestionably a tough, effective saw, capable of most any job. Body design increases grip and control, large variable speed trigger fits naturally in hand. Top mounted thumb switch works very well to switch between two speed ranges or to lock trigger. The quick-locking, steel blade-clamp system makes for fast and easy tool-free blade changing. Circular Saw: Smooth, powerful and well balanced. Nice rubber overmold on handles and well placed lock-off switch and trigger. Bevel adjustment works well, but depth adjustment sometimes sticks. Well-designed shoe. Excellent blade brake. On board blade change wrench. Batteries and Charger: The tools and charger work with both Lithium-Ion and NiCad batteries. Batteries maintain full strength until power runs out. The fuel gauge on the batteries is especially helpful. Batteries fully charged in 1 hour. Work Light: Nice swivel head with a bright bulb. Carrying Case: Hard molded plastic with exact fit for tools, batteries and charger. 4 Star Review Milwaukee 18V 0920-29 Combo Kit

Strengths:

This set has a good and reasonable Battery Power. Also it is well built for the price.

Weaknesses:

I am not really comfortable with the circular saw yet, but I guess I will have to learn due to the blade side and waste side.

Posted 1 year ago - I think I like this one very much for the price and the current promotion. However, I have to learn how to use the circular saw. As I pointed out, I used to use Makita cordless saw with quite different waste side orientation. Well, I can learn fast. - The circular saw is better than a Hitachi (14.4v) portable saw I have. I didn't have chance to compare the battery life, but the power is quite different. For an occasional home project, this is more than what I need. I am not sure if I will use all the power except for my deck project I am planning this coming fall. - I like the drill very much. It looks and feels heavy, but it is well balanced. I am not a tall guy (5'7"), but it feels very comfortable. Just need a sharp blade and I can drill plenty with this one. I have B&D, Ryobi, Makita, Hitachi, Dewalt, and now Milwaukee. They all works fine, but this is the only 18V drill I have. Anything less than 12V is not so powerful to drive 4" screws and this will do fine for me. - The case is very large, I mean it is a large plastic case (10"x23.5"x17") and I am not sure where I will put this case. It is a strong case, but it is a huge case. - I needed one good Sawzall, and this will do just fine for me. - I don't care about the light. Although this could come handy for some others, but I never used any these type of portable light. If it is dark, I am not cutting anything. - All in all, it is a great deal for the money and this could be my last portable power tools. I can clearly see/feel the difference between 12v vs. 18v. Comparing with 14.4v, I am not sure if I get that much more, will have to use more to compare the battery life. Usually I don't run the juice down completely, so I wouldn't know yet.

4 Star Review Very Nice Combo

Strengths:

Will built, very solid, lithium ion batteries

Weaknesses:

none so far

Posted Jan 6, 2008 - This is an excellent set of tools. Everything has operated flawlessly. The new lithium ion battery technology is a great improvement over the ni-cad ones. Milwaukee makes great tools and these are no exception.
