Makita 9227 is one of the best polishers out there, and the CX3 makes it a sweet deal with the bags and pads. The 9227 is a very balanced and powerful polished. With the variable speed setup (and there is a diagram right by the speed dial to illustrate the rpm) it's very easy for user to determine their needs.
Putting on the backing plate is very simple and that's pretty universal among most pads out there in the market. Another great thing about the 9227 is the handles. They provide two types of handle, one perpendicular and one that's around-the-top.
The polisher is relatively heavy and big, so it might not be as easy to maneuver or use it on tricky / small areas.
Moreover, the polisher has a feature to "hold" the power on so you don't have to constantly press on the power. However, it's not as easy to trigger the mechanism due to the weight of the polisher.
You can also use the polisher as a sander by putting on the sanding plate (separate modules), that's great flexibility.
Overall this is one of the best polishers I have used. It's very balanced and powerful. It's definitely a great choice for professional detailers.
