2 Star Review dissapointed in this beauty

Strengths:

Plethora of controls

Weaknesses:

Plethora of controls

Posted 1 year ago - I looked long and hard to find a pointing device that had assignable buttons to use in my daily work as a composer and Finale 2009. Buttons save oodles of time in immediate tool selection and allow the creative process to flow. The Mac OSX software worked great. The scrolling functions are beautiful and smooth. The thumb wheel is great. The problem? - I left it out last night, and, this morning, it's batteries are already dead. I'm afraid that if this thing needs charged every night, the batteries will fade quickly. (the nature of batteries, you know) Also - maybe I'm a clutz, and certainly I've only had it a day or two, but, everytime I touch this thing, I'm hitting the side/top buttons.

5 Star Review MX Revolution Laser Mouse

Strengths:

Clean movement; Long battery life per charge; buttons are smooth and work well.

Weaknesses:

Stiff Forward/Back buttons

Posted May 1, 2008 - Have had this mouse for a little over a month and am super pleased with it. Though it is rated lower end dpi, my gaming has actually improved over old mouse as it is still a faster mouse with better accuracy. Other than a couple of the buttons being stiff, which will probably work out with use, the mouse has been an exceptional buy and i would recommend to anyone looking for a good wireless mouse. Have had no connectivity issues at all and battery life is phenomenal per charge, even for one that spends hours a day on the computer.

2 Star Review it just looks good

Strengths:

desing, looks, confort

Weaknesses:

battery life, recharge system control sucks

Posted Feb 14, 2008 - I had this mouse for a month, its the third Logitec mouse I had, it work for the first charge fine. After the fists charge it never again got fully charged. I seems to me that recharge internal control its wrong, so no real charge control occurs or something else. The customer service is terrible. I also had a problem with last logitec keyboard. I think the quality control has gone week... I switch brand.

2 Star Review Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse

Strengths:

NONE

Weaknesses:

1) battery sucks 2) charger unit leaves a lot to be desired.

Posted Jan 7, 2008 - This mouse is a waste of money. Battery life stinks, doesn't charge half the time when you put it in the unit. It is totally unsuitable for folks who are in graphic design--mainly because precision is needed. Something this mouse does not do. The battery is shot again after 2 hours of use. doc

2 Star Review So close, yet so far.

Strengths:

Comfortable, tons of buttons

Weaknesses:

Prone to interference, poor battery life, finicky wheel,

Posted Nov 1, 2007 - At first glance, the mouse looks amazing. It contours nicely to your hand and the buttons are all placed within comfortable reach. The options you have to program the button functions are very nice too. There is little delay in responsiveness compared to many other mouses I've used. Functionally, my only disappointment lies with the mouse wheel. The free spin mode is a great feature, but certain programs don't work well with it (Adobe Acrobat is one). Also, scrolling down is a lot slower than scrolling up, though I believe this has been done on purpose in order to increase accuracy when scrolling down quickly. All in all, however, the concept behind this mouse is very nice. This mouse isn't, however, free of plagues; some of which really made me think about whether this purchase was worth it. My main concern is with the receiver. My computer is under my desk, and when plugged into either the front or back USB ports, the mouse becomes very erratic. That is, there is so much interference that it literally becomes unusable under any circumstance (posts of this problem swarms the Logitech forums, along with battery issues which I will get to later). I am now using a USB hub on my desk to reduce the distance between the receiver and the mouse (though one of my hubs wouldn't work with the receiver). The mouse is now no more than 6 inches from the receiver, but I STILL experience occasional interference. Though it is now usable, it still is unacceptable for gaming. Another problem is with the battery. Not only is the battery life very short (lasts barely a week on a full charge of regular usage--4-5 hours of browsing... no gaming... a day), charging is often an issue as well. The first time I tried to recharge after use, it kept giving me errors. I had to use the mouse until the battery completely died before it would recharge again (the forums, again, are full of posts regarding this issue), though I've not had that problem repeat itself. This mouse has so much potential to live up to its hype. The idea behind the mouse is great and would've been the single best mouse if not for such flaws in the fundamentals of wireless hardware. My $20 wireless mouse did not have these problems, why does this $100 one have them? If you're in the market for nice mouses AND your computer setup is such that your desktop is close to where you would be using the mouse, consider this mouse. If you're looking for a gaming mouse or a mouse that won't give you any headaches, pass on this one.

3 Star Review Great featured mouse but somewhat buggy and not 100% perfect.

Strengths:

Amazing set of features. Customizable buttons for every program you desire. Many buttons. Dual scroll wheels. Wireless. Nice LED battery charging status. Battery indicator.

Weaknesses:

Somewhat pricey, free-spin feature broke after 2-3 months, lags from time to time.

Posted May 17, 2007 - Somewhat pricey (I paid $70 for this January 2007). But the biggest issues (as stated previously): the free-spin feature broke on mine now (after about 2-3 months) and the mouse seems to lag from time to time. Just stops working. Software is also a bit buggy. Sometimes when pulling out other USB devices, the USB receiver on this mouse also gets disabled. So I have to unplug and replug the USB receiver. Also, since I've reprogrammed many of my programs to have custom buttons, sometimes the scrolling doesn't work for the program. I resolve this by ALT+TABbing to another program and then back. And that seems to solve it usually. I'd recommend this mouse if the price was lower (~$50 or less) but don't expect it to be 100% perfect. The extra features are worth the tiny bugs (especially since I don't use the free-spin much).

4 Star Review MX

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

Posted Apr 4, 2007 - This is the best mouse I've found by far. Especially good for smaller/female hands, as a lot of the ergo mice out there are too big for me. Logitech has great customer service, too.

5 Star Review Best Mouse EVER!

Strengths:

Smartshift technology, application switcher, comfortable, many buttons

Weaknesses:

NONE

Posted Apr 2, 2007 - This is by far the most comfortable, functional mouse I have ever owned. After installing setpoint, it is possible to set up all of the functionality. Using this with the Dinovo Edge is an excellent combo.

3 Star Review Excellent with some flaws

Strengths:

Feels great, love the scroll wheel, plenti-o-buttons, highly programmable, battery life.

Weaknesses:

Cursor randomly moves some times. OS X software is buggy. Crashes a lot.

Posted Mar 23, 2007 - I love this mouse, but it hates mouse pads. The cursor randomly moves on most of my pads or any sheet of paper. The only surface it likes is my wood desk, but I don't like doing that since it scratches my desk. I did everything logitech said to fix the problem. It's only a temporary fix and usually comes back after a few hours. I'm not going to complain about battery life. It's rechargeable!! I don't have to buy batteries. I've gone 2 work weeks of constant use without recharging and it only take a few hours to fully charge again. You want something with weak battery life and non-rechargeable I can recommend a Microsoft mouse. Ouch

5 Star Review MX Laser Mouse

Strengths:

Comfortable, accurate, highly flexible

Weaknesses:

A bit pricey, dodgy recharger

Posted Mar 19, 2007 - An excellent mouse with many features, including scroll up/down and side-to side, jump back and forth, and others. Very comfortable, form-fitting ergonomics. Highly accurate laser system. Although, personally, I've never liked Logitech's recharging systems. this rechargeable lasts a long time on a charge. Like their others, though, it takes fiddling to get it to seat properly in the stand.

5 Star Review Awesome Mouse with Tons of Features...

Strengths:

Egronomic, fly wheel, numerous functions/ buttons

Weaknesses:

Expensive

Posted Mar 16, 2007 - This is another logitech mouse that I've added to my collection over the years and I'm truly impressed. Not only does it look sleek, but it's super comfortable. There are numerous buttons and wheels that make this mouse a jack of all trades. The fly wheel is really handy when scrolling through long web pages or word docs. The rechargeable battery works great and I only have to redock in in the charger maybe once a week or so. I highly recommend this mouse, although it's still pretty expensive. You do get what you pay for though.

5 Star Review Excellent Modern Mouse

Strengths:

smooth scrolling, accurate, reliable, decent design elements

Weaknesses:

must get used to all the new buttons/feature possibilities, bit pricey

Posted Feb 28, 2007 - I don't have many complaints, this is a very modern mouse that uses one of the latest "mouse technologies" ("laser" tracking). It was extremely easy to setup and install as most Logitech products are. I certainly enjoy using the mouse, I wouldn't have even minded if it was larger than it is since I have large hands. There's a bunch of extra mouse buttons that serve different purposes depending on the user. I was never able to get into using them, even with my previous mouse purchases, but I'm going to try with this new mouse as it could be such a great convenience. It's just hard to get into new habits when I use input devices with a computer. I also have the "sister" mouse the VX Revolution which is a notebook version. Battery life could be a problem going forward, but for now I can deal with it. I'll update this if I need to in the future as I haven't even scratched the surface of the possibilities of this mouse-- I've only used it for basic computing.

4 Star Review World's Most Advanced Mouse, Logitech MX Revolution

Strengths:

This is a great mouse that fits my hand perfectly, it is very ergonomic for long, comfortable computer sessions. With this mouse, I am able to scroll through long web pages in just seconds!

Weaknesses:

It is a very expensive mouse, very costly compared to others on the market. It is only offered in a RF wireless solution, no bluetooth model.

Posted Feb 15, 2007 - This is a great mouse for those who have many long computer sessions. It is very ergonomic and comfortable, enabling the user to enjoy long sessions. You're hand will not get tired as it freely fits the hand. The hyperscroll feature is great for scrolling long webpages and documents. Recommended!

5 Star Review Logitech Revolution MX mouse

Strengths:

Accurate tracking. Long rechargeable battery life.

Weaknesses:

Doesn't accommodate a left-handed person.

Posted Feb 12, 2007 - This neat mouse tracks extremely well, except on a glass surface, which I had to cover with a frosty plastic material. If Logitech produced a left-handed version the mouse would be perfect for everyone.

5 Star Review Logitech MX Revolution "World's Most Advanced Mouse"

Strengths:

Very ergonomic mouse with the hyper-scroll wheel.

Weaknesses:

Very pricey for a mouse.

Posted Feb 6, 2007 - This mouse is great and has been very helpful in reading long documents as it's advertised to scroll quickly from the beginning of a document to the end of the document. I'm currently in college and this mouse is perfect for reading online writings assigned by professors.
