5 Star Review Best mouse I've ever used

Strengths:

Fluid movement, good weight and size, lots of buttons

Weaknesses:

Haven't experienced any so far (although many complain about battery life)

Posted Dec 17, 2006 - I've had a number of mice, and I haven't ever used one that I've been nearly as happy with as this one. I upgraded from the MX1000, for no good reason, really, but I'm glad that I did. The movement on this mouse seems more natural to me, and I like the variety of buttons. The fast-scrolling feature is pretty interesting as well, once you get used to it. I use it all the time on websites now. If you're still using a wired mouse (or a wireless one you aren't happy with), I'd definitely recommend getting this. If you have something like an MX1000, I'd only recommned upgrading if you're very mouse sensitive.

5 Star Review MX Revolution on OS X

Strengths:

You can program buttons to perform different functions like thumb back/ forward button. You can switch between open applications with a single movement with the second scroll wheel.

Weaknesses:

The mouse tracking speed is controlled via Apple's built in Mouse drivers, you will need to adjust the speed using the ‘Keyboard and Mouse’ preferences found in your system preferences.

Posted Jan 27, 2007 - Best Mac OS X mouse i ever tried! You'll need to download Logitech Control Center (LCC) software for Mac OS X from logitech website, it's not coming in the installation CD. With the One-Touch-Search function on top of the mouse you can search more efficient. You can highlight a word or phrase and press the search button. The search is automatic carried out in the search toll of your choice Google, Yahoo, Spotlight

5 Star Review MX Revolution Rechargeable Wireless Laser Mouse - USB

Strengths:

Innovative design and ergonomics. 2 scrolling wheels. SmartShift Technology.

Weaknesses:

Price may be high for some. No Bluetooth?!

Posted Nov 2, 2006 - Never would have imagined a mouse better than the MX 1000, but then came the MX Revolution. 2 scrolling dials, Smartshift which allows the user to set the main top dial to spin freely or click to click with different programs. Every button and wheel is programmable with the Setpoint software, but I found the default settings to be just fine. The MX Revolution also can go days without charging and it worked immediately after plugging in the USB receiver before even installing included software and drivers. If only it was Bluetooth compatible! Would have been nice to just use the Bluetooth adapter with my Dinovo Keyboard and Media Pad, but with functionality and design - I think I can live without it. No regrets whatsoever with this purchase and highly recommend it anyone demanding extra features from a mouse and comfortable with the premium price.

5 Star Review The best mouse in the market

Strengths:

Design. Ergonomics. Built-in rechargeable battery.

Weaknesses:

None.

Posted Dec 19, 2006 - This is the best mouse I ever used. A lots of new features from logitech: hyper-fast scrolling, document quick-flip, new laser engine ect. It also comes with built-in battery and a charge station. I use it to replace my 1-year old MX610 and I feel much more comfortable than MX610. This is NOT a mouse for gaming. If you want to use it for games, you may be disappointed. Highly recommend for general use!

5 Star Review The best mouse I've ever used!

Strengths:

Too many to list. Controls are placed at logical locations. Wheels and buttons feel very smooth, not cheap.

Weaknesses:

After thinking a while, the only thing I can come up with is the weight is a little on the heavy side.

Posted Nov 8, 2006 - Currently this is my favorite mouse with the VX (notebook)version coming in second. I've owned a lot of mice over the past 20 years, going back to a single button $100 AppleMouse for my Apple IIc, and this, IMHO, is as good as it gets. I feel that the mouse is one of the most used controls on a computer, so it is important to me to get the best. I hate taking my hand off the mouse to do common tasks on the keyboard, and this mouse helps with that.

5 Star Review The most advanced mouse on the face of the earth.

Strengths:

Nice design - fits like a glove. Built in battery and quick charger. Intuitive scroll wheel with second scroll wheel available for additonal tasks.

Weaknesses:

Weak software that doesn't give you full contol. (uberOptions to the rescue!)

Posted Jan 23, 2007 - If you are a gadget guy like me, you can't wait to get your hands on new technology. This is one of those items that you should run out and get. My current favorite wired mouse is the Mx-510. It gives you plenty of buttons to customize. The MX Revolution is very similar in that regard, but what makes it different is the brand new scroll wheel which goes from click mode that does incremental movement to free wheeling mode which allows scrolling at warp speed. it takes a little bit of time to get used to, but once you do, you won't want to go back. The design is also really nice and it feels good in hand. Decent battery life and quick charge mean that you won't be without left power. The only weakness is the software that does not allow full customization of the buttons. This is not really a problem, because there is a free little program available called uberOptions which allows full customization. Google it, install it and you won't be disappointed! Overall, this mouse is a keeper and I'd recommend it to anyone.

5 Star Review Great Mouse! Best Logitech mouse yet.

Strengths:

Light weight, comfort, features (including scroll wheel). Worked with my MacBook Pro out of the box.

Weaknesses:

None that are significant. Don't know why they use IR instead of Bluetooth, but its a minor issue.

Posted Jan 28, 2007 - In my opinion, the MX Revolution mouse is a significant improvement over the MX Laser 1000, which I have had for serveral years (and before that I had the MX 700). With each interation these Logitech mice have become lighter and more comfortable in my hand, and are offered with better features. I very much like the smooth scroll wheel, which converts to a click wheel from the top (unlike the portable Revolution mouse, which is also excellent, but the design of the full size MX is better on this feature). Highly recommended.

5 Star Review Logitech MX Revolution "World's Most Advanced Mouse"

Strengths:

Very ergonomic mouse with the hyper-scroll wheel.

Weaknesses:

Very pricey for a mouse.

Posted Feb 6, 2007 - This mouse is great and has been very helpful in reading long documents as it's advertised to scroll quickly from the beginning of a document to the end of the document. I'm currently in college and this mouse is perfect for reading online writings assigned by professors.

5 Star Review Great Mouse

Strengths:

Accuracy, long range, reaction speed, operational surface, programmable buttons

Weaknesses:

price

Posted Dec 2, 2006 - This mouse is great. You can use it on almost any surface. The range is great since it use 2.4 GHz. The mouse was operational even though the tv is upstairs and I was in the living room downstairs. It has good accuracy without the jurking that other mouse causes which increase its reaction speed. The only drawback is the price. At $100, the mouse is really pricy since you are just paying for the mouse itself.

5 Star Review More evolution than revolution, but still impressive

Strengths:

Innovative scroll wheel behavior

Weaknesses:

High cost

Posted Dec 29, 2006 - I've never liked scrolling through long web pages or documents with most mice, but the Revolution actually makes it fun. The inertia-drive wheel and smooth scrolling action removes the jerkiness and slowness from rapidly advancing though lengthy pages. Battery life has been excellent in my opinion. This replaced my MX-700, which I always liked...but I have to say the Revolution is a worthy successor.

5 Star Review Logitech Revolution MX mouse

Strengths:

Accurate tracking. Long rechargeable battery life.

Weaknesses:

Doesn't accommodate a left-handed person.

Posted Feb 12, 2007 - This neat mouse tracks extremely well, except on a glass surface, which I had to cover with a frosty plastic material. If Logitech produced a left-handed version the mouse would be perfect for everyone.

5 Star Review Excellent Modern Mouse

Strengths:

smooth scrolling, accurate, reliable, decent design elements

Weaknesses:

must get used to all the new buttons/feature possibilities, bit pricey

Posted Feb 28, 2007 - I don't have many complaints, this is a very modern mouse that uses one of the latest "mouse technologies" ("laser" tracking). It was extremely easy to setup and install as most Logitech products are. I certainly enjoy using the mouse, I wouldn't have even minded if it was larger than it is since I have large hands. There's a bunch of extra mouse buttons that serve different purposes depending on the user. I was never able to get into using them, even with my previous mouse purchases, but I'm going to try with this new mouse as it could be such a great convenience. It's just hard to get into new habits when I use input devices with a computer. I also have the "sister" mouse the VX Revolution which is a notebook version. Battery life could be a problem going forward, but for now I can deal with it. I'll update this if I need to in the future as I haven't even scratched the surface of the possibilities of this mouse-- I've only used it for basic computing.

5 Star Review Awesome Mouse with Tons of Features...

Strengths:

Egronomic, fly wheel, numerous functions/ buttons

Weaknesses:

Expensive

Posted Mar 16, 2007 - This is another logitech mouse that I've added to my collection over the years and I'm truly impressed. Not only does it look sleek, but it's super comfortable. There are numerous buttons and wheels that make this mouse a jack of all trades. The fly wheel is really handy when scrolling through long web pages or word docs. The rechargeable battery works great and I only have to redock in in the charger maybe once a week or so. I highly recommend this mouse, although it's still pretty expensive. You do get what you pay for though.

5 Star Review MX Laser Mouse

Strengths:

Comfortable, accurate, highly flexible

Weaknesses:

A bit pricey, dodgy recharger

Posted Mar 19, 2007 - An excellent mouse with many features, including scroll up/down and side-to side, jump back and forth, and others. Very comfortable, form-fitting ergonomics. Highly accurate laser system. Although, personally, I've never liked Logitech's recharging systems. this rechargeable lasts a long time on a charge. Like their others, though, it takes fiddling to get it to seat properly in the stand.
