Trackball Explorer is a whole new kind of trackball that features the IntelliEye optical sensor popularized in IntelliMouse Explorer. With an integrated sensor tracking movements at a rate of 1,500 frames per second the trackball has superior accuracy and precision. While existing mechanical trackballs have many moving parts to break and wear out, IntelliEye optical technology has one sensor and no moving parts so it won??t wear out or break. Trackball Explorer is designed for users who prefer to use their index finger to control the trackball. minimize

4 Star ReviewWanted trackball for gaming which it work fine for ...

Strengths:

Smooth operation, big enough for hand, accurate, no need for mouse pad.

Weaknesses:

Takes getting used too, thumb gets tired

Posted Jul 20, 2003 - Wanted trackball for gaming which it work fine for. Fits my hand more comfortably than old optical mouse. Thumb operates left & right click buttons and scroll wheel, so gets tired. Ball is smooth and accurate. Pinkey finger operats forward and backward navigation. Looks nice and red LED shines light around trackball for added looks. No need for a mouse pad so you can set it in more places.

2 Star Review Comfortable, but too flimsy

Strengths:

Smooth action, ergonomic, programable, inexpensive

Weaknesses:

Buttons are flimsy, clicking isn't crisp and definite, buttons are fragile

Posted Oct 6, 2005 - There's a lot to like about the Trackball Explorer. It fits your hand well, everything is well-placed, the ball is smooth as silk. But all the buttons are mushy. I find myself clicking multiple times because I can't tell if the button registered or not. The buttons seem prone to break, too. I also use a Logitech trackball, and, on the whole, prefer it. The design isn't as fancy, but it's built like a brick, and the buttons do work with a clear "click" action. I've used the Logitech for several years and I hoped that the Trackball Explorer would be an improvement. Well, it is in some minor ways, but the flimsy buttons are a serious drawback.

5 Star ReviewI liked the design of this trackball mouse so much ...

Strengths:

Excellent ergonomic design. Very easy to use all functions, especially the trackball. Superior trackball design gives you both accurate and fast control over the cursor.

Weaknesses:

None noted.

Posted Sep 30, 2005 - I liked the design of this trackball mouse so much that I bought a second one for my daughters' computer. They love it as much as I.

4 Star Review MS Trackball Explorer

Strengths:

Trackball Explorer gives a very good and accurate control of the cursor

Weaknesses:

Need to clean ball and socket more often than I like

Posted Aug 31, 2005 - I have used a Kensington Expert Mouse in the past at my job and I must admin that the Kensington trackball gives the best cursor accuracy. But for less than half of price, MS Trackball Explorer does a pretty good job and I am very satisfied.
