I normally don't give reviews. I found the website for MicroPartsUSA.com kind of scary because of all the english typos. Logging into their web site after creating a profile was/is also hinky. I live in the states, NC. Calling the 877 number to determine the best (cheapest) way to ship the product was also disconcerting - a man in a room by himself, thousands of miles away, told me to order from the website, although he said the item was in stock in Florida. I needed a discontinued seagate scsi hard drive bad, so I took the plunge. Here is my Praise: I received exactly what I ordered, in perfect condition and 1.5 days ahead of the promised delivery time. Why do I have to jump through hoops to post a rating? Haven't used the product yet (a hard drive), but it was shiped by FedEx with my instuctions to leave it at the apt office if I wasn't home (normal). When the package came I got the usual first attempt notice, I signed for it so it would be left at the office. When I checked with the office the next day, it hadn't been left, when I came home I found it on top of the door bell box for the apartment's enterence. Anyone could have taken it, it was right there for all to see and take it if they wanted too, thank goodness I have good honest naighbors. Don't use FedEx or UPS for home delivery, only the Postal service makes sure you get your packages and makes it safe. |

I am the owner of an IT service company and we frequently buy equipment and parts for customers. Micropartsusa falsely advertised a tape drive on their website complete with a picture of a tape drive. I paid over $30 for *ground* shipping, already outrageous, and what they sent me instead of a drive were two tapes. Dealing with them has been very frustrating. They don't respond quickly to email and when I have called them it sounds like I was talking to someone at home in India. They finally agreed to send a return shipping label but have refused to refund the original shipping charges. My overall experience is that they are very unprofessional and unwilling to take responsibility for their mistakes. In my opinion, if they aren't blatant criminals then they really don't care about their customers. *** CAVEAT EMPTOR *** Retailer Response (08/30/2009): Thank you for your feedback. However we would appreciate if you were honest about the entire issue. Since you are already an IT services company owner you should know difference between tape media and a tape drive. You ordered tape media so why would you expect tape drive? Even though it is your mistake we told you that we would take your order back. Just send it back with the shipping label we sent you. You keep mentioning about the refund when we already told you we will happily refund your money once we receive your returned order. Micropartsusa.com is not here to cheat customers. We are here to provide level of outstanding service to our customers\' needs. \"Dealing with them has been very frustrating.\" If you repeat the same comment over and over people will get frustrated. |

This is the second time i'm purchasing from micropartsusa.com. I faced many difficulties searching for some discontinued products. Our company needed a minimum of 20 of those parts. Well after doing a search online, i came across micropartsusa.com. I was skeptical of their stock, because I had so much difficulty to begin with. However, once I called them and did an inventory check, I right away placed my order. In addition, i even recieved a discount for the purchase of a higher quantity. I appreciate the service guys. I never go out of my way to give a merchant rating. However these guys have impressed me. After an order with another vendor fell through, due to the memory modules not being available at the advertised price, we scrambled to find another vendor with good pricing for a retail-packaged product. We called to confirm stock, and when we advised we needed overnight shipping we were told that they couldn't guarantee it would go out that same day since it was already late. However, they came through for us and we received the product this morning. Thanks for fast service, excellent pricing, and product exactly as advertised. We are always hesitant to use a merchant who is new to us, - but we will definitely order from you in the future! |

The hard drive we ordered was listed as "New Bulk," but the condition of the received drive was clearly USED. Although the drive seems to work, it had numerous scratches, fingerprints, scratched off stickers, and scuff marks where the screws go. Since we need the drive in place now and don't have time to deal with an RMA, we didn't contact MicroPartsUSA, but my company will never order from this site again. Retailer Response (07/17/2009): Dear Customer thank You for letting us know your opinion. However after you placed your order we called your company number ending ****5700 back to let you know We are sold out on \\\"New Bulk\\\" and we can get you \\\"Pull\\\" drive from our sister company. and Your co-worker informed us it will be fine as long it work(good drive) so therefor we sent it since it was \\\"FedEx 2nd day\\\" so we didn\\\'t want miss the shipping. If you like we can take it back.. and refund your money. Please advice.. we can not do much when some one else agreed from your company. Thank you again placing order with us. |

Execelent - We desperately needed this motherboard for a client who was down. I placed the order at nearly 5.30PM and had the mobo in my hands at 10:40AM the next morning!!! They are definitely willing to go the extra mile when you need it. We have purchased hundreds of hard drives from micropartsusa.com and have never been disappointed. Microparts posted a false ad to which they could not fulfill. They are crooks trying to get money and not send the item to their customers. Been waiting for the item for almost two weeks and did not recieve any sort of conformation of the order or any status. Been calling them for almost a week now. I can't get hold of them at any given time of the day. I will never buy from these people. One of the worst online experience. |

Ordered a hard drive. Five days later checked on the status and found the order was canceled. Not in stock. Never notified me via email. I called them to see if they had another drive in stock similar. Nobody answers the phone you have to leave a message. Two days later I still have not recieved a call back or an email or any other attempt of customer service on there part. So I ordered it somewhere else. Poor company, web site still shows the drive in stock. Would not recomend, waste of time. I see others have had the same problem.
