mlposner - (September 30, 2004) The Sharp R930AW is a fine product - had previous model for 14 years. An excellent microwave and convection device. The weaknesses noted don't really distract from the quality of this machine - Sharp has tried to pack more bells and whistles into this device than I think is needed. Most deficiencies are minor and have easy work arounds. This model is larger (1.5 cu ft vs 1.0) than the Sharp I had previously. Some controls are now smaller and seem too close together-sometimes hard to hit the right button. Does everything well, except the Sensor cook function - which is great sometimes and inaccurate other times (could also be my fault). The Compu-Bake, Roast, Broil button need greater w

daltman7 - (January 24, 2004) This microwave/toaster combination fits in a compact space and looks great! It makes an attractive addition to any area. Since it both microwaves and toasts, there's no need to have both appliances. It's perfect for a small kitchen.

duhang - (March 12, 2004) We purchased this microwave only because it fits nicely under a kitchen cabinet and with a cool looking. The Hanging Kit or the Built-In Kit are sold separately. The total is $400. But I'm not satified with its performance. And the cost/value ratio is too high. That is why it got discounted by GE, I guess

3 Star Review I need to do what to change the light bulb?

mikeinthedesert - (11/18/2009) I had the door hinge come loose from the welds and the welding I was told that needed to be performed was only by my removing the unit and delivering it to the service center where they would charge me $250 to $300 to do it. So I found a way to do it myself....In fifteen minutes w/o removing the unit from its location. BUT then the SIMPLE issue of the light bulb replacement I was told was not even worth changing...the serviceman I spoke with said he would rather buy a new unit than to pay the $70 dollars for a special 2 prong appliance bulb and the effort of dissassembling the ENTIRE CASING! There is NO WAY to change (the ripoff $70) lightbulb thats not labor intensive!

2 Star Review Unit is Noisy

tskibinski - (11/03/2009) Makes a constant high frequency noise like a constant cricket chirp that is very noticeable especially when things get quiet around the house. Came that way out of the box. The service people say it is normal but it drives me nuts especially for the price of this unit.

1 Star Review Looks are better than quality

scdavid1969 - (10/28/2009) I tried resetting it as customer service told me to do. First at the breaker box. Time never changed then I unplugged it for over five minutes and plugged it back in. Then I reset the time. Damn beep over and over finally a F3 code. Same spill of course warranty out and how convinent this is the second microwave from GE in ten years or less. The first they did give a credit for this purchase plus a couple hundred out of pocket. I unplugged it and used a tabletop from Sears I purchased over a decade ago that still works. I did file a complaint with the BBB. I also found that several same issues with other ovens by GE have caught fire and have recalls but not this one thus far.
