I bought this for my parents recently and they absolutely love it. This is the third Dell LCD monitor I have purchased and so far, the third time is the charm.
With a small footprint and nice, modern design, the 1907FP looks great on any desk or computer stand. It features extra USB ports that save having to plug devices into the CPU which in our case, is on the floor. Those definitely come in handy for card readers, MP3 player cords, and other gadgets.
I have always like the Ultrasharp picture over most other LCD monitors. It's very bright and clear and clean. I did tone down the brightness and adjust the colors a little off from the factory defaults, but this was pretty simple to do in a few minutes.
My sister saw the monitor after I set it up for my parents and she ended up buying one for her husband as well.

I have had this monitor for a week and I love the big screen. I purchased it on sale and made a good choice. I also have Dell 17" Ultrasharp and have had no problems for last 3 years. Dell's service and quality of products is why I will continue to order from them.

I have had this monitor for several months now and love it. At first it was so large I had to get used to that. It is a huge jump from a CRT monitor. I would buy it again and have no complaints with the quality of this monitor.

TopStrengths: Very easy to set up and use. Colors look great. All that I want and need for less than $240 including tax, discounts and free shipping
Weakness: slight adjustment period for OSD controls but I'm a neophyte
I did a lot of research. I was worried after looking at CNET and other sites about what panel I would get with this model- Samsung or LG or Phillips. It was delivered in less than a day. I wanted the monitor to meet the advertised specs so I followed all the tricks/rules I had read about monitor and OSD controls to find out what panel it was and VOILA it was the Samsung. I had to tone down the brightness from default a bit. The OSD controls took a bit of getting used to but after an initial bit of trial and error all is well.
I just use the monitor for general use and video with only analog connections and I'm more than satisfied. Dell customer service helped a lot in getting a credit when the monitor went on sale a second time after less than a week. I just had to e-chat with a rep and ask nicely if they could do it. They usually only do it for over $50 but I got lucky.

For the price, this monitor did not have any drawbacks. Not all LCDs are alike, obviously if you want to spend 3 times as much you are going to get something of better quality.

TopStrengths: None I can see.
Weakness: Monitor never worked properly since day one. The color faded in and out, and within a week the whole monitor completely went out. I had a green tint around the sides of the monitor.
I will never buy another Dell product from DELL. Their Technical service stinks. They took forever to answer the line and then they took me through a lot of red tape to try and replace the monitor. So I decided I did not want a replacement, because I don't ever want to do business with them again. I was without a monitor for 1 week. So I ordered a ViewSonic VP930b and I am very pleased with it and the service I have received.

Weakness: Some older computers, like pentium III may have problems with driver, but you can always find it online
I love it, I am going to buy the second one :-)
You can connect two computers at the same times, in fact it works like a KVM switch.

TopStrengths: Good when it works
Weakness: The power button on TWO monitors from Dell both broke within 6 months. Dell support said if it works for 6 months then it's not defective. DON'T BUT THIS PRODUCT.
I have had 20 monitors and this one is good... when it works. After several months the power button will break and Dell won't support the problem. Flawed design. Check online and you will find others also reporting problem. DON'T BUT THIS MONITOR.

Strengths: Resolution is clear, colors come out crisp. No dead pixels, color imbalances. Text comes out perfect. 1000% improvement over my crappy CRT.
Weakness: None at all.
I got this from slickdeals.net for $244 including shipping and CA taxes back in May. It still costs this much right now, meaning that this monitor is a hot commodity.
When I bought it, people were telling me its panel had a good chance of having been made by Samsung if not by LG, AUO, or Sony. Supposedly the Samsung specs were said to have 5ms response time and 1000:1 contrast. Turns out I got the Samsung. There's a way of testing to see who made the panel:
1. turn off the LCD
2. press the menu button and + button at the same time.
Press the power button on the LCD while holding those 2
3. go to menu
4. go to factory reset
5. go to factory
6. if it says SMG with a bunch of numbers, it is made by samsung. If it says AUO, then AUO, and so on.
I will say now only this: the reviews on this monitor are arbitrary depending on who made the panel. If it's made by LG, I am told that it has a tendency to have white light bleeding out from the edges after a while. That's a major complaint some had. AUO is said to be fine...standard specs are 8ms response time and 500:1 or 700:1 contrast. I forget. But note that LCD manufacturers tend to undeliberately exaggerate or understate their LCD specs and they often use different standards for measuring contrast and response time.
Over all though, there aren't too many other 19" LCDs out there that can compete with this 1. It's got an LCD panel that's made by a prestigous company, and pcworld.com often rates dell high for makign really nice-looking and easy to manage LCD frames. Basically you have the best of both worlds with this big baby. Samsung brand LCDs have hada tendency to be nice, but a bit overpriced because of their brandname recognition except until now...I've been seeing quite a few deals for their syncmaster series.
Well, you got the idea. Choose wisely.
