I purchased this monitor after reading a number of reviews. The reviews were mostly positive, but there were a few individuals who complained of a lack of customer support after they started having problems within a few days of purchasing the monitor. I have not had mine very long, but like the color much better than the LCD monitor that it replaced. In addition I like the styling.
One problem that I was having was the speed with which I was unable to change from computer screen to computer screen. I thought that this problem was due to the computer rather than the monitor. However, replacing the old monitor with this one resulted in very rapid changes from one screen to the next.
Overall I am very satisfied with this monitor. The monitor it replaced was purchased over three years ago at a cost of $600 + and I purchased this one for a forth of that price after rebates. I did not want to spend the extra money for the X-brite in this monitor.
When I purchased my first PC for $3500 from IBM I ordered it with everything that was available and saw that within two years it was cheaper to purchase a new computer than to upgrade mine. My entire philosophy has changed and now I purchase items that have what I want at the time and not what I believe I will want in the future so that I can just change out units when improvements come along.

I like the monitor because of its sharp, vivid, beautiful color, compared with other brand. but it is a little more expensive. Sony's products are always more expensive than others.

The colors are great on this monitor. Response time isn't as good as others but video actually looks better than some monitors that claim 8ms. Unless you are into video games I would recomment this highly.

Checked out alot of monitors(20-25) for overall picture, quality and design. I am more than pleased with my choice.
The color is rich and it has 0-20 degree tilt range.
BTW, got this for $119.99 AR plus tax at office depot.

I have been using this LCD from past 2 months, no problems so far, prety good price, reasonable.The print and colors are sharp and have good contrast. I am experiencing no eye fatigue and I enjoy the extra space on my desk due to this monitor's intelligent design. Setup is a cinch. The brightness control is a model of simplicity - push the clearly marked button and watch the choices pop up. It took, literal, 10 seconds.

I am a fan of Sony products. After my old lcd monitor died, I decided to get a sony 17" lcd monitor. I am very happy with my purchase.
The LCD monitor is ready to run when plugging in the cables. The panel on the rear of the monitor helps to hide the cables. The monitor can wake up quickly and deliver an image quickly. The color is bright. The monitor is worth every penny I spent.

I bought the sony monitor to set up a home networking during the promotion. The price is quite good after the rebates. Compared with my old LCD monitor, sony monitor has very good contrast and sharp colors. It's very easy to set up. It's reliable. So far no problem. It looks nice and cool.

It is one of the best LCD monitors that I have owned. Shows very crisp still and video images. Not very GREAT for gaming as the response time is slow for a gaming display. Then the 17" displays are not really that suitable for gaming anyway unless dual setup is in place. No built-in speakers are the real weakness in this monitor. I don't believe that any monitor these days should be designed and sold without built-in speakers. Overall, it is one heck of a stylish monitor a real treat to eyes when turned on/off.

Shouldnt sell a product with flaws on screen.It works well,but there are 2 ghost images on the screen,its alright for games, but not good when viewing photos,or reading.I will not buy used again.

This monitor is very bright. Good for DVD watching and games. Due to its design, you can not adjust the hight too much. It is a little expensive compared to other brand. It has no DVI plug.

i bought this monitor to replace my old one. as i always trust sony brand, this one didn't let me down. with 1280x1024 resolution, images and text look crisp on this monitor. i also like the design of the support, yet it's a personal preference and it might not work for you.
the only downside of this monitor is that it doesn't support DVI, which i don't think is a big deal here, because i got sharp edges even when connected using 15-pin VGA cable.
Anyway, i would suggest this monitor to anyone who could afford.

I got this with a rebate incentive. It replaced my 17inch CRT. It Looks much sharper. And have more viewing area. Nothing to complain except no DVI input. Sony brand is still #1 for monitor.
