Viewsonic VX724 is great

Strengths: Fast refresh works great for gaming, brightness and colors are all good, no dead pixels

Weakness: no height adjustment on the stand

Went with this model because of the 4ms response and it has worked well for gaming. I'm not saying that a lesser response-time LCD would be a problem for gamers, just thought I'd hedge my bets. This one indeed does well playing games and I can't see any lagging or blurring that I've read can be a problem.

I picked this size so that it is similar in size to my 17" CRT to make it easier when running a multiple screen desktop and when working between computers. This is the first LCD panel we are using at home, so I can only compare side by side with a CRT monitor... I do use an LCD at work though so I do have some reference point.

The height adjustment limitation hasn't been a problem. It sits up just about an inch or so higher than my CRT, and you can adjust the tilt of it. I was also worried that I'd end up with a few dead pixels, but I don't see any dead pixels. The style and clarity of display on this model matches or exceeds anything I've seen, but I haven't tried to over-analyze or measure with any type of instruments... just giving you a common sit down and use it opinion. It is a very comfortable monitor to use. Overall it has been great for me.

Excellenet LCD monitor

Strengths: great contrast. Very fast response time. inexpensive compared to other monitors of equivalent value.

Weakness: monitor does not have a height adjustment.

Excellent monitor. I did not have any dead or stuck pixels. Have had good luck with Viewsonic in past. Comes with DVI and Analog video cables! (A great deal considering DVI cables can cost $20-40.)

A Great Monitor

Strengths: Great visual quality and refresh rate.

Weakness: Tilt adjustment only.

I choose this LCD because I have a Geforce 6800 GT installed on my PC. This LCD accepts both DVI and analog input and comes with both DVI and analog cables. Some LCDs have DVI capability but the DVI cable is not included. I have found no dead pixels. I use this monitor for both gaming and media editing. Ghosting is almost eliminated due to the fast refresh rate. Its superior brightness, contrast ratio and color make media editing a very fun job. With black/silver color, the monitor looks pretty when it sits on the desk. I need to find a way to hide my old LCDs, they look ugly when stand side by side with my new VX724.

ViewSonic VX724

Fast pixel response time spec and an attractive black-and-silver design don't make up for mediocre graphics quality.
