4 Star Review Good Motherboard for Budget Gaming

Strengths:

Ease of installation; dual core support; support for a wide range of Intel microprocessors; fanless northbridge; SLI capable.

Weaknesses:

The Asus motherboard software could be a little better designed

Posted Mar 30, 2007 - This is my second self-assembled computer. This time I went with Asus, after reading many good reviews about this motherboard. So far this motherboard has been performing very well. Installing the hardware was very easy. The instruction booklet was quite clearly written. Inside some PC cases connecting the IDE cables might be a little difficult because of the position of the connectors on the motherboard. I highly recommend this motherboard for a budget gaming PC. My only complaint so far has been the Asus software for BIOS update. It is not well designed and not very intuitive to use.

5 Star Review Great Motherboard

Strengths:

Integrated RAID, 64-Bit, BIOS Overclocking support, Quiet (no fans!), nVidia SLI support, works with Core 2 Duo

Weaknesses:

none

Posted Nov 24, 2006 - ASUS has really done it with this board. With all the features they have packed in with this plus the price makes it a good deal for around $115. Would definitely buy again.

4 Star Review Completely Satisfied

Strengths:

ASUS quality, features, capabilities and costs.

Weaknesses:

Minor - was has become mute: Need to update the BIOS to properly work with the E6420 CPU. Once that's done and minor timing & voltage adjustments are made with memory, you have a stable platform.

Posted Jun 12, 2007 - I've used ASUS many time, but recently updated from my old Ahtlon64 (754). What a difference with the CPU combined with the motherboard. I have no real complaints about the board, utilities, or even the bundled Vista driver CD. I don't overclock any component on my system and yet I'm thrilled at the performance difference from my previous platform. Would recommend to anyone and will probably buy another for a PC I'm building for my son.

5 Star Review Great motherboard with great features

Strengths:

Lots of space for expansion, SATA support plus EIDE, quiet design (fanless). Great utilities from ASUS.

Weaknesses:

This is minor, but the floppy plugs into the side of the motherboard that's extremely opposite where I have to put my floppy drive.

Posted Jul 7, 2007 - Great motherboard for my needs (casual home user). Installation was easy. I appreciate the support for dual video PCI-Express x16 cards. I would definitely recommend this card and will buy again from ASUS in the future.
