5 Star Review Easy to Work With

Strengths:

This was my first time building a computer from scratch. This board made it easy, everything laid out in logical positions, instructions made everything easy to locate. The uguru feature is great.

Weaknesses:

The uguru program is alittle hard to work with, the GUI does not allow you mess with any of your settings you have to do that in a dialogue box.

Posted Oct 19, 2007 - So far this board has made it too easy to overclock my X3210. Just a few clicks here and your processor is overclocked. From the factory ABIT has it set so your processor is slightly overclocked wich is nice I guess. Only thing that botthers me is the motherboard stays lit (red led and post readout) when the computer is off. Overall I cant complain at all

5 Star Review IP35 Pro

Strengths:

Awesome overclocking, LED Diagnostic Screen on motherboard, supports fsb 1333, CMOS RESET on outside of motherboard. 4 pin power connectors.

Weaknesses:

no ddr3 support. wish led diagnostic could show cpu temp. color scheme is off (Red light, green light, green diagnostic)

Posted Aug 7, 2007 - This has been the best motherboard I have ever worked with. For starters the overclocking is amazing and when i do push the board too far and my computer wont boot up, what do i do? I push up a little switch on the back of the motherboard outside the case and push it back down and im all set to go. Sounds Amazingly simple? Well it is. This makes it worth the money for me. In addition restart and power switches are on the motherboard. LEd diagnostic isnt used too much. The heatsinks do not block the way of my ultra 120 extreme heatsink so thats a plus. Plenty of 3/4 pin fan connectors. Bios update took awhile to come out with.

5 Star Review Cool and Excellent MB for the money

Strengths:

Cool design & temp, 3 PCI slots on top of 2 PCI-e x16. Great Price for what you get. BIOS is easily updatable & flashable with external switch. Nothing to remove from the backside to fit the heatsink.

Weaknesses:

The firewire connection on MB gets blocked with large video cards (the ones that take 2 slots). Side facing SATA ports and only 6 of them. 2nd PCI-e x16 is limited for full Crossfire.

Posted Aug 26, 2007 - This is an excellent MB. I bought the low end P35-E and liked it so much, I bought the high end P35Pro as well. You get eSATA, heatpipes, 3 PCI slots (the main reason I didnt buy the Gigabyte's P35 DS3P). Other P35 MBs with heatpipes will cost over $200 but this MB is nicely priced. You get all the features you'd expect from high end MBs at moderate price. Although it has it's share of cons, as long as you dont plan to do SLI or Crossfire (since limited) setup, this is one of the best MB to get.

4 Star Review Smooth like a breeze

Strengths:

Stability,Ability to overclock, very efficent cooling system

Weaknesses:

only 1 pci express 1x slot, the additional pci express power jack is located at a very inconvinient place

Posted Oct 9, 2007 - Overall, this is a great motherboard, if not the best. The quality of this board is great. Put a q6600 on it, OC'ed to 350x9 without touching anything in the bios. Mounted a tuniq tower 120(it's huge) without any problem. It runs fast and cool. The major complaint of mine is the location of the additional pci express power jack. it's below one of the pci slot and I basically can't install any pci device there because of the space limit. And I dont' like the way how the pata cable and sata data cable sockets are oriented. It's just hard to plug those cables.

5 Star Review Great Motherboard, Choose this NOT ASUS P5K

Strengths:

Heatsink, DDR2, uniQue Sata port :) support QUAD Core, CMOS Button in the back

Weaknesses:

uquru software is a little buggy, but who cares as long as the board stay solid. Ethernet LAN is on PCI not PCI-xpress

Posted Aug 12, 2007 - I was debating between Asus P5K deluxe WIFI vs This board and finally after doing lots and lots of searching on the internet, reading over reviews after reviews and comments from happy AND Unhappy users, i finally decide to purchase this board because for me the + outweigh the -. The price is $40-50 cheaper than average p35 board so you can use it to buy other components.

5 Star Review Easiest and most versatile board I have ever used

Strengths:

Comes with almost everything on board. Extremely versatile

Weaknesses:

* Direction of SATA connectors may be difficult to use * Single IDE connector could be issue for older components

Posted Feb 7, 2008 - This is the best motherboard I have ever used. The array of features is stunning. It does far more than I need. All I needed to add was a video card (8800GT). I am using it with a quad core processor and its running great. I have not overclocked it, but I hear that is a breeze as well. Everything is well laid out and installation was simple.

5 Star Review Great Motherboard for Overclocking

Strengths:

CMOS reset switch, P35 chipset, LED Diagnostic, E SATA ports

Weaknesses:

Size of passive cooling for bridges

Posted Nov 4, 2007 - I tried to choose a board for easy overclocking, me being a rookie. The install and BIOS setup was super easy. Manuals for the MOBO was thorough and complete. Uguru was helpful in my first overclocking attempt. The CMOS reset also comes in handy w/o having to open the case to reset. Haven't got a chance to utilize the LED to diagnosis boot problems but seems helpful. The board also had plenty of room for my EVGA 8800 GTS videocard. Only issue I had was my Arctic Cooling Freeze Pro 7 barely had enough room beside the bridges passive cooling heatpipe. All in all has been super stable. I would highly recommend

4 Star Review nice motherboard, great overclocker

Strengths:

easy install, good overclocking, easy to reset board, fault code led indicator on board

Weaknesses:

a bit pricey, sata connectors are very hard to access in my case, only one ide connector

Posted Jan 30, 2008 - this is a nice upgrade from an ip35-e that i had previously been using. it has firewire support built in so no need to use up a pci slot for that. it was a quick setup to build with no real problems encountered. however, the sata connectors lie directly behind my hard drives making it impossible to access without removing the drives. overall a good board with a small design layout problem.

5 Star Review A great board

Strengths:

Supports FBS1333, solid state caps, FireWire on board, eSATA ports

Weaknesses:

Location of SATA connectors, only 1 IDE port

Posted Jan 29, 2008 - I was looking for a future-proof MB. After reading the extraordinary reviews that this board got from users and experts, I decided to go ahead and get it. I'm glad I did. This has been the most stable board I have ever owned, considering I have had problems with my Pentium D 945 on my previous MB. I have to say though that the location of the 6 SATA ports makes it a little hard to plug/unplug stuff. The Intel RAID feature works seamlessly. I have two RAID 1 arrays (total of 4 HDs) that I transferred from my previous intel MB and didn't have to do anything for them to start working immediately on this MB. Also, I have two DVD-RW units attached to the only IDE port and they work fine (appareently, the JMicron controller that this board uses for IDE and eSATA is not well regarded, but like I said, no problems here.) I wish there was an extra IDE port available for my PATA HD but oh well. Fortunately, I haven't had a need for the diagnostics code display feature but it is reassuring to have it available should problems arise. Vista x86 installed most drivers out of the box, except for the audio drivers. I did download the most recent drivers anyway. All in all, an excellent motherboard. Highly recommended.

5 Star Review High Quality Motherboard with lots of Features Builtin

Strengths:

Extremely Stable, highly Overclockable, eSATA and Firewire connectors on the Motherboard and finally External CMOS Reset Switch.

Weaknesses:

Little odd in the position of SATA Connectors and muguru seems little unstable

Posted Oct 29, 2007 - I bought this Abit motherboard after looking at all the P35 motherboards. Abit is offering an excellent feature set for the price. This motherboard has been rock stable from get go. I have had some issues with Overclocking but most of them are from my end. I have 2GB of 1066 memory and I could reach 480MHz without any sweat. Very happy with the way the motherboard is performing right now. Two thumbs up to Abit for bringing a hight quality motherboard with an affordable price.

4 Star Review Quality-Built and Loaded with Useful Features!

Strengths:

Solidly-built; well-documented; loaded with great features

Weaknesses:

SATA and IDE connectors located on side of mobo, rather than on top

Posted Oct 25, 2007 - I bought this motherboard based on the favorable reviews at PG; I'm very happy with my purchase. The board was generally easy to set up, thanks to the excellent, detailed user's manual and the many useful features. The board has been very stable thus far. The "Guru" utility is excellent because it allows the user not only to monitor critical performance measures, but also to adjust voltage, clock speed, fan speeds, and other variables at the click of the mouse. The board is big; it barely fits into my Lexa mid-tower case. That is one reason why I wish the SATA and IDE connectors were on the face of the board, rather than on the side. Except for that minor difficulty, the board was a breeze to set up. BTW, the simple switch to reset the BIOS is ingenious!

4 Star Review Need a fairly priced little screamer?

Strengths:

Price-$150.00 after rebate, Stable, PCB Layout, Nice overclocking BIOS, I even like the powder blue color

Weaknesses:

None for the board, but I didn't send my rebate by the due date. Last day for rebates on Presidents Day? Gimme a break, USPS is closed!

Posted Oct 17, 2007 - This is my first Intel board, and I like it...I like it alot. I put an E6850 in the socket and it's steady at 3.4. First time I've overclocked, and it made me look like a Pro. I ended up buying some 90 degree right angle SATA connectors for those pesky connectors on the edge of the board...no harm, no foul. This boards a winner, and if it doesn't make you look like an overclocking pro, nothing will!

5 Star Review Abit is back with IP35 PRO!

Strengths:

Great overclocking! Running Q6600 at 3.5 Ghz at 1.41 vcore. Layout is good and uGURU is great for overclocking from windows. Worked right out of the box and installed latest drivers from Abit.

Weaknesses:

sata port positions can be a pain in certain cases. Vdroop is kinda bad

Posted Sep 25, 2007 - Great board overall. I give it 5 stars for any system builder. It's stable, great layout (aside from sata ports) and haven't had any BIOS issues or hardware conflicts. Heatpipe cooling should be okay but had to mod the heatpipes to get maximum cooling from it.
