only movie i have liked robin williams in... although birdcage was ok. he is just too much for me. IMO.

Top((Spoilers in here...not that anyone's going to see this flick again)) This movie was pure sap, emotional drivel in all its disgusting glory. You could tell when it's time to cry, because the piano ensemble would thunder in the background telling you to. It told me to cry when Patch's [much younger] girlfriend was cryptically killed, but rather than tear up, all I could do was think "What the hell just happened?!" The main message of this movie is: Rules are bad, authority is eeevil! And of course, acting like an idiot will cheer up all terminally ill people. I don't think I've ever seen a more mindless movie than this.

TopRobin Williams has again proven that he can play just about any role and be believable. I've always considered Robin Williams to be a comedian, but this combined with his performance in "Good Will Hunting" proves that he is a first class actor as well. Most don't realize that this is actually based on a true story, and "Patch Adams" really is a doctor. I think that many find it to be "unrealistic" because in our greedy and selfish culture, people like Patch, who care about others, are scarce.

TopRobin Williams was good as Patch Adams the doctor wanted to treat the person and treat them with compassion. The movie was based on the real life Patch Adams.The scenes with Patch and the patients were good.Oh how it would be nice to have more doctors who have the compassion that Patch Adams has.

TopI am all for movies that made from real life drama. In my opinion, I hope that it struck a nerve in the medical community. I don't know about you, but I get sick of being treated as an insurance claim when I walk through that emergency room.

TopThis was a pretty good movie. Funny and serious at the same time, this movie holds your interest all the way through. Everyone in the movie does a great job and this great story is told really well.

TopPatch Adams hit on a reality that many doctors fail to realize... you need to care about your patients and treat them with care. Many times people get hurt or are sick and there's nothing worse than sitting in an an office waiting for some arrogant know it all doctor to write a prescription for Robitissin.

TopRobin Williams' dramatic cry alongs get really old in Patch Adams. The movie starts out okay but soon progresses into an overly dramatic movie that will bore you to tears.

TopRobin Williams is great in this movie. His comic genius really shines. The ending is great, although I'll never feel the same about jello.

TopPatch Adams is a good movie. Robin Williams is at his best. Not only is it dramatic, but funny. The supporting actress does a wonderful job bringing Patch Adams down from his cloud of silliness. But he rubs off on her and his fellow classmates at a prestigious medical school. Soon they are making patients laugh and driving the dean of the school crazy. It's a must see.

TopI really like movies that are true or based on true stories. Patch Adams showed a man who was as low as can be and he pulled himself up and made it to med school. I love how he was with the patients, and I loved his attitude about patients and medicine.

TopI really liked this movie. There's a lot of controversy over it though, whether a doctor and trained physician would ever act like a clown for his patients, despite what the real Patch Adams did (it's based on a true story). I think it was a very touching movie.

TopThe drama movie Patch Adams was very unrealistic. The patients are diagnosed in the movie but not enough, specifically, the self mutilator who ends up killing the female doctor and himself. Self mutilators, particularly people who cut themselves, hardly ever hurt others. It's all about self-infliction. I know this because I am one and have researched the issue extensively.

TopPatch Adams is a great movie. It is different from others. It has a unique story that you don't get in everyday movies. It is inspiring to all people to be the best we can and to care about other people, not just ourselves.

TopI went to this film prepared to love it since I generally love Robin Williams movies. While it had its moments of comedy and sorrow, the film didn't draw me in as I thought it would. I found myself not really caring about the characters when it told a story that should have been very touching. In all, it came close to being a good movie but just wasn't there.

TopRobin Williams is brilliant. He is hilarious in this movie. There are a few sad moments, but what's a good movie without one. At least it ends in a great way and surprises the audience with his nude butt.

TopRobin Williams was great for this movie. He showed how to stand up for yourself when everyone is against you. Movie tells you not to give up- be persistent. Although it was pretty sad, the movie was good because it was based on a true story.

TopI liked this particular story because it is a moving story with comedy and drama. Patch Adams went out of his way to prove that laughter could be a treatment used in medicine. He made people smile when they were dying inside.

TopThis is an awesome, incredible movie!! One of the best out, and one of my favorites!! The story is almost too powerful for its own good, as the slightly emotional among us probably had trouble staying dry-eyed through parts. But, it never got overly sappy at all - never pathetic. Just a great, warm, incredible movie. Patch Adams, the man, has become one of my true to life heros.
