Top1.5. Bad but despite the presence of Ben Affleck, not thoroughly wretched. Colin Farell played an evil Irish villain . Being by now used to the inane comments and thinly disguised racism that flourishes on here, I am astonished that there have been NO complaints that The Kingpin was not white. 24 previous remarks haven't bitched about that, knock on wood..

TopI love the Daredevil comics. I believe DD, particularly as portrayed by Frank Miller, and later by Brian Michael Bendis, is one of the most realistic characters in superhero comics (by which, I mean that his behavior and thoughts make a lot of sense). ~~~ That said, I HATED this movie. It basically took everything real about DD and either reduced it to a shred of a single dimension, or it removed it altogether. ~~~ Where, for example, is the powerful sense of justice that leads DD to rage against Bullseye after Bullseye kills two of DD's loved ones, beat him up - then save his life? That DD is nowhere to be found. Instead, we have a DD who beats up a barful of people in order to get to one guy, then lets that guy die and jeers as he does so. ~~~ Where is the Matt Murdock who endures a chaotic barrage of senses and painstakingly learns to control them and to focus, and learns to use them with a great deal of help from a rather abusive sensei? Gone. Instead, we have a Matt Murdock who learns to control his senses in a matter of minutes, then magically acquires amazing acrobatic skills, without having to earn them. ~~~ Where is the man who suffers pain, constantly questions right and wrong, and tries to cope with his world dissolving into chaos, again and again, and sometimes irrationally takes it out on everybody around him? Nowhere to be found. Oh, this guy irrationally punishes everybody around him - but he does it BEFORE anything happens to him - FOR NO APPARENT REASON! ~~~ Where is the intelligent lawyer who truly believes in the law? Good question. He's not here. This guy only defends innocent clients, and his behavior in the courtroom has no resemblance to real law. ~~~ Where is the intelligent guy with a secret identity to protect? Definitely not here. This guy will get into a high-level martial arts fight with a black belt woman, in public, out of costume. For no apparent reason. ~~~ Incidentally, and speaking of fights... aside from the fact that most of the fighting was completely pointless, there was also a little problem with the CGI. In that it was quite obviously taken from the Matrix. Now, I loved the Matrix. And I loved the SFX in the Matrix. The SFX made sense in the Matrix, because the Matrix is largely set in a universe where the laws of physics could be broken at will. Unlike this universe. DD is *supposed* to be set in a place where, if you take a running leap, the leap will carry forward. Not 15 feet straight up. ~~~ This movie was just wrong. I really wish I hadn't seen it.

TopI enjoyed the movie, I expected it to suck because of Ben Affleck being in it, but I liked it, I liked it a lot. He did a good job, so did Garner. Good movie.

TopWhen I came into watching this movie, I was expecting something not too great. I really enjoyed it once I watched it and it succeeded my greatest expectation. Plus, Jennifer Gardner is a great actor, WATCH HER IN THE TV SHOW ALIAS! Ben Affleck also did a great job in this film.

TopI wouldn't call myself a Ben Affleck fan, but I didn't have a problem with him playing Daredevil. I thought the plot needed a little work, and the character development was lacking, to say the least, but the effects were good, and at least it wasn't boring. It definitely was not better than Spiderman, however, and it absolutely sucked that they killed off his girlfriend.

TopI was amazed to find the best superhero movie of late (Xmen, Spiderman, Hulk) was this one. A marvelous story with above average acting and amazing action sequences. Many may not know the comic book story and it doesn't matter much anyway. Still, it is worth noting how much like the comic book this movie felt. In story and in atmosphere. I was quite pleased to have finally seen this movie and recommend it highly.

TopIt surpassed my expectations. The CGI was well done as were the fight scenes. The comic book movie genre has been ressurected with the sucess of X-men. So that explains the sudden boom of comic book movies. Ben Affleck gave a surprising performance in this movie and I don't think it's fair to judge a whole movie based solely on one's grudge against Ben Affleck.

TopMy daughter and I went to see this movie not really knowing a whole lot about the flick other than it was about a blind superhero. While the movie did have a few parts that wasn’t really great, the movie was still pretty good. I enjoyed it.

Topif i thought it was worth 5 stars i would shoot myself in the face or better yet shoot myself in the rectum it would be slower and more painful-- screw anyone whoe liked this terrible film if you can call it a film-- a porno has a better plot and acting- jesus h christ wake up hollywood

TopLets face the facts...with all the new marvel comic movies that are out this one hasnt lived up to the expectations like others such as spiderman and xmen....but it is good. The CGI (computer animated imaging) is amazing and this makes the film worth watching. I am personaly getting a bit bored of the comic book hero films and this one isn't anything special from the recent buntch. Overall its enjoyable to watch and the fight sceens are extreamly well created so i rated highly for it...all fans of spider man should go see this film but if your not, then you should maybe give it a miss.

Topi was shaky about giving this movie five stars, but deep down, i think it's worth it. it's fine storytelling. okay, the kingpin is a little too mu-hu-ha-ha-ha sometimes, and the carnage of the fight scenes tends to detract from the characters' identities... if only you could have two and a half hours of posturing and line delivery, like you do in the comics. to some extent, elektra is just a girl with sais, daredevil is just a creep in a kinky costume, and kingpin is just a hood. bullseye is just deranged, and he's a lot of fun. but this movie's got heart, and it's incredibly well shot and timed out, and it has a great sense of humor. it stays faithful to the comic as much as it can, with affleck (p-u) nailing murdock, who more or less is a mannequin in the books, when not flaying somebody's ass. the supporting characters are extremely well done, almost to the point of overkill, and everybody in the movie seems to be willing to bring this silly superhero story to life. of all the comic book vigilantes ever to hit the screen, this torn up, beat up, drugged up, messed up guy is the best and most believable, and maybe the most cheerable. a definite must see.

TopDespite a fine supporting cast and great special effects, the film is a mis-match of violence and sex, with a mediocre screenplay and bad usage of it's two main performers. Only for the devoted fans.

TopThis movie is not a monumental piece of cinema so your attitude going into it will determine a lot. Those who are SERIOUS comic buffs will no doubt find flaws but, considering the genre, the overall film is done well. To really enjoy it, remember that it is an adaptation from a storyline that's been around a long time and is fantasy. Affleck and Garner do credible jobs but the real highlights are Duncan's Kingpin and Ferrell's Bulleye (whom I wish they had done more with character-development-wise).There's a ton of action and a little more violence than just high-wire martial arts. Probably a bit too much for the real little ones and not for the serious cinema-goer. I have come to expect certain things from comic book adaptation movies and that's the reason I enjoyed this film. Take it for what it is. Guys, you'd better know for a FACT that your girl likes this kind of movie (or drools over Affleck) of she might get bored. Although I do know a few women who liked Electra because she "kicked butt" (direct quote from two sources). Gals, good chance your man will dig this one (fair warning; Jennifer Garner is that hot and don't think Hollywood didn't costume her accordingly).

Passable entertainment even if it is a little derivative.

The whole movie was okay, not too bad and not amazing. The plot could have been more clear and organized. I think that Elecktra should have had a bigger impact before she dies. It seemed kind of like, "It's there, now it's not." They could have done a little more with the whole concept of Justice.
