This movie taught the obvious lesson that McDonalds is bad for you

TopIt's a total common sense issue! The movie showed a man overindulge on well known crap food Im going to make a movie where I drink 6 beers and 2 shots each day for a whole month.

TopIt did serve a purpose and it was worth getting out there. Too many people dont pay attention to things unless its entertaining. Ive found that there are a lot of ignorant people and this subject (fast food) is a problem. So, all you whiners that dont contribute to the betterment of society and put down someone for trying to make a difference can continue to pack on the pounds at MickeyDs. BTW, 6 beers and 2 shots a day would be, well, less than entertaining, good luck.

TopI think there were several flaws with this mans experament. Its fine that he wanted to bring the "truth" to everyone and it did have a few interesting facts, but for the most part it was irrelevant. He went from an extremely healthy diet to eating meals the size that would make most people sick. He drank two sodas with every meal, which most people don't, and if you pay attention oftentimes he has burgers, fries, sodas, apple pies, parfaits, and other items all in one sitting. Of course he got sick. It is widely known that this food is not good for you, which is why most people don't eat it three times a day.

TopWhat a waste of a movie... If Americans want to eat fast food, let them eat it. This was just a stupid movie about a man who wanted to prove how bad it was for us. Anything you eat 3 times a day for 30 days isn't going to turn out pretty. What an imbecile

Topgross. IMO.

TopWell if you overlook the fact that his assertions about McDonald's are complete supposition based on scientifically inadmissible evidence then the film is only, well, a piece of crap. Mr. Spurlock makes no compelling case against McDonald's or fast food in general. He accuses McDonald's of being interested only in the bottom line, yet when his doctor's advise him to discontinue his "experiment" he bravely forges on so he can finish his film and sell it to the masses. Who's interested in the bottom line now Mr. Spurlock?

TopCan't give a 'terrible' because I watched it to completion, and I don't finish "terrible" movies. However, it did make me mad thinking about what p*ssies Americans have become. Some people don't care about their health - that is NOBODY'S business. If you don't like it, don't eat it. Personally, the flick just made me hungry. I'm not uninformed, brainwashed by ads, etc. McDonalds taste good, my kid liked Janet Jackson's t%tty, I'm well read and intelligent enough to listen to Eminem without killing my wife, and I smoke tobacco just like people have for centuries. Lay off! IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT- DON"T F%CKING EAT IT. What I do is nobody's business. And yes, I'm going to hell, Christians - have fun in heaven with all the boring people. I'll say hello to Hendrix and Hemingway for ya.

Top"That's gotta be the fattest place in the world!" That's what I said during the part, which stated 3/5 fattest cities in America are in Texas. The funny thing was, I never meant to say that it was the fattest place in the world, but the fattest place in America. I thought my mouth had said something different from what my brain was thinking. But it’s true. America is the fattest country, and Texas is the fattest state. My brain had done the math for me... I mean don't you see Texas? You are the envy of the world! Starving people look at your fat ass and say "Whoah! That guy looks happy. He’s fat!" While most of us in North America are absolutely disgusted at the sight of you, the rest of the world wants to be you. They don't care about the skinny people on T.V. Most of you look at T.V. people and wonder why you can't look like that. In a starving society, those people are common looking, of course without the excessive make up. But to a third world country, you look healthy. In fact you look like you could go without any food at all for five years, and still be a healthy tribesman. Maybe fat people are the reason that so many risk life and limb to come to America. You can probably hear them on the boat saying, "Yo, when I get to America, I'm gonna get so fat, I'm gonna look like Marlon Brando, and genetically alter animals to carry me on a chair around my own private island." "Oh yeah, well I'm gonna be Orson Wells fat mothaf***a. I'm gonna be so fat, that I'm gonna crush my fat wife with my fat flabby rolls of fat. How's that fat for you?" "Whatever you bony bastard. Just wait until your wife gets a taste of my fat. She'll be like, 'oh Hector, you so faaat'." Yes, it's a crazy mixed up world we live in. If only these foreign onlookers knew the truth; That you guys aren't healthy, and that you certainly aren't happy. Maybe if those immigrants knew that fast food is only nourishing as a last resort, and that people become addicted to it like cigarettes, then it would cut down on people coming to America illegally. Nahhh, I mean, I'd probably rather be McDonalds fat than starving too. I'm sure starving people are addicted to any food. Besides, McDonalds is all over the world now. Surely this can't be the reason for making America fat, if places like China have McDonalds now... Or maybe China will be full of fat people in 30 years, since they just got it. We all know McDonalds food is disturbing, but considering the condition that the world is in today, I am more concerned with the Coca Cola Corporation. It's the same corporation that franchises McDonalds restaurants. Now here's a fact. Coca Cola funded the Nazis, along with various other American corporations. It's not surprising; after all whether it be Germany or America, it's all wasp money. And boy, am I glad that the good common citizens of America enjoyed their freedom, more then their big business corporations back then. The same corporations were keeping America out of that war. If it weren't Pearl Harbour inciting you to go against Germany’s ally, they would have kept out of the war until Germany had taken over Europe. If however Japan were an ally of Britain like it was before the war, then I'm sure Pearl Harbour would have caused America to join Germany. Shocking, I know. It's all good America, I mean how could you have known? Here we have McDonalds, the biggest fast food chain in the world, also affiliated with the biggest soft drink in the world, with known connections to funding the actions of Adolph Hitler. But hey, listen to me; don't I sound pretty far-fetched? In fact you could go as far as to say I’m a little crazy for bringing up this crackpot theory. Hahahaha. Crazy DickDirk, with his crazy comments. What will that Dick think of next, huh? And I guess this crackpot theory, mixed with the fact that McDonalds is turning our planet into a fat useless bag of goo, and that it targets are children from the age of 1 so that McDonalds will be a part of our lifestyle, is purely coincidental. Sure that doesn't sound anything like what a Nazi would do. Why McDonalds has arches, not swastikas. You don't see McDonalds logos on your troops uniforms... just everywhere else. You know what? Don't listen to me. This couldn't possibly be all true. This whole McDonalds/Nazi connection is so scary, that I'm sure it's just too realistic to be true. Never mind America. Go back to eating whatever you want. It's a free country that you live in, and never forget that... As for me, I've got to thank the man who teaches me Lighting and Camera techniques. He was the director of photography for the movie "It". I'm going to shake his hand and say, "I’m going to use your scary clown movie to scare my children of Ronald McDonald. They'll think the playhouse is a death trap that stunts your growth, and the food will turn you into a big scary monster." At least it's technically honest.

TopFast food is like cigarettes...we all know they it's bad for you but I still see people doing it. McDonald's would go out of business forever (hooray!) if we stopped going there. It amazes me that people don't consider fighting to get 'good health' back back on the menu.

TopExcessive? Yes. Alarming? Most certainly. Funny? Relentlessly. In this film, Morgan Spurlock merely drove home, in irrevocable, undeniable and not uncertain terms something those of us with two brain cells already know: that 95% of junk food is total crap (they don't call it "junk food" for nothing) and can be downright harmful to you if you overindulge. However, obviously millions of Americans have less than two brain cells when you consider how many of them are stuffing their faces at this very moment in the countless, various culinary crapatoriums found in every strip mall and on every highway in our grossly obese and flab-disgusting country. It used to be that the average waist size for adult men in the U.S. was 36 inches: today, it's like 42. The average dress size for women used to be eight: today, it's 14. Lazy, ignorant, gluttonous and self-destructive slobs that they are, Americans need a movie like this much more than they need a 700 calorie soft drink, a 600 calorie super order of fries or a 550 calorie Big Mac. What was disconcerting about this film was: (1) Spurlock gained something like 27 pounds in a month of eating McBowel; (2) he was at the verge of compromising his liver from such a high-fat diet (even one of his own physicians was amazed), and (3) eating all that feces on a bun even made him, in the words of his girlfriend, "less of a man than he used to be." What was sad in this film was that scene featuring the pretty, but very overweight teenage girl, who, citing the supposedly healthy and fat-reducing qualities of Subway (vomit) sandwiches, bemoans the fact that she can't afford to eat there twice a day. The funniest bit? When Spurlock ate the triple quarter pounder and almost immediately gave it back, hurling out the window of his vehicle. They even panned the camera out the window of the car so that the audience could see the upchuck spewed on the ground. Now, there's a documentarian dedicated to getting all the facts on film!

TopI cited this movie in my rating of McDonald's food not too long ago, so my rant toward Mickey D's still stands. But, in reaction to this movie, every one should go see it. For their health. Not that I eat much fast food, but since I have seen this movie it is unlikely that I ever will again. I have even thought of buying a copy on dvd to control my late night binges. Trust me, this movie will make you feel like a fat american, even if you are not. Most of all, I was impressed with the amount of research that went into this movie. Its claims were grounded and arguments were well supported (though there was no main underlying statement such as DONT EAT FAST FOOD!). The best part about this movie is that it has sparked neccessary change. Since the movie was released McDonalds no loner offers Super Size Meals and I am noticing more and more articles focusing on an individual's portion size for a meal. I know that many of you refuse to give up that big mac and fries, but I still urge you to watch this movie, it really might change your mind.

TopI have to disagree that people have a legitimate case against McDonald's and other fast-food corporations for making people obese. It's just common sense to avoid overindulgence in overly-processed fast-food and I don't like the movement towards excessive warnings that seems to be taking place in this country. (You should know that hot coffee can burn you without a warning on the side of the cup, for example.) That said, I really enjoyed this movie. It's clear how much time and research went into the film, but most impressive was Spurlock's disregard for personal health in his effort to complete the 30-day experiment. I had to hold myself back from cheering when the 30 days was finally up and his vegan girlfriend could start feeding him "real" food again.

TopThe film makes a valuable point about overindulgence. As for laying the blame of an obese society on McDonald's doorsteps, those claims are less fair. Truth is, you can eat far too many calories in any setting, and get the same harsh results as the McDonald's experiment. Another documentary could show that cholesterol and a body fat can decrease by eating typical McDonald's food, if that habit went hand in hand with switching to more sensible portion sizes. McDonald's, though far from perfect, is a little better at allowing for healthful eating than other chains. It is actually the full-service chain restaurants (like Cheesecake Factory) who do more in terms of overfeeding customers. The body can take the occasional feast, but definitely not as a daily habit. If the documentary focussed more on daily pigging out in a variety of social settings, it would be more intellectually honest.

TopJust as Michael Moore spread lies about America in Farenheight 9/11 because he actually hates America, I have no doubt Spurlock used this as anti-fast food propaganda. Putting aside the fact that a reality "movie" should never be made, this movie is biased in the fact that McDonald's is all he eats. I mean, he doesn't even take any nutritional supplements for goodness sakes. Even I, a fast food fan, know that you can't eat fast food every meal and that vitamins are necessary for optimal operation. Even more, this movie is so anti-fast food as to make me sick. As I believe someone said, "Give me Chick-Fil-A or give me death!"

TopWell, the movie aside's seems pretty vapid. A guy going to Fast Food joints for 30 days and eating nothing, but it shows you how continually munching down fast food only is bad for your health mentally and physically.
