Posted Nov 15, 2005 - I actually saw them film part of this movie in Boonton, NJ, in 1983. Not that that predisposed me toward liking it; I thought the finished product was a horrible piece of garbage. I'm all for encouraging the making of low-budget movies, especially low-budget horror movies, but there needs to be a requisite amount of talent and imagination involved in the formation of said low-budget movies, or why waste everybody's time? Not even entertaining in a so-bad-it's-good sort of way. If you're a hard-core masochist in search of punishment, go see an Ed Wood movie instead of this tripe...

Posted Jul 8, 2003 - I have enjoyed some Troma movies but this wasn't one of them. Troma deserves major applause for originality and effort in its movies. This movie ,as with all Troma endeavors, lacks any feeling that the actors were anything but subpar. Perhaps that is one of the charms of their films. Even so, the plot is so ridiculously juvenile it makes the script for Bride of Chucky look like an oscar winner. Poor script, bad acting and no "scare quotient" whatsoever. It doesn't get a 1 simply because Troma does make good movies. I tend to look at Troma movies more as parodies anyway. They can be quite funny. Being funny however is not what gets it to the top of the HORROR list. A little less childlike script and just a tad better acting and this would have been okay. Troma fans will rent it. One thing I know is how loyal they are. Everyone else can decide for themselves... A funny horror movie isn't always bad, they just aren't scary.

Posted Oct 17, 2002 - This is a sick twisted movie, which also happens to be highly entertaining. However, what it's doing in the horror section is anybody's guess. It's a comedy, people.

Posted Apr 17, 2001 - not the best troma movies, but definately one of the better ones. this movie is really funny, and it had a lot of really far out, original stuff that only the sick, genius mind of lloyd kauffman could dream up. as for the acting and effects go , well, its definately troma. a must see, troma classic, i mean how can you say you have lived if you havent seen the toxic avenger?
