The Sansa m200 Series MP3 players add to SanDisk?s growing line of products for the audio market. Created by the leaders in flash memory, this flash-based model provides high-quality digital music playback at an affordable price. As a replacement to our original Digital Audio Player line, this improved look also includes Sansa?s excellent navigation: songs sorted by title, artist, album, genre as well as playlist support. The Sansa m200 Series MP3 players are one of the first to provide Microsoft PlaysForSure Subscription support. The 2GB of memory plays over 32 hours of MP3s, or save your songs in WMA format for almost double the capacity! A single AAA battery lasts for up to 19 hours, so you?ll be jamming through even the longest sessions. It?s easy to navigate by title, album, genre and playlist on the indigo backlit LCD. minimize

5 Star Review Great Product

Strengths:

Easy to operate, fine sound, great price.

Weaknesses:

N/A

Posted Jan 7, 2006 - Really enjoy this player. My brother, who is a long distance runner, purchased an mp3 player with a hard drive. Skipped early and often. We bought him an internal flash mp3 and he has had no problems. Very much appreciate the fact that this player has fm tuner and holds 2 gigs. Great buy.

3 Star Review If your looking for a good mp3 player under $150......

Strengths:

Large storage capacity, conveniently small, has additional features such as fm radio, arm strap etc. Great price for what you get! Sound quality is pretty good.

Weaknesses:

Had to download additional software from website to use all the functions, instructions do not cover all the menu's for the player, Had to reformat player to use all the memory space.

Posted Feb 24, 2006 - I bought this mp3 player b/c i wanted something to run with that wouldn't skip. I Had problems figuring out how to work all the functions such as the favorites and playlist menu's. I called customer service and they were very helpful. I would suggest not using windows media to automatically sync with the device b/c it will copy files multiple times. It's not extremely easy to operate, but overall a good deal.

5 Star Review Awesome MP3 Player!

Strengths:

Lots of battery life, good-quality sound, has an FM radio, easy to find songs.

Weaknesses:

Not so good backlight, instructions are not that clear.

Posted Mar 16, 2006 - When christmas came around, I was looking for an MP3, the ipod nano looked good, but it was just too expensive. So I went to the store looked around, and saw this one. After researching a little, a bought it. At only about $119.99, it was worth it! This MP3 is an awesome choice. With 19 hours of playback with one AAA battery, it sure beats the ipod nano. (My brother has one and he has to charge it every 3 days). The backlight isn't that strong, but you can still see. Definitly the best choice! NOTE: If you put WMA songs on it, you can hold much more space than MP3 files!

4 Star Review Cheap, good sound quality, compact and durible.

Strengths:

Simple interface. Good documentation. long battery life.

Weaknesses:

Backlight is a bit dim. Buttons feel a bit cheap and don't have much of a "click" when pressed. Thicker than picture leads you to believe.

Posted Jan 26, 2006 - I have owned three other MP3 players and this is by far the best for the money. If you are looking for a high volume for a low price then this is the way to go. I like the fact that it is compact and simple to navigate. The USB connection is better than a thumb drive style MP3 player because the cord can be left in your computer rather than plugging it directly into your USB connect all the time. It is fairly durable, although the switches feel a bit cheap. Sound quality is comparable to my iPod, but the size is a real advantage.

5 Star Review good mp3 player for a great price

Strengths:

battery length, storage capacity, ease of downloading

Weaknesses:

more detailed instructions

Posted Jan 6, 2006 - I bought this player after my siblings got an mp3 player of the same size for Christmas It has all the same features as their players except I think the Sandisk can do more. It can even hold more songs if you download wma files vs. mp3. The instructions could be more detailed, but after fiddling around with it and using the CD-ROM that was enclosed, it has become easier to use. Great player for a lot cheaper than the player they got. The case feels a little cheap, but you can buy a protective case to help protect it from damage.

5 Star Review Great Bang for the Buck

Strengths:

Reliable, good quality music, FM radio, Sound recorder

Weaknesses:

Goes through the batteries faster than we'd like, but battery life can be extended by not using the light in the display.

Posted Nov 11, 2006 - I bought this for my husband for his birthday four months ago. At first, he couldn't see the need for such a thing, but now he never goes anywhere without it! He takes it to work and plugs it into a pair of really nice powered Altec Lansing computer speakers. It gets sound as good as any bookshelf stereo! It holds a ton of music and gets pretty clear FM signals. The voice recorder does a good job, too. My son and father both have iPods, and I would recommend this as a cheaper alternative any day. The sound quality is superb; we listen to jazz, soft rock and instrumentals.

4 Star Review Just what you've always wanted (well, almost)

Strengths:

Small, lightweight, good capacity, nice LCD light, menu navigation pretty good.

Weaknesses:

Radio stinks.

Posted Feb 15, 2006 - Capacity is pretty good for a wide selection of music. Pretty easy to use with the computer though it took us a bit to figure out that we needed to use Rapsody to make playlists (couldn't get anything else to work). I like the cover and strap it comes with as I use it when working out, so these are perfect. It has proven to be fairly durable. My 4 year old has managed to drop it a couple of times, but it continues to function without any problems (somehow it's not even scratched.) The ear bugs are okay, but most ear bugs aren't that good anyway, so what do you expect? I had read the radio didn't work all that well for some, but figured they may live in an area prone to difficulty. Not us, we live near a major city on a hill so shouldn't have any trouble, but nonetheless the reception stinks. So much for listening to the radio. I was surprised how easy the menu is to navigate - a major plus! Would definitely recommend this.

5 Star Review NANO KILLER ? MAYBE

Strengths:

USB 2, Auto Library Function, FM Radio, Auto FM Presets for Traveling, Shuffle Play Mode, 2 Gig for low cost, Small Size, Easy User Interface, AAA batery power, built in stopwatch & hole for lanyard.

Weaknesses:

Only 1 playlist available to use, Must use computer to delete files, no neck lanyard included and battery door does not fit tight.

Posted Feb 4, 2006 - I just got today from E-Bayer for $128.00. It is an upgrade from my 256 meg StarCombo Player that I paid the same price for 2 years ago. I considered the 2 gig Nano but price and FM reception sold me on the Sansa line. Also, being able to change out AAA batteries to keep rocking was important. The user interface was easy to learn. Custom settings for equalizer and backlight are nice to have. I use the player while doing adventure sports and at night camp via Radio Shack brand output cable to my boom box. The stated weakness is worth noting but no big deal. The single 30 song play list can be for your "Best Of" tunes to impress that special person or set the mood for a romantic encounter. Future Firmware update may enable on-board file deletions. A little tape on the inside of the battery door will snug up the fit. I used the quick release lanyard from my Star Combo, transferred about 64 CDs and I'm ready to go!!! Skip the cell phone MP3 gimmick. This is one of the smartest buys for a flash based music player you can make today. PS Flash base players and drives are expected to climb to over 100 gig in less than 2 years so don't over pay now for a hard drive based (IPOD) player.

5 Star Review Excellent choice for those not looking to spend a fortune

Strengths:

Durability, long battery life, easy to use

Weaknesses:

Awkward shaped, battery cover seems flimsy

Posted May 19, 2006 - I bought this player because I wanted something small I could take to the gym and I didn't want to invest in an Ipod. I am glad to say, I am very pleased with this purchase. It never skips, and the battery seems to last forever. I love the fact it runs on one AAA battery. Mine came with a little clear cover to protect it from scratches which is nice. The picture makes it look flat, but it is not. The control face is a flat surface, but the back where the battery goes is kind of curvy and bulky. I would reccomend getting this mp3 player if you are not looking to invest in a HD one like the Ipod. Great for jogging, or the gym.

4 Star Review Good little player

Strengths:

Good sound

Weaknesses:

Doesn't allow for user file making.

Posted Jun 12, 2006 - So far, I love this little player. The sound is great. And the readout is not too small. Decent sounding headphones. I just returned the Creative Muvo txfm because it would not show up as a removable drive in My Computer so I could not access the unit to add music to it. All of Creative tech could not solve the problem. Lots of other people have been having the same problem with Creative products. Anyhow, after 14 days of trying, I finally brought the Muvo back to the store and got the Sansdisk Sansa m250. I am saying this because this player connects to your computer using something called MTP format which solves the problem for people whose computer (and i think it's specifically the XP operating system) won't allow mp3 players to get assigned as a drive. Anyhow, one other thing, if you add your songs or talking files to the player in folders in order to organize them, the player ignores your folders and adds the files and the player sorts them out using ID tags. This was a nightmare to me because many of my files don't have ID tags and it was mixing my music files with talking files. But the good news is that you can make playlists using Windows Media Player interactively in order to organize your music and/or talking files. Just pop the Cd that comes with the player into your CD rom and install Windows Media Player 10, even if you already have it cause then the tutorial will come up to walk you through the basic steps of how to make playlists and sync them to your player.

5 Star Review Great little Player

Strengths:

Small, lightweight, Great Sound

Weaknesses:

Slow Fast forward

Posted Jan 10, 2006 - I bought this after my Dell DJ died (of course three weeks after the warranty expired). Although 20gb was nice, 2gb seemed like more than enough for me. Sound quality is great. Nice features, like voice recorder. Very small and lightweight, and excellent battery life. My only gripe is that I like to listen to lectures in mp3 format, and the fast forward is pretty slow, especially compared to my Dell DJ (the Dell was able to Fast Forward 50 mins. in just a few seconds!). Highly recommended.

5 Star Review Big Stuff in a Small Package

Strengths:

Easy to use, easy to navigate, sound is good, radio is clear, voice recording is easy to operate (and cool to use!).

Weaknesses:

Instructions could have more detail.

Posted Dec 29, 2005 - I purchased for my 10 year old daughter and she loves it! We wanted to delete a voice recording, which can be done easily, but the instructions are not included in the booklet -- their website was very helpful for this. Already ripped numerous cds easily and I had never done this before.

4 Star Review Sansa m250 2GB MP3 player

Strengths:

Ease of use. Menus for selection of artist, name of volume and then song were very easy to negotiate

Weaknesses:

No description of menus for artist selection, etc was in the literature before I bought the player.

Posted Apr 5, 2006 - As indicated above I felt the menus while not advertised were both a necessity and were actually easy to use. The product thus far is very satifactory. Sound quality is good.

4 Star Review CONVENIENT MP3 PLAYER

Strengths:

Easy to Use, Small and Light, Good Sound, Very Usable, Great Price

Weaknesses:

Back Lighting, could be stronger, Low batter keeps back light from luminating for duration set or at all.

Posted Mar 5, 2006 - For the price, you can't beat this little player. I spend a great deal of time on airplanes and in airports, so this is such a great little device instead of lugging around those 20 cd's. The easy use of selecting album, genre, artist, makes this thing a great MP3 for the price. The I series of player may have the name recognition, but overall I'd go for this one again.

5 Star Review Good value for 2GB

Strengths:

Awesome Price for amount of storage (under $125), easy to transfer songs in Win XP, easy enough to learn the menu system, Very decent FM tuner

Weaknesses:

no place for lanyard clip on unit(unless using the case)-- no direct connection into USB port.

Posted Feb 19, 2006 - Overall it is a good value purchase on the Sandisk M250. The storage amount per $$ is excellent. Most places are offering excellent prices with no rebates. I would purchase again.
