4 Star Review iPod nano 2nd Gen 2G great for child's first MP3 player

Strengths:

- great sound quality - thin but durable - battery lasts twice as long as original Nano - supports photos

Weaknesses:

- no built-in FM tuner or recording capability - 2G only comes in silver

Posted Jan 2, 2007 - My 11-year old daughter loves her iPod. It's the first MP3 player she's had. She had no problem learning how to use it or how to use the iPod Clickwheel. The sound quality is excellent. She likes the shiny color, but wished it came in pink. It doesn't come with alot of extras, but does have what you need for basic use: dock adapter, a USB cable for charging, a pair of white earphones and a basic instruction manual. She wished you could listen to the radio on it, but you have to buy a separate accessory to do that. Overall though, we are very pleased with it and recommend it to anyone, especially first-time users.

5 Star Review iPod nano 2nd generation

Strengths:

light, slim, stylish, easy to use and carry, high quality of sound

Weaknesses:

no FM tuner, no video, no recording function

Posted Dec 18, 2006 - I had a Samsung YP-D1Z (1G) for a year and now I bought my first iPod. My old Samsung seems to have more features (ex: recording, video, camera, and radio) and a bigger screen (1.8"), but I rarely used other features besides the FM tuner. iPod has a stylish look and a slim design, which makes it easy to fit in your pocket. 1.5" screen size is relatively less impressive. High quality of music. If you want a MP3 that provides you with basic/simple functions but greater sound quality, iPod nano will be the best choice.

5 Star Review iPod Nano 2nd Generation 2GB Silver

Strengths:

Easy navigation Bright Display Small and lightweight Attractive design

Weaknesses:

Accessories are expensive

Posted Nov 27, 2006 - Bought this as a gift for my wife. It is hard not to want to steal it away. It really is a great product. It took me a little bit to remember to hit the Menu button to go back to the previous menu, instead of hitting the Rewind button, but besides that, navigation is very easy. I would say that the 8 GB is overpriced (better off getting the regular iPod if you need more storage)

5 Star Review 2nd Generation Apple iPod Nano The one to get !!!

Strengths:

It has a long battery life, 24 hours of constant music, over a week of periodic listening. Not to mention extras, alarm clock, calender and stop watch.

Weaknesses:

It could have came with a carrying case.

Posted Dec 19, 2006 - This is the best MP3 player I've seen, it's very user friendly, I just love it. I am gonna get my son one, he won't leave mine alone he works it very well and hes 7. It works with all of the audio files I have and it was easy to get started. Charges easily from my computer with the supplied USB cable. I am truly impressed.

5 Star Review My First ipod

Strengths:

Easy to maneuver and very sleek.

Weaknesses:

Took a little bit of time to figure out how to eject it from my computer. Doesn't come with a full manual.

Posted Oct 2, 2006 - I just bought this iPod a few days ago. It is so light and sleek. I love how small it is. Easy to wear on my pants pocket. The iTunes was easy to download onto my computer. I've been putting cd's on it and iTunes makes it sooooo simple. If you can afford it you should get one with more memory. I love my new iPod.

5 Star Review The new iPod Nano is outstanding!

Strengths:

Small size, user friendly, clear display, nice design

Weaknesses:

Expensive, ear phones lack bass and durability

Posted Jan 28, 2007 - The new Apple iPod Nano is outstanding. It is a major upgrade over the iPod mini and the 1st generation Nano. The size is about the same as the nano, but Apple has incorporated the metal and colored finish of the older iPod mini. The LCD screen clearly displays the menu and the click wheel is easy to control and navigate. I've notice some issues with syncing this iPod with the newest iTunes version, but that may be an issue with the iTunes software and not the Nano. Also, I purchased the 2GB because it was $50 cheaper than the 4GB version, but now that I'm using it, I wish I had spent the extra $50 to get the bigger hard drive. Regardless, this is a very nice MP3 player that is stylish and works very well.

3 Star Review iPod 2gb Nano

Strengths:

Small, lightweight

Weaknesses:

Accessories are way too expensive, no manual, for $150 it should come with a carrying case. Software must be downloaded.

Posted Oct 30, 2006 - Works fine, took almost a day to figure it out, it's my first one. I bought this to use while cycling. The earbuds that came with it are fine for around the house, but not for exercise, I kept getting annoying wind noise at speeds over 15. My biggest complaint is this, by the time I bought the accessories I needed to use this while cycling and while in my car, I was in to this for over $300. Now that I know how to use it, and already forked out the dough for the accessories, I'd probabley buy another one. But I wish I had done more research to begin with.

5 Star Review iPod nano 2nd Generation 2GB MP3 Player

Strengths:

stylish, compact, light, battery last longer than 1st generation

Weaknesses:

no radio capability, no motion pictures

Posted Nov 20, 2006 - It is a stylish MP3 player from Apple. It is one of hot items in this holiday season. I am fortunate to get a good deal from PC Connection store, which I searched it through pricegrabber.com . After $20 rebate, it costs me $129 even eBay can't beat this price. It is stylish, light, compact, last longing in battery, and much more. Quality of music is super. It is a must have gadget if you like listening music while jogging or walking. I highly recommend it!

5 Star Review THIS IPOD ROCKS!!!

Strengths:

sleek,stylish,very light,very convenient

Weaknesses:

doesn't come with a charger,

Posted Dec 22, 2006 - I absolutely love my new iPod!It only took me about half an hour to figure out how to work the controls and stuff. It's very convenient considering that your practically holding like 20 CD's in the palm of your hand! I definitely recommend this item. It rocks!

2 Star Review Generic - 3rd Party iPod nano 2nd Generation 2GB MP3 Player - Silver (Internal Flash Drive, 24 Hours)

Strengths:

Low price, decent sound quality

Weaknesses:

Navagation is weak at best, tuner functions, voice recorder

Posted Sep 7, 2007 - This unit offers an FM receiver and voice recorder which might as well have been deleted, may of the navigation capabilities are the worst ever experienced. If I had purchased this item thinking of it as a step down from the original nano then I would be extremely upset and disappointed all I can honestly say about this is "It's Junk"

5 Star Review Better than the 1st generation nano...

Strengths:

Compact size, brighter screen, longer battery life, more comfortable ear buds, attractive aluminum case.

Weaknesses:

Only USB charging, expensive accessories, if it is like the 1st gen nanos - no love of water!

Posted Dec 30, 2006 - I purchased this 2nd gen nano as a replacement for my son since his first gen nano drowned! A simple accident with a water bottle spilling on it rendered it useless. Even after drying it out for a few days the nano was dead. My son noticed the brighter screen and he said the ear buds were more comfortable to use. The brushed aluminum case is attractive and has a quality feel to it. My son says the battery lasts longer too but it still can only be charged when connected to a USB port. Accessories are on the expensive side but many items can be purchased on eBay. I purchased a 12v car charger and a household charger along with a few protective silicone skins on eBay. My son is very pleased with his new nano.

5 Star Review iPod Nano 2GB Silver

Strengths:

It's an iPod. Great product for years.

Weaknesses:

Not many.

Posted Dec 21, 2006 - iPods are still the best MP3 players out there and this one is no exception. Although I think you'd be better off going with a regular iPod or an iPod shuffle since the reduction in size from the regular one to the mini is not as dramatic. Great product overall though.

Strengths:

Too many to list

Weaknesses:

Posted Jan 15, 2007 - Great MP3 player. Organization of playlists/songs in genius, and the method of navigation is great. Sound is awesome. Battery life is incredible. Outer case is scratch resistance, unlike earlier ipods. Highly recommended
