Strengths:1) Small
2) Easy-to-Use
3) 4G memory, in a very portable deisgn
4) The playlists are easy to make on the road, and can assemble in iTunes also
5) The extra price doesn't matter becaue of its quality
Weaknesses:1) I'm afraid its going to break, but the thought is totally misfounded. The only way it would, would be if I were to try, or to be wicked careless. (i.e. throwing around, leaving on the floor , etc.)
Posted Dec 28, 2006 - 1) Small and Portable, the name really is appropriate! It is sooooo small, I can put it literally anywhere, I have carried mine EVERYWHERE for the past 3 days with the exception of the shower and bed.
2) Very high quality, there is almost nothing that I want to do on it that I can't! It has a calendar with alarms for reminding, holds photos, has sections for notes, can play games (which by the way are rather fun! :) I spent several hours after I got it doing so), gives excellent sound quality (even on the earbuds that come with it)
3) People say it scratches easily, but in reality it is very resistant to it! the idea comes more from the 1st generation which was very scratchable... Again, you would have to be careless or without common sense to scratch/damage it. I haven't had a case on it, and I've had it in my pocket for my jeans for 10-15 hours and it is still spotless, its also been in my car in 20-32 degree weather and it still sounds perfect.
4) I definitely reccomend it to ANYONE shopping for an mp3 player! Yes, it does cost 75$ more than the Sony Sansa, but from what I've heard its a much lower quality, their "click wheel" apparently is cheesy, its twice the thickness and weight, and I can't imagine it being any more user-friendly. There is really only one things to improve on it, supporting video, but then you have the 30G iPod video, for only $50 more. Apple has done an unbeatable job with their mp3 players.
