After years of saying I would never purchase an Apple I finally broke down and purchased one. I have to say I am impressed. I wanted an easy to use player that would hold my entire collection of 100 CD's or so, in a compact format and this was it. I was amazed at how easy it was to load my CD's and the cover art which you can scroll through this is a nice feature that I use often. The screen is amazingly bright and crisp very easy on the eyes, and the size is perfect. Overall I think this is well worth the investment.

TopStrengths: Great screen, amazing movie playback, compatibility with calendar software (both Outlook and iCal), easy to use, flash memory, great games, coverflow, battery life, "cool" factor
Weakness: Sound quality is only OK; a few software bugs (I had to reset the ipod immediate after getting it to get Recently Played playlist to work); EQ is not very effective
There's no denying that the Nano is cool. Holding it in your hands makes you feel good. The size is incredibly small. Also, the screen is amazing--an absolute pleasure to watch videos on (I use it to watch news video podcasts, which looks better on the Nano than it does on TV). Don't listen to the haters who say the screen is too small. It has the same resolution as the new zunes. Though it's only $50 less than the Classic, it uses Flash memory, which makes it usable for running and on airplanes (harddrives fail at high altitudes). I have a Macbook, so I can sync notes and calendar events on the nano. The sound quality is only so-so (I had a 1st gen shuffle, the best ipod ever made sound-wise, and the bass on the nano pales considerably, and the EQ isn't that great), but it works for me. The games look really good on the screen (but I wouldn't bother with getting more than what the player came with). I had some trouble getting the smart playlists to work (I had to manually sync, and then revert to auto-sync) . Also, cover flow works well only when most of the songs actually have a cover (I spent a long time to get them on my songs). Battery life is on par with the best video players.
Also: I bought this from NewEgg; it came with a free wall charger and no taxes, so it was like spending $170 on the nano itself--a pretty good deal.
Final Verdict: If you need a flash player that plays video, this is what you should get (especially if you're a Mac user). If you're not in hurry to get a player or don't plan to use the video function, get a zen (or wait next year when capacity doubles yet again!)

Weakness: Accessories can be pricey. Apple locked out video-out feature unless you buy their $50 video cable.
The new ipod Nano 8gb is very sexy. It took Apple 3 generations to finally arrive at the new nano and it plays video files now. For $199, you get 8gb of a flash memory player that interfaces with Itunes. The 2" color screen is rich in color and fast. New is the CoverFlow where you can browse your library by the album covers. Split-screen gui is also new. Apple got this one right!

I had held off on the iPod craze since listening to music through headphones was never my sort of thing plus I knew they always improved them and I never felt like I wanted to be stuck with an soon-to-be obsolete gadget. But this last Christmas my daughter (age 11) wanted an iPod and the new models came out just in time for me to get one for her. It turns out to be one of the best purchases in terms of value I have ever made for one of my kids despite the $200 price tag. We've bought plenty of cheaper toys they got tired of quickly but my daughter has been using this every day since Christmas (going on 8 months now). I loaded it up with pictures, videos of her dance performances, movies, and tons of music. Though the screen is small (though a huge improvement over the previous Nano) it is bright and crisp. She mostly just uses it for music though - she'll listen to it while swinging in the yard. It has also come in handy on car trips where her younger brothers watch videos on it. I've heard of reliability problems with iPods in the past but I suspect this was mostly hard drive related. This iPod has 8 GB of flash memory so there are no moving parts which makes it much more durable. This also means it lasts quite a while on a single charge. We bought a hard plastic shell for it and it has survived many drops. All-in-all this is an excellent device that is well worth the price.

Weakness: 8GB is a bit small, 16GB or above will be ideal.
This is my replacement for Classic 60GB and i'm happy that i make the switch. i especially enjoy the compact design that is really convenient for carrying this around in my pocket. The pre-installed games are also great to kill time when I'm waiting for something or someone else. The only drawback is the small storage footprint. 8GB is really a bit small. I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a 16GB or more. Overall a great product.

Apple finally right in this third generation nano. The resolution for playing videos is excellent. The split screen menu system is a great improvement over the second generation Nano. I love the green color. The nano feels great when you pick it up and is an excellent backup for watching videos since I also have an iPhone. This way I don't drain the battery on the iPhone and am still able to watch videos due to the Nano's excellent battery life. I highly recommend this product!

TopStrengths: The new ipod nano has a bright display and is good because it plays video unlike the old ipod nano which is a piece of junk. and the green color on this ipod is a bright color.
Weakness: Downloading music off of itunes is very easy, but it took me 2 weeks to find out how to sync two ipods from one computer. My only reservation Apple is still the most expensive
bBefore i had this ipod i had the first ipod at first it was a great ipod, but then i got this one and this one was much better. So far everything works well and I am very pleased!!!

I truly love this mp3 player-I can watch videos AND listen to songs whenever I want to now. The size is enough to have a good number of both audio and video files. Just a small warning: The product freezes a lot more often than my old 2nd generation Nano. I often have to wait a couple hours to reset it, as well. I'm not sure what causes this. In addition, as I add more songs, certain cover art stops being displayed on the menu (the pretty, background effect, I mean). It's not exactly important, but I figured I'd mention it all the same.
Still, great mp3 player. It's very small and portable, and has many more capabilities than the previous generation!

Weakness: Itunes software is a little confusing for a rookie. Once it is learned it is not too bad. Price is expensive.
Ipods are very popular because they are an excellent product. They are able to hold a tremendous amount of music and videos. The Ipod Nano is good for the fitness center because your entire music collection is available while you work out. I have never owned an MP3 player in the past, but I am very excited about my new Ipod Nano 8GB player.

Ipod Nano 8Gb Greem
Strengths: User Interface and ergonomics are awesome
Weakness: no FM radio
New Nano is very cute, I like it better than previous generation, although some people like thinner models better. But this one has video. 2" screen with 320x240 resolution. Still pricey comparing with other manufacturerers Gb per dollar ratio. No option to convert higher encoded songs to 128AAC format as in Shuffle. I ditched earbud headphones, though, for something else
