Posted Dec 8, 2004 - Small, light, and compact. I like it that it comes with a clear plastic cover to protect it. Very easy to use, just plug in the USB cable and drag n drop all your mp3s to the drive, you are all set to go. Pretty basic functions but enough for a simple mp3 player. Headphones are alright but you could get better sound with more capable ones like Sony. Pretty cool function with rotating the menu to accomodate both lefty and righty people. Storage size is good enough for me, I can store like 90 mp3s with an average size of about 5.5MB each. You can also create folders to file your mp3s neatly. Sound quality is quite good, I have no problem with it. FM tuner is pretty clear as well, and it can automatically preset 20 strongest stations for you. Or you could preset your fav stations to those 20 memory locations. I haven't try out the voice recorder yet, but I didn't buy it for that function, so it's not so important to me. I just own it for one day, but so far so good. Might come back to review it if I find anything wrong...

Posted Dec 26, 2004 - I got this for a Christmas gift (early) and have really enjoyed it. The large capacity and small size are impressive, and even though this is my first MP3 player, I really like the controls and the built-in FM tuner. Batter life seems to go relatively quickly, but this is based on the included battery which may not be of the best quality. At any rate, highly recommended.

Posted Mar 25, 2005 - I've had my Sandisk for a little over a month and I could not be more pleased with it. I fully admit to being a technophobe, and I find the Sandisk very easy to load music on to, and easy to use. I am a runner, and I love the armband that comes with the SanDisk. It's so lightweight I barely know it's there. I have no problem with using the USB cable to download music - as the cables are universal, I keep one on my home computer and one on my work computer - so I don't need to carry the cable around with me as some folks have complained about. This device runs for hours on one tiny AAA battery, and I always keep extras in my running bag. I have not had any trouble opening the battery compartment (some reviews say this is difficult, but if you apply a little downward pressure when sliding, it's easy.) I love my SanDisk and highly recommend it to others.

Posted Jan 3, 2005 - With 512MB of memory, it holds all the songs I can possibly hear in a day, and then some. This unit is comfortable and easy to insert with downloads. A single AAA battery has lasted over 15 hours of play. The earphones have good sonic quality and are lightweight. I have purchjased snadisk products before and can attest to their product's dependability. Now I am thinking perhaps I should have purchased the 1 GB version!

Sandisk mp3 player

Posted Oct 15, 2005 - I bought the player to listen to audio books, which is a problem. This player does not play the files in alphanumeric order; it perversely scrambles them in some unknown way. I guess this is ok for music, but not good for words. But there is a somewhat easy way around it. You need to rename the files in order by padding them with 001..., 002... etc. Use the free "Renamer" to rename masses of files: www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~d...

This is my first mp3 player, so I really don't know how it compares, but the sound quality is really great to me, I don't even think about replacing the earbud came with it. It's easy to use. The quick start kit get everything going in just minutes. Uploading or downloading songs is just clicks away. FM radio is actually quite good inside and out. An AM radio would be nice to have, but I can live with that. It is mainly for listening to music anyway. I tried to record one of my college lectures today. It's not too bad either. I did sit in the second row though. I think it should be ok if I sit even farther. It's built well to me. I hope it will last long. We'll see. The earbuds feel a bit hard in my ears, especially the right one. Hopefully I'll get used to it better soon. Overall, for this price, you can't go wrong with it! Highly recommanded!

Posted Dec 20, 2004 - This is my first MP3 player and it is more than what I expected... It is very small in size. MP3 transfer is much easier than I had imagine. Also, the battery life is what's good about it.. It seem to never run out..

Posted Dec 20, 2004 - Very nice mp3 player. Sound quality is not as good as the Creative Muvo series, but can't beat it for the price. FM radio receiver is strong compared to cheaper players. This player cannot be used as a flash drive for moving files, it needs an USB cable to connect it to a pc/laptop. Although this player is not as small as some other players in the market, there are tradeoffs, the screen of this player is definitely better than those smaller players as it is bigger.

I think this is the best MP3 player on the market ...

Posted Feb 4, 2005 - I think this is the best MP3 player on the market for the money you pay, found it through Pricegrabber for $90.76 with free shipping. Well rounded features, good sound quality even with the ear buds from the box. Great for running--the arm band it comes with is nothing fancy, but does the job well. The player profile is fairly low, so no problems with jostling while jogging. I'm not a sprinter (more of a distance runner), but I had no problems with the ear buds falling out while running. For the price I would recommend this flash player over anything else currently on the market.

Posted Jun 29, 2005 - I've had my Sandisk for about 6 months now and have had no problems, you can spend more money for an MP3 player but in my opinion you can't get a better player, I paid $89 dollars for mine and it holds approx 200 songs. One minor complaint with the Sandisk is that first 1/2 second or so of songs are cut off...kinda strange but something I can live with. As per my comments on "Weaknesses"..Invest in some hi-quality Re:Expensive earbuds...& watch this player wake up.

Posted Feb 4, 2005 - It's a good buy in this price range, and the price is still dropping ... Perfect for whatever (gym, train, jogging, ...) If somehow the cable is not required for transferring music, then it would be fanastic, as I don't care about recording from radio as much.

Posted Jan 4, 2005 - I've owned and/or used 3 other mp3 players (creative zen jukebox, ipod mini, and creative muvo), and this sound is easily comparable. For WindowsXP you can just plug it in and it's recognized as an external drive (no software necessary). I love how you can just pop in another AAA battery when you run out and keep going (and it's battery life is very good so far). Also, did I mention it has voice recording and an FM tuner?

I would highly recommand anyone who is in market to purchase mp3 player for school kids. Three months ago, I have purchased SANDISK memory card for my digital camera and works excellent. Sandisk makes great products.
