FM Tuner, Voice Recorder - Black - MPN: SDMX11R1024KA70
Strengths: small size, internal rechargable battery, easy to use, has already survived several drops of 2 ft.
Weakness: Manual is awfully brief and only tells you everything you could easily figure out on your own. Recharging takes several hours and can only be done with USB port on an active computer
Excellent product. Slick package, excellent sound, small size, easy to use, and comparatively inexpensive. Recharging takes some time and can only be done using a USB port from a computer that is "on". Of course you could spring for the optional in-the-wall charger for an extra $10.

TopStrengths: Complete package of Mp3 player, radio, FM recording, voice recording in a match-box sized unit. The built-in clip is a great feature. Good battery life for its size.
Weakness: NO microSD slot.
The sansa clip beats the ipod shuffle by a million miles while at a lower price.
This small unit offers great sound (considering its size) and is complete with radio and recording functions. I have tried the voice recording functions, while it is not top-of-the-line, it is more than adequate for everyday use in recording lectures, etc. I used the clip to clip it to my binder and I never forgot to bring a recorder to class. The battery is great for its size. The screen and scroll wheel backlight is very bright.
My only complaint is that it lacks a microSD slot, but it's so small you can't really fault Sandisk for not putting in one.
All in all, great product at a low price.

TopStrengths: Very well constructed, very small and intuitive interface. Battery life is great and much cooler than my brother's shuffle! (He is jealous and mad that he didn't shop around)
Weakness: None
For a very affordable price you get a great mp3 player that sounds great and is extremely portable! Its easy to drag and drop music files onto it, without figuring out iTunes, etc....

TopStrengths: Tiny size, battery life, screen, no software, excellent price
Weakness: Earphones, fm radio
Let me first start by saying I have owned a number of mp3 players. The Sansa Clip ranks with the best of them. The Sansa Clip is what I would consider the Ipod Shuffle killer. I was debating of getting an Ipod Shuffle or Sansa Clip and chose the Sansa Clip because it just had more to offer. The Sansa Clip has a four line screen that is bright enough to see in daylight. I listen to music by albums and I didn't want the shuffle to dictate how I listen to music. Although you can't really tell from the pictures, this mp3 player is really tiny. It is almost the same size of the shuffle.
The battery life is great for being such a small player. It has 15 hours of battery life. Much better than the Ipod Shuffle. The Sansa Clip does not require any software, all you have to do is drag and drop music into the player making it super easy to use. It organizes your mp3's based on ide tags.
It sounds great. I have a collection of audiophile earphones from Shure and Etymotic and it sounds great. There is no annoying hiss that I hear with so many other mp3 players I have owned. Volume is loud and clear. Best of all the Sansa Clip 1GB is only $40, compare that to the $80 for the Ipod Shuffle.
There are also additional features such as fm radio, voice recorder, and can play audiobooks. I found the fm radio to be a bit weak. This is an excellent mp3 to workout with since it has a clip that is included, unlike the creative stone which requires you to buy that separately. I highly recommend this mp3 player to everyone I know. Great of features, cool tiny size, and wonderful price points at $40 for 1GB and $60 for 2GB.

TopStrengths: Attractive.
Weakness: Poor Quality.
I ordered this for my son on November 4, 2007 (received a week later). It lasted about three weeks, then the screen abruptly went out. NO damage, NO misuse/mishandling. Contacted SanDisk's "technical support" [sic] on 12/8, was told to email them a copy of my authorized retailer’s receipt, and then they'd be happy to send out a replacement without me having to return the defective. On 12/11, the "support" staff wrote me via their website-based "support message" system asking me to verify what packaging it originally came in, implying it was a refurb or gray-market product (despite the AUTHENTIC authorized retailer’s receipt already provided). I explained I ordered it from a SanDisk authorized retailer, not a third-party seller, it came in genuine retail packaging, and was NOT gray market. On 12/19, I was informed via the above-mentioned message system my trouble ticket was closed and a new RMA ticket was opened. I was also asked for the Serial Number of the product, and my phone number (both provided on 12/8, in order to even open the trouble ticket). I called in again to ask why they couldn't get the facts straight, was told that the first staff on 12/8 was wrong about me not having to return the defective, and was promptly provided the RMA and UPS label email, after the staff I spoke with saw I was right (required info already on file). On 12/26, SanDisk received my returned product. On 1/2, I inquired about replacement shipping status. I was told via the message system that it would be "5-7 days" (quote unquote) for the replacement to ship from date of receipt (12/26). Today, 1/8, I called in to find out about shipment status, and was told that it would be "7-10 days" instead, despite the message from her colleague. My kid bought this with his own hard-earned money (I simply ordered it for him), and is now out the product for nearly a month. I broke down out of sympathy for him, and bought him a Sony Walkman mp3 player at a local store to replace the Sansa Clip (at twice the price). I also called SanDisk HQ to ask about help in getting the replacement shipped ASAP. No response from SanDisk HQ in Milpitas, CA, yet. DO NOT BUY THIS product or any SanDisk products until they improve both their quality control AND their "customer service/technical support" practices. I’ve been a SanDisk “fan” of many years, but that era is over.

Toplooks like you should have bought it from a physical retailer...Wal-Mart replaced mine after I smashed it.

TopStrengths: Do not have to load iTunes, or other malware to get it immediately up and running with your favorite tunes!
Weakness: I wish there was some way to protect it in my active world between the gym, traveling, everyday use. I already have a scratch on the face plate and a crack is starting...
I have shared this product and its GREATNESS with everyone I know. I will continue to use this product line and have been EXTREMELY SATISFIED with it. I think it is WAY BETTER than iPod or comparable devices in its ease of use, drag and drop, sound quality, functions & features. I highly recommend it...

TopStrengths: FM Reception w/ Plenty of programmable stations. Ease of menus. Light-weight and small size. Value. LCD Screen. Multilanguage
Weakness: Short USB link-cable
The Sansa Clip is a great value for the functionality it has in an MP3 player. I currently take the train to/from work and I transfer to an underground subway. The ease from switching from FM Radio and my MP3 is so seamless the music/radio never stop. This MP3 player is customizable in many ways from the display (blacklight/brightness) functions to the FM receiver (Japan, USA, and World). The volume level coming from this small device is impressive. With a click of the middle button you can advance the your next preset station...so you never have to listen to a commercial.

TopStrengths: size, looks, ease of use
Weakness: nothing major
Although the clip is entirely made of plastic and feels a little like a toy the buttons are responsive. Screen is a two colour with easily read fonts. Comes with a removable plastic clip, headphones and short usb connection to transfer music and charge the battery. Music transfer is easy with drag and drop. Unlike the shuffle, it comes with fm radio and allows you to record in wav format. I like it and have bought it as gifts for family members.

TopStrengths: half the price of ipod (nothing against ipod), functional unit
Weakness: no replaceable battery...becomes a throwaway at some point unless sandisk comes up with a replaceable battery
small 1 gig player that comes with removeable clip (like a butterfly clip). It is not expandable as to memory and its battery cannot be replaced. Construction is a little on cheap/plastic side but the unit packs a punch. Has built in fm and recorder. Software is fine and display is bright and easily legible expect in certain sunny conditions. Easily navigable with software and intuitive. Looks good as well. Charges by included usb cable. Expect to pay around $25-35 and there is a 2 gig unit for not much more on sale. Recommended as a basic small unit at the right price.

THE GOOD: The SanDisk Sansa Clip offers impressive sound quality; an ultracompact, gym-friendly design with a removable belt clip; and useful features such as an FM radio and Rhapsody DNA integration. The player also includes support for a wide variety of audio file types, including OGG and FLAC. All of this comes at an incredible value, since the player is very inexpensive and easy to use. THE...

The Sansa Clip is a bare bones audio player by SanDisk that continues the memory makers tradition for releasing media players that compete in features and quality, but at a lower cost. This approach has made SanDisk the number two company, after Apple, in the media player industry. True to its namesake, the Sansa Clip comes with an integrated clip for attaching the player to your clothes. The...

Reset the FIRMWARE fixes many problems. The BEST MP3...
Strengths: The best small MP3 player I have ever owned. Washed it in the washing machine and still works 2 years later. If this is not a strength then I don't know what is. They constantly upgrade the firmware.
Weakness: I bought Sony headphones that wrap around the ear for running.
I had a problem with it and it froze and I had some other file structure problems. But I went to their forum and learned of a way to reset the firmware, so after resting and upgrading firmware it is good as new. This little baby also took a dunk in the washing machine, including the spin cycle. I just let it air dry for a couple of days (It is dry in New Mexico) and bam worked good as new. I was so impressed with this little bad boy that I bought several more :)
