A true portable entertainment center
7 inch wide screen great for converted dvd's, Long battery life for mp3, Decent life for video(a little over 4 hours). Can connect to a digital camera to tranfer pics.
The games on it are terrible. It could have had some PDA functionality or at least wifi capability. Large for PVP/DVR. Would have liked a larger line of accessories.
Posted Apr 24, 2006 - I owned the original av320 and decided to upgrade to this player when i was able to get a great deal on this player. I wouldn't pay $800 for it but if you can find the right deal, this device is well worth the money for someone who travels. Even though at its size someone can argue that a laptop can be carried in its place, I use it to compliment my laptop. Most of my DVD collection has been transfered over to the av700 and the quality is still great although to do this you must use third party software. Despite other peoples ease of use with WMP 10, I for some reason can not transfer video through device sync but its of little importance as I have found other ways using software to make video compatible that works on almost anything I throw at it. All in all this PVP does what it claims and does it well. For those who complain about screen resolution, when you run a dvd on the av700 in the highest quality it can handle and it looks great. Only complaints are that I wish it had some more accessories, a built in Mic like my old av320, and a little better video conversion capabilities. If you cant deal with video conversion don't get this. If you can, than it will live up to your expectations.
