This is an enhanced audio CD which contains regular audio files and multimedia computer files.
The Bee Gees: Maurice Gibb (vocals, guitar, keyboards, programming); Barry Gibb (vocals, guitar); Robin Gibb (vocals).
Additional personnel includes: Alan Kendall, Robbie MacIntosh (guitar); Alfredo Oliva (violin); David Cole (cello); Neil Bonsanti (clarinet); Ken Faulk, Jason Carder (trumpet); Dwayne Dixon, Eric Kerley (French horn); John Knicker, Joe Barati (trombone); Ben Stivers (organ, keyboards, programming); George Perry, Matt Bonelli (bass); Steve Rucker (drums); John Merchant (programming); Peter John Vettese (background vocals).
Producers: Robin, Barry & Maurice Gibb, Peter John Vettese.
Bee Gees: Maurice Gibb, Robin Gibb, Barry Gibb.
After years of high-gloss production, this album represents the Bee Gees' attempt to return to their roots; simple, harmony-based pop tunes recorded in a straightforward manner. Accordingly, many of the songs here are based around Maurice and Barry Gibb's own acoustic guitar strumming, and of course the trio's distinctive vocal blend. Nevertheless, this is hardly lo-fi stuff. Sophisticated keyboard and electric guitar textures and programmed beats are not in short supply; the roots retrenchment is more a mindset than an arrangement tactic.
While most of the tunes here seem to fall into the adult pop mode the group began mining in its post-disco phase, "She Keeps on Coming" is a rockabilly-tinged number that wouldn't have sounded out of place on a Traveling Wilburys album, "Technicolor Dreams" is a quaint, vaudevillian song that harks back to the band's quirky baroque pop days, and "The Extra Mile" recalls the Bee Gees' mid-'70s soul balladry. Stylistically, THIS IS WHERE I CAME IN is more of a look over the shoulder than a giant leap backwards. minimize

Posted Jun 5, 2002 - This is a return to the Classic late 60's early 70's Bee Gees style, and it's like they haven't even beem away from it. "She keeps on coming" is as good as "Bad bad dreams from "To whom it may concern" The title track is as good as anything from the "Bee Gees 1st" album. Overall I give it 10 out of 10. It's amazing that they still have so many great song ideas after all these years, and still sing as well, too.

Posted May 8, 2002 - A really great album. The Bee Gees are back with some really good songs. A return to the late 60's early 70's songs they used to write before the disco years.

Posted Jul 28, 2001 - I think that this album is a magnificent piece of work by the Bee Gees. There is great musical flexibility to be experienced throughout the 14 tracks, with each Gibb brother taking turns on tackling the lead vocals. The tracks which standout most are 'Wedding Day' - a possible future single, 'Embrace' - featuring one of Robin's best ever performances, and 'Technicolour Dreams' which sounds rather like a TV theme tune. Since making their 'comeback' in 1987, the Bee Gees have released 6 studio albums. In my opinion, 'This Is Where I Came In' is the best one of those. Buy it today.

Posted Jun 19, 2001 - Before making such un-educated remarks, listen to the CD. This CD sounds like nothing they have done before, which holds true for all of their albums. They keep re-inventing themselves so as not to sound old and stalem, like so many other older groups. This album mixes rock with classic balladry and great R&B. Another great effort from a great team of songwriters/singers/musicians.

Posted May 25, 2001 - Just another reason why the Bee Gees are still riding high. Two platinum albums in the 90s. Not even to mention 30 years of hits. This album has a lot of great songs, Wedding Day, Sacred Trust and She Keeps on Coming Back For More to name a few. Don't knock it until you try it. I DARE YOU to lister to the whole album

Posted May 25, 2001 - TIWICI is a definitive album that shows the Boy's still have diversity and individuality. Unlike todays fame which has a manufactured almost formulaic quality The Bee Gee's are naturally talented and prolific Brothers who appeal to all ages and sexes all over the world - An unquantifiable achievement. They have had their knockdowns in the past some self inflicted but mostly from 'critics' and 'press' who try to tell us what we should like, they even rise above that. Big Hugs and Thanks to them and their families for marking moments down the years with memorable moving lyrics and experimental emotional sounds.

Posted Apr 26, 2001 - I noticed that people just gave this album 1 star just so it wouldn't be listed as number one. I would bet my house, car, kids, and dog that they haven't even heard this CD. They just voted because it's the Bee Gees and they automatically think, oh it must a disco album. That is so ridiculous! Read the critics reviews and listen to the music and find out why this album is 5 stars.

Posted Apr 26, 2001 - Thoroughly enjoyed this CD. There isn't one dud on the whole album. The variety of style make it so interesting. From the rock sound of "She Keeps On Coming" & "Voice In The Wilderness" to the cool sounds of "Sacred Trust" & "Loose Talk Costs Lives" to Tin Pan Alley in "Technicolor Dreams". There is something for everyone on this album. Good job Bee Gees!!!

Posted Apr 25, 2001 - The Brothers Gibb have returned to their roots and have done it in excellent fashion. They have combined rock, soul and classic balladry into a great collection that highlights their superb natural three part harmonies. Their early rock influences stand out on "She Keeps On Coming", while their R&B influences shine on "Loose Talk Costs Lives" and even incorporate current sounds on "Deja Vu". There is also a great wedding standard called "Wedding Day" which EVERY bride & groom should dance to. The CD closes out with "Voice In The Wilderness" which is a guitar fueled frenzy loaded with energy. A CD definetly worth getting!
