Their online catalog is huge, and it is very well done. Also, the prices are very interesting. The problem is the service. It took almost two weeks for them to tell me that I had to choose a different way of payment, because my credit card wasn't accepted. It wouldn't have been a problem to pay them by other means if they had told me that reasonably soon, not after 10 days. So I ended up cancelling the order, after wasting two weeks. |

We have been a customer of Musician's Friend for 17 years but their continuing poor service. In 1992 we bought a Jackson Dinky XL. The guitar had a crack in the neck and was missing the tremolo bar. In 2006 we bought a Marshal TSL100 head which we had to send in for repair as it was received with a bad pretube that was causing pops. In 2006 we ordered a 896HD scratch n dent product. We never received the product. Working with customer service took over a month for us to get return credit. We had a contract with a customer to do their cd in 192 format and didn't expect MF would take over a month to resolve the issue. We lost this customer due to the delays caused by MF. Next day shipping was late because they failed to take it to UPS as the correct time for the shipping service. When it finally arrived, the item was broke. I had the item returned and had to wait a full 7 BUSINESS days before they began on my replacement order. However, even though I told them what item I wanted about 2 weeks before hand, they informed me they just went out of stock of the replacement item. I now have to wait another week for this replacement item to come in stock. To add insult to injury, they are shipping with UPS ground instead, even though I originally paid for UPS Next day air saver. I asked if they could just upgrade the item to the 30w version instead of the 15w because of all the trouble, I received no reply. Completely and utterly ridiculous. I have never experienced such poor service in my entire life. I will never shop with them again, and I urge all who read this to never do so as well. |

Very happy with the web site and customer service. I had some problems with just 1 order getting all my boxes shipped and had to place several calls to very VERY nice and helpful customer service who were creative and figured out how to solve the problem and get my stuff shipped. When something was on back order they worked to find me something I ultimately liked better. It can take a couple of days from the time an order is placed until a ship notification is posted and the stuff is out the door. They have some awesome unpublished specials and I got an unbelievable discount on some additional stuff I needed. I am very happy about the prices and service. I just wish they would get their shipping and order fulfillment working as good as their customer service. I will take the good prices and service and live with a couple of days delay in shipping. If they get the fulfillment working better then they get 5 stars. Bottom line: this is now my go-to Internet music store. |

The customer service was horrible. They were also out of stock on the first items we ordered (although that wasn't indicated until AFTER we ordered by email). The products that we ordered on December 4th DID NOT ARRIVE BY CHRISTMAS AS PROMISED! I will NEVER use or recommend you use this outfit!!!!!!!!!!!! |

MusiciansFriend sucks! , I ordered 2 ART tps2 from them and they only shipped 1. When i contacted them, they said the that the weight of the package means they shipped both items !, they said it will take a few weeks to resolve the matter, a few weeks !, I bought these in a hurry so I would have them for a project that I'm working on , now I have to wait a few weeks. No friend to this musician.Thanks alot guys. |

I've made 7 purchases through the internet with MF over the last 2 years. I have had mostly good experiences with a few not so good and one really "tick me off" event. I ordered and received a Les Paul Studio guitar and got a great price on it....however it was delayed in shipping about 4 weeks due to back order issues. I ordered a Gibson J-180 and they accepted the order, posted an email to me telling me it was on it's way and then told me nothing. After a week or so I noticed that the purchase price had been refunded to my credit card, but still no word from MF. Finally, after a couple weeks had passed they sent another email informing me that the guitar I bought was sold out....did not make me happy at all. I suspect that someone in the warehouse looked at the order and said "Wow! what a great deal...I think I want that guitar". Orders seldom come all at once but on the plus side they have just about everythoing you want and a great email newsletter. |

I placed my order for my amp, strings, and a music stand, which were all in stock at the time. It was well over a week later, after I called to find out where my order was, that I was told that the amp was back-ordered and that they didn't know when they would have more in. I spoke with a supervisor, who graciously upgraded me to an amp that was $10 more but didn't charge me, and he also offered to send it overnight. My order, over 2 weeks now, has finally shipped, but by ground service. It would have been nice to have had someone contact me to let me know about the problems rather than me having to check up on them, but I feel deceived and lied to about my order from the very beginning. Their people told me what I wanted to hear so that I wouldn't cancel the order, but everything I was told would happen certainly didn't happen. I didn't ask for upgraded shipping, but it was offered to me. I would not buy from them again and I would never recommend that a friend purchase from them. |

Musicians Friend used to have pretty good shipping but anymore I only use them when they have an offer I can't pass up. The basically play some kind of trick where they say your item has shipped but UPS doesn't actually show it shipped for a day or 2 later. To put it to you this way, I also ordered an in stock product from their competetor about an hour earlier. Shipped via fed ex will be here tomarrow. Musiscians friend seems to be going slowly down the crapper. |

I ordered a gift for my son for his birthday at musiciansfriend.com. I really needed overnight shipping to have his gift in time for his birthday. While I was checking out I noticed that musiciansfriend.com has an online chat facility. I used this service to ask if I placed my order right then, would I get it tomorrow (a Friday). The agent that responded said "yes". 30 mins. after I placed my order, I called the customer service center. After checking with several departments she indicated that it would go out in the evening shipment. When I checked my email the next morning I had an email that said that the item was shipped not in the evening shipment on Thur., but the morning shipment on Friday, so there is no way I will get the order as they promised. I spent over $500 and paid $38 for next day delivery so that my son would have his gift at his party on Sunday. By shipping the item ups, I will now be getting the item on Monday instead of Friday. I was completely mislead. |

Drums I ordered (shipping wight of 171 lbs) arrived damaged. The drum equipment was just haphazardly thrown into a box and taped up. I'm amazed any of the drum shells arrived intact they way they were packed. All drums and hardware were thrown into one box, and then that box was jammed inside another box, into which it didn't fit. One side of the outer box was completely split down the side because it was too small and all they did was tape it up. For my return I get to lug 171lbs of loose drum equipment to a UPS store and have them pack it so I can send it back, as their packing didn't survive the trip to me. Even though only 2 pieces were damaged, I have to send everything back. I won't be getting an exchange, and with the poor customer service I received, I will not be doing business with them again. |

They ripped me off $50! I returned an item the day after I got it, well within the 45 day return time. The idiot at MF on the phone had me send it back as damaged, so, I got charged $50. They refused to refund my $50 even after explaining twice on the phone to other MF idiots how the first idiot told me to send it back as damaged. Boycott these jerks, or else you will be ripped off! |
