Anonymous - (April 30, 2008) I've just installed it, and it is performing its intended task just fine (hooking my laptop to an acoustic analysis device). I'm glad I thought of checking their website. This would have been on its way back tomorrow if I hadn't. These instructions were complete, including explaining how to check in Device Manager to make sure the ports are working properly. It's really hard to find RS-232 gear these days. I'm glad this works; I can now connect my Audio Toolbox to my laptop using TerraLink software and save as many readings as my hard drive will hold. That being said, I'm just amazed that an ISO 9001-2000 certified company apparently can't get the right instructions in their products.

mrmarkks - (August 29, 2005) drivers were easy to install, the connections are protected, the little activity lights work, we use a lan at work and I use dial up at home this product is just what I need and the price is right.

appoos99 - (August 04, 2004) I had very bad experience with this product and returned it. After installation ,windows complined about not having driver , so I reinstalled it again. After installing it multiple times I could boot windows 2000 with out much issues. I had to upgrade my BIOS too.I use a dell 2650 laptop and never had any issues. After rebooting I tried to connect my DVD writer, windows just hung, so I removed card and rebooted the machine, then I connected the DVD writer to the regular USB1.0 it worked. So again I put the startech card and rebooted and tried connecting usb device, it hung. I really DO NOT recomend this product..

traintrek61 - (02/13/2005) I bought the Belkin adapter over any other brand mainly because the name is synonymous with quality. The fact that the price was right and we received it within 4 days through regular mail! It was user friendly and easy to install. I was able to use it within minutes! Would definitely reccommend it to a friend!

zshen - (01/29/2005) I've almost had it for two years. I've never had any problems with it. The setup is very easy. The manual is well written. However, I'm not using it any more since I use wireless PC card now. But I would recommend it to my friends who still need a wired PC card for their network.
