CMOS - Wireless Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi - MPN: WVC54GCA
Strengths: Mobile video using a cell phone via RTSP Wireless, streams audio with IE browser Snapshot mode so you can fetch just a single JPG for use on a web page, etc. Includes 1 free year of TZO.COM DDNS
Weakness: Motion detection can trigger with light, clouds, wind, but if you have it indoors and no natural lighting "tricks" hit the camera, it will work perfectly.
This camera is great for watching over your home or business from anywhere. You can use a browser (IE or Firefox) and for those of you with mobile devices and certain cell phones, you can use RTSP to connect and watch mobile video with these cameras.
Each camera comes with a free year of the TZO.COM DDNS service, so you can reach your camera by using a domain name, even if your IP changes (dynamic IP) you can still connect using this domain name from TZO.
It also has motion detection, snapshot mode, and can email or FTP with motion. Overall, its a cool camera and I'd give it a 9 out of 10, and for the price I bought 4 of them and can watch over my home when Im away using my cell phone or laptop.

TopStrengths: Nice picture, good sound
Weakness: Range is really weak. The software is annoying
I bought the wireless internet camera to be able to watch my kids downstairs from my PC while I was working in my home office. It works for that purpose pretty well, however, its somewhat tough to get it installed and working. Also, sometimes when I reboot, the software can't recognize the camera, so I have to add it manually. For the price I paid though, overall I'm pretty happy, just a warning that the set up process isn't real simple.

TopStrengths: Decent quality, fairly easy setup, wireless connectivity.
Weakness: Sound either really bad or doesn't work at all.
The video quality of this camera is quite decent in daylight. It has a few video formats so there are several ways to watch the video. It even has a static snapshot URL that I was able to hack together to embed the image in my own private website.
The viewer software for Windows is decent and has an option of monitoring up to 9 cameras. This is actually making me consider getting more of these to keep an eye on other areas of the house.
I don't need sound so I never bothered to figure it out, but it seemed that the mic was either really quiet or didn't work at all.

TopWeakness: Hard to configure
Am using version 2.07 of the firmware and motion detection simply does not work. It refuses to send an email when there is motion in frame. This is one of the main reasons I bought it for. Also, you must use Linksys software to view the streaming video. It would be much nicer if it streamed MPEG.

TopStrengths: good size, easy to adjust
Weakness: Hard to setup
HARD TO SET UP. called tech support and of course got another person in another country. I tried helping and i got no where. I was then told to call the company that makes my router.......I can not believe that I am the only one that has a problem with this. This camera is no where near an easy 1-2-3 setup...... I still can't get it to work..... the Instructions are some of the wouse that I have ever seen....

TopStrengths: Local network cam
Weakness: Internet camera? My a*s!
Good for local network access only. Does not send email. Does not do motion detection. Cannot be configured. This and other Linksys products are products from Hell!
Do not buy Linksys products. I bought also Linksys router and I trashed it. I bought Linksys Wifi card and it needs software configuration. Hard to configure all of them. the router was router from hell. Needed configuration by special software only and got out of confi. any time it pleased. Wireless rouer my a*s. I had so many disconnection, Dial up was better than that. i went back to plain onld wired ethernet.
Rattish products! Beware!

TopThis is a very good Linksys brand wireless-G Internet Video Camera that can be used as a security camera without the mess of wires. With wireless routers prevalent, this is the way to go for cameras. The camera can be setup for viewing from any internet-enabled computer. Its a little expensive but worth the money for someone who needs it.

Takes time to set up but works well
Strengths: Excellent distant access and motion detection emails are great.
Weakness: Hard to set up - took awhile
I had a Linksys wireless router so thought this would be a snap to setup. Wrong. First, after four hours with tech support we figured out that the camera had an intermittent power supply. Took it back and exchanged for a new camera. Still had problems setting up but not as bad because I'd done so much with the first one. Took about 40 minutes with their tech support and then it worked like a hot damn. In order to see your place remotely, you need to open a port in your router. Had no problem setting it up to send emails.
I would recommend this camera to others, but if you're not a ten on the techie scale, be prepared to spend time on the phone with them.
