Microsoft OneNote 2003 - Licence

Strengths: Good way to organize notes

Weakness: Could be more customizable

Has some cool features like video recordings. Allows easy retrieval of notes by searching for key words. Does not run well with Office XP but fits right in to the Office 2003 Suite.

A good companion for note-taker

Strengths: easy to use, full function

Weakness: expensive

As a college student, note-taking is very important. MS Onenote lifts the stress of inclass notetaking. It is incorporated to MS Office after installation and stays in the task bar, which is very easy for instant access. You can freely roam. You can also add a voice recording. Highly recommended for students.

Microsoft OneNote 2003 - Licence

Strengths: Interesting organization for managing notes

Weakness: Not really useful for me; Limited application in 'real world'

Onenote seems like it would have use for two markets:

1. High-school and college-level students interested in managing their school notes
2. Business people who frequently attend meetings and take many notes (perhaps the same target market as for TabletPC).

The product works but after playing with it I can't really find much use for me in my day-to-day activities. I think it probably would work great for the two groups described above, but I don't fall into either group, and purchased it primarily for the novelty.

My two star rating may be a bit misleading, but I'm going by the strictest definition of the rating. Two stars means "It works, but would not purchase again" and this is exactly how I feel about it. I definitely could see other people rating it a 5-stars assuming it meets their requirements more than it met mine.

MS OneNote 2003

Strengths: ease of organizing notes

After using OneNote for a few days I have decided to stop using it. I have been using it with Windows XP on my MacBook Pro. I find that the software is easy to use, but isn't nearly as quick at organizing notes that require diagrams, charts, and anything other than words. This would probably be a great piece of software for people with Tablet PCs since you can take notes right to the screen.

God's Gift for Students ...

Strengths: Excellent Organizing Capabilities - Very Portable.

Weakness: No in-built convertor for directly importing various file formats within your notes.

After starting my MBA program recently, I was looking for a program option to organize all of my class notes, rather than just using separate Word files for this purpose. When I saw a classmate use OneNote, I downloaded the trial software from the Microsoft web-site, and instantly fell in love with it! It feels like carrying a multiple-subject file folder with page markers stuck of many of the pages.

Microsoft OneNote 2003 - Licence

Strengths: easy to do note-taking,good to organize and manage files

Weakness: none so far

I like to buy any cool and fancy IT product. This one-note software really helps me manage and organize my notes.Very helpful in note taking, you don't need to do SAVE or SAVE AS,never, this might be the most outstanding part i have worked out so far.
I heard from a friend who is also using softward that you can actually do note taking with a pen if you have a touch pad. Need to explore more funtions.

Microsoft OneNote 2003 - Licence

Strengths: It's quick to load, and loads to the last "page" in your notebook that you were using, which makes getting started fast really easy.

This is a very well thought out program, that makes it much easier to stay organized and take notes quickly. I find that I am able to type far quicker than I can write, so taking notes is much easier on the computer. Plus, afterwards, it's a lot easier to reorganize or rearrange digital notes than paper notes. You can click anywhere and start typing, just like you can do in a "real" notebook.

One of the best features (that makes this surpass Word for any type of note-taking situation) is that you do not need to save, EVER. I have accidentally lost power on my PC and not lost any information.

All in all, however, this is a sleek program, that runs swiftly and is a great tool for note-taking.

Microsoft OneNote 2003 - Licence

Strengths: Good note-taking, and work-management application

Weakness: Works well only with Office 2003, small scope of usefulness (school and sales/marketing).

I wouldn't purchase this particular peice of software again had I tried it before I bought it. I recommend checking the Microsoft website for a 30-day trial before buying it. But if you take a lot of notes, I would recommend just buying it. The ideal setup for this software would be a tablet-laptop (i.e. the laptops with touchscreens, where you can write/draw directly on the screens - the ones that cost an extra $1000 just for this somewhat useful feature). With Office 2003 + OneNote 2003 loaded on the tablet notebook, note-taking would be a breeze.
