I have not had great success in using this item.
I have been using this unit for about 5 months now and mine works great. I can copy from dish network to DVD also copy copyrighted VHS to DVD no problem. I got mine at a local BB store. All I did was plug and go. The DVDs I have done and finalized on my SONY recorder work great on other machines. The Sony will not record 99% of the tapes and off the air video's because they say copy right protection. Problem is I have bought and paid for these I own them to look at. It is the same deal we had with cassette tapes 40 years ago. It sucks this time as well. But if they want me come and get me i do not make a dime at this and I own everything I have copied so let us do the dance I have the time and the money to play the hokeypokey with them.

Can this be used with a combo. VHS-DVD recorder unit?
I have enjoyed reading all of the reviews for this product, and appreciate those who took the time to give feedback.
So far, everything I have read about this product talks about connecting it from a VCR (or camcorder) via an S-video or composite plugs to a separate video recorder.
Does anyone know if this could be hooked up to work internally with a unit that combines the VCR (to play the VHS I want to record) with the DVD recorder (which I hope to copy my VHS onto) in the same unit? I have a Panasonic DMR-ES46V.
Thank you!
