This Responder SST System from Viper is a 2-way Security and Remote Start system! The interactive display on your Responder remote confirms all commands – virtually instantly – with easy to understand icons and text. It alerts users to security system triggers by beeping or vibrating when out of audible range of the siren. And of course this system will also start your vehicle with the push of a button, and you will get confirmation back that it started from up to one mile away. Please refer to the technology section for more information about Responder SST technology. minimize

5 Star Review 5900 SST 2 Way Alarm w/ Remote Start

Strengths:

Sick system. I recently installed it in my 05 civic. On campus I get about 1/4 mile with buildings and/or obstructions. It has easily worked from a 1/2 mile in the massive parking area.

Weaknesses:

None. Doesn't get the full 'One mile' range, but it supersedes any other remote start out there.

Posted Dec 4, 2007 - By the time the remote is in range of turning your car on and by the time you reach the car by walking distance, the vehicle will be more than toasty/or A/C'ed. The 'brain' has more than enough channels to add accessories. I would recommend purchasing a bat backup and isolate the grounding and the 12v constant w/ diodes -> This way if they cut the ground & power, the sirens and brain will still function. Best module out their in my opinion is the Ultrasonic Interior Sensor (509U). Even if they break into your car 'silently', their is no way they can trick the air pressure. Even if the door is gently opened (avoiding the shock sensor & door trigger), the pressure sensor will be tripped. I have seen dual radar sensors, and they can be very sensitive if not set to the correct sensitivity. Well goodluck.

5 Star Review Great Product!

Strengths:

Long Range, Great Features

Weaknesses:

Signal Loss

Posted 1 year ago - So it may seem like I'm contradicting myself in the strengths and weaknesses but let me explain. It's got great range, but from what it seems, if the system is trying to send a signal at the same time you're trying to send a signal, there's no transmission at all. Other tan that, the features are great and the system works like a charm. DEI did good on this one.

Thank you for the valuable feedback!

5 Star Review Viper 5900 Car alarm with remote start

Strengths:

One mile range, Endless features, small sized siren which you can hide anywhere, module is really small and easy to hide, easiest to use top of the line alarm.

Weaknesses:

Sometimes when standing too close to the car you need to press lock or unlock two times for it to function, and remote start has to be pressed twice with 1sec delay to start the car.

Posted 1 year ago - I just bought this thing because of so long distance range, and I installed it myself, even this was the second alarm I installed so far in my life. Haven't even blew single fuse, even it got little tricky, works perfect though, all I need is bypass for my immobilizer so it'll start, it starts but only when key is in ignition. Nice features, definitelly worth of money. If you want stable, good quality, top of the line alarm, 5900 is the way to go!!!!!

Thank you for the valuable feedback!

Strengths:

1 Mile Radius which is an awesome feature to have

Weaknesses:

Set-up might be difficult

Posted 1 year ago - I just purchased a new 2008 lancer gts with the smart key function. The technician I spoke with recommends this product but installing it might be the tricky part. Overall good product.
