Great Option

Strengths:

If you are looking for an inexpensive way to digitaly record tracks from your band, this is great way to go.

Weaknesses:

none

Posted Oct 15, 2007 - If you are looking for an inexpensive way to digitally record tracks from your band, this is great way to go. Many of the digital recording options are expensive and if you already have a mixer, then you don't need all the fancy softwear that they come with

Best Recording device out there!

Strengths:

Editing functions are awesome!

Weaknesses:

The function to get more music on the disc. It dimmishes the quality of the music.

Posted Oct 1, 2006 - Great recording device. Use standard record mode for the best sounding music. The editing function is like nothing I have ever used. To be able to undo the editing function if you make a mistake also dividing, erasing, and combining makes is machine rate above any other recording device.

Sony MDS-JE480 Minidisc Deck

Strengths:

Great machine for replacing a cassette deck. Controls work smoothly and disc goes into machine with hardly any effort. Audio quality is great.

Weaknesses:

No headphone jack supplied.

Posted Dec 25, 2005 - A nice piece of audio for less than 1/3 that of the MDS-JE510. Does everything the other machine did and more except for the headphone jack feature. I liked the way the older machine faceplate was arranged, It looked better but that's progress I guess. I certainly recommend this machine to anyone looking for quality, price and sound.

MINIDISC IS THE WAY TO GO

GREAT EDITING FEATURES - CLEAR SOUND - EASY NAVIGATION OF CONTROL PANEL

Posted Nov 20, 2007 - A COMPLETE MACHINE. GOOD CLEAN SOUND AND EDITING ON THE THIN SIDE OF A DIME. THERE'S LITTLE THIS UNIT DOESN'T DO. THIS UNIT WILL REPLACE YOUR CASSETTE RECORDER AND DO SO MUCH MORE. THE SPECIAL EFFECTS SECTION (S.F. EDIT) ALLOWS YOU TO FADE IN - FADE OUT - AND ADJUST THE TRACK LEVEL AFTER IT'S BEEN RECORDED. THE BEST PART OF THIS IS THAT THE MINIDISC IS COMPLETELY ERASABLE. I HAVE THREE OF THESE UNITS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH ANY OF THEM.
