The Fellowes P-57Cs with Patented SafeSense Technology is ideal for use in the home or home office. Patented SafeSense Technology stops shredder immediately when hands are too close to the paper opening. Shreds up to 8 sheets per pass into 5/32" x 2” cross-cut particles as fast as 85 sheets per minute. Equipped with a 9" paper entry, the P-57Cs easily accepts letter or legal size documents, and features durable steel cutters that accept credit cards and staples. A power shred for the home

Strengths:

What I've liked best about the shredder is its ability to easily shred through larger numbers of papers than advertised and its self sensor that shuts down before it overheats.

Weaknesses:

My old shredder had a see through mesh area that made it easy to see when you needed to empty it. This one does not.

Posted Jan 25, 2008 - I had a Fellowes shredder previously and really liked, but I basically wore it out through a little extra - um abuse. This one has been great so far and is a bit less noisy than I am used to which is quite nice.

Review for Fellowes Powershred P-57Cs

Strengths:

Inexpensive and quite fast.

Weaknesses:

It jams with 5 sheets of paper, the shredded paper is a little too long.

Posted Mar 26, 2008 - This is a replacement of another shredder. Compared to my old shredder, the only thing I don't like is the fact that the shredded paper's a little too long.

Good Shredder for this price

Strengths:

Quiet, Quick and Easy to operate (removal of shredded confetti and the reversal switch). Good price

Weaknesses:

Sensor is too sensetive. It overheats if shred a lot (longer than 7-8 mins).

Posted Mar 13, 2008 - After a long and detailed research, I bought this shredder, which does a "confetti" cut. It works flawlessly. It is quiet, relatively quick and shreds relatively easy. Although, advertised 8 pages shred is a bit too much, 6-7 pages is OK. I am satisfied with the quality and the price.I would highly recommend this shredder.

Fellowes Paper Shredder

Strengths:

Has a waste basket attached.

Weaknesses:

Is not recommended to shred newspaper, but the description did not mention that shortcoming.

Posted 1 year ago - I wanted a shredder to shred newspaper for garden, but this one is not recommended to do that and the description made not mention of that whatsoever. It seems to be manufactured specifically to shred junk mail, and does have a special section of the blades to shred credit cards, so that is a plus.

Fellow's Powershred P-57C's Shredder

Strengths:

Shreds paper, credit cards etc. very well

Weaknesses:

Shredder safety cover for blades not very sturdy.

Posted 1 year ago - The shredder works quite well. Easy to clean and empty. The only thing I am disappointed about is that the safety cover for the blades is made from very cheap plastic and the hinges are very small and made of plastic. While I was unpacking the unit the hinges broke off.

P-57 Shredder Reviewed

Posted 1 year ago - Bought this shredder a month or two ago. So far it has done the job but I'm a bit disappointed in the unit's power; had difficulty shredding a credit card, but no problem with up to 5 sheets. Unit is quiet which is helpful when working at night with the kids already asleep. If the unit continues to be durable, I'd say its a fair buy but not 5 stars.

works great

Strengths:

shreds quickly, can do 8 pages at once, sort of quiet

Weaknesses:

not sure- haven't tried shredding a cd yet. i wish the trash can was stronger though.

Posted 1 year ago - I've only had this for a few weeks. I use it sparingly to shred junk mail and bills. I must say it's a lot better then the staples shredders though. I shred about 5 sheets at a time and it goes smoothly and quickly through. The slot is wide enough so I don't have to center the paper quickly and the sensor hasn't had any problems yet.
