5 Star Review Great PDA/GPS Combo!

Strengths:

Big and bright screen, dual PDA/GPS capability, syncs well with Outlook

Weaknesses:

A bit slow booting up when turned on

Posted Apr 20, 2006 - I have owned two other PDAs and I have been very happy with the Axim X51v's performance Not only does it excel in the normal PDA functions, but for a fraction of the cost of a stand alone GPS device, it can be inexpensively upgraded to be an excellent GPS device, too! To purchase a new PDA and a separate GPS device, I would easily spend over $1,100.00! But for significantly less, I get a GPS and a PDA all in one! I use it almost everyday in its GPS capacity and it has never failed to get me where I need to go! Except for the cumbersome wires from the GPS satelite receiver, cigarette lighter and power cord to the PDA, I have nothing negative to say about this excellent 2 in 1 inexpensive PDA/GPS!

5 Star Review The Perfect PDA

Strengths:

Long battery life, lighthning speed

Weaknesses:

None

Posted Nov 23, 2005 - This is the bet PDA I have ever owned and believe me I went through a lot of PDA's in the last 2 years. This is the first PDA, that is able to keep all my medical software at the same time and still have enough space for other programs. It has a super fast CPU, I can run multiple programs at the same time. It has a super long battery life, so I do not have worry about charging it. I love the screen, it is bright and easy to see.

4 Star Review Axim X51v PDA

Strengths:

Excellent resolution

Weaknesses:

Windows Mobile not compatible with other applications

Posted Oct 22, 2006 - The PDA works well except for locking up several times a day. In addition, one application (Microsoft Reader) needs to be rebooted during use. In addition, imbedded images could not be viewed within Pocket Word.

5 Star Review Great Axim

Strengths:

Small, battery life, wi-fi, dock, case, screen quality, GPS, games, cool functions.

Weaknesses:

occasionally doesnt turn on, then you just have to do a soft reset. sometimes i see a little glitch which causes horizontal lines on the screen

Posted Jan 23, 2006 - Good item overall, I like the writing functions because it makes it easier to write. I use this axim in class to take notes. I also use the phonebook quite frequently. It also comes with a few demo games like scrabble, bejeweled 2, and pool which helps me pass time. Wi-Fi capability is also a strength.

5 Star Review x51v PDA

Strengths:

Awesome Screen. Great Features. Good price.

Weaknesses:

None.

Posted Nov 3, 2005 - This is one great PocketPC from Dell that has an amazing screen, one of the fastest processors, loaded with features like SD & CF slots, Bluetooth & WiFi & IR, smooth design, and is good looking. It has everything and is priced well. You can put in a 2GB card and carry your movies around on this to watch anywhere. You can use it as a GPS with an optional GPS receiver. Possibilities are endless. Battery life is satisfactory though not very good. But overall its a great buy. love it.

4 Star Review This will nice in a year or so when bugs are worked out.

Strengths:

VGA screen, reasonable price, lots of features--624mhz, 256 mb memory. Takes sd and cf cards.

Weaknesses:

many

Posted Dec 29, 2005 - This PDA will nice in a year or so when bugs are worked out of the operating system . WM5 is horrible. NOT true VGA support w/o hacks. Syncing is trouble to get going. And the x51v trys to sync every five minutes or so without cause. I am still having problems with the CF disappearing and occasional COMPLETE & UNEXPLAINED battery drain. Bluetooth support leave much to be desired. Once they get the bugs out the unit will have incredible video, GPS support, games, etc.

5 Star Review Testing and Testing this PDA as Laptop Replacement and So far So Good

Strengths:

Strong graphics, amazing speed, even the standard battery has a long life, I got the addittional battery larger size but haven't used it yet. Wifi is superb, Amazing and great GPS worth it.

Weaknesses:

Not yet found any, 2gb SD card has lots of space still. Every website, crystal clear, SmartTV is amazing, Full features, Outlook, only wish Powerpoint could be interactive

Posted Jul 17, 2006 - I came as a great skeptic, not thinking I could ever think of replacing my laptop and as a frequent flier I am finding that this powerful PDA is really a strong contender for any cell phone PDA out there. HUGE Bonus, You NEVER have to pay monthly fees for subscriptions or by the KB. My take, is that the cellphone industry is trying to corner the PDA market and charge you for every ala carte item they can. This is amazing, like a mini DVD, gamer and full feature WIFI Bluetooth you can ever get.

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

4 Star Review the best product I have bought.

Strengths:

Long battery life, SD & CF slots, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Weaknesses:

Little bit larger

Posted Nov 30, 2005 - I had Dell Axim X30 and Palm. This is the 3rd PDA I have. Basically, this is the best one I have. Longer battery life, 6 hours; VGA screen; and SD/CF card slots which make a CF GPS receiver possible with an external SD memory card. Th size is little bit bigger than my X30, but it also have a larger screen which make it looks better.

5 Star Review Dell x51v

Strengths:

Unbelievable VGA Screen, Fast 624 MHz processor, SD & CF Memory Slots, Reasonable Size, Replaceable Battery, Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and Lock Switch.

Weaknesses:

Size is not the most compact, but I didn't expect smaller for all these features and functionality

Posted Nov 3, 2005 - This is my first PDA ever. It looks stylish, although a bit bulky. I really love it. Equipped with Wifi and Bluetooth, it is convenient to connected to the internet. The VGA screen looks beautiful and must be good for game playing. Highly recommended.

4 Star Review A good PDA from DELL

Strengths:

large screen, high resolution, built-in bluetooth and WI-FI, great for daily use.

Weaknesses:

It could be better if there is a built-in camera.

Posted Jan 1, 2006 - The 3.7 inch screen with 16 bits color really shocks me at first. The high speed CPU, the large memory, and the stylish outlook beat my previous x30 a lot. It includes the WI-FI. You don't need to carry your laptop anymore, and this PDA can satisfy your normal internet use. Furthermore, X51v does well in playing Mp3 and movies, even games. I am really satisfied with the performance, and Dell's tech support is very good too.

5 Star Review Most powerful PDA you can get now

Strengths:

build in WIFI + bluetooth. fast and compact.

Weaknesses:

Screen angle for good viewing is very limited.

Posted Oct 26, 2005 - Most powerful PDA you can get now and not to mention first to run windows mobile 5.0. In general, this PFA is fast and the compact size makes carrying it around fun. The built in WIFI + bluetooth opens up the realm of applications you can run on it. Use the open source SJphone for voip capabilities. The one big cons is that the screen angle for good viewing is very limited.

Design, speed, options

Weaknesses:

one cradle with my order

Posted Dec 14, 2005 - I was looking for a pda to replace my Dell x5 and came across the x51V. I loved the features of this PDA having used my friends for a day and decided it was the one I was going to get. I love the wireless internet connection, it really passes time in malls when my wife is trying on clothes, I just wish every mall had wifi!

5 Star Review Very Good PDA

Strengths:

Large ROM. Big Screen. BT and WiFi

Weaknesses:

Battery, RAM

Posted Nov 22, 2005 - This is a very good PDA. I have a X5 before. Compare to X5, X51v has larger Screen and ROM. And it has bluetooth and WiFi integrated. It is easy to expend a BT GPS. The only weaknesses are the small battery and the small RAM. If Dell can add 128RAM, then x51v will be a dream PDA.
