HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: Compact size, Bluetooth and WiFi support, good variety of hand writing recognition options.

Weakness: PocketPC2003, a pain in the butt to actually shut down a program. Also it crashed on me twice in 2 days. I was using everything bluetooth, wifi, surfing the web, checking my email. Buggy OS.

I love the size of this thing. It's also very very feature packed. However, you will definitely need a 256mb or larger expansion card if you intend to store videos, MP3s, and pictures in this thing. In my case, I have a bluetooth GPS unit so the maps take up a lot of room. Bottom line is: Not perfect but definitely the best you can do for now. =)

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: Versatility (wifi, BT built-in), huge screen on such a compact device. Compact version of Windows is much more adaptable than Palm

Weakness: The battery life is abysmal. Handwriting recognition isn't as good as Palm's OS.

Other than the battery life I love my 4155! The thing fits easily into my pants pocket and I use it for all sorts of random notes. I've taken it to Ikea to record measurements and model information. I use it as a journal to jot down fleeting ideas when inspiration hits. It's a useful web browsing tool when I'm in range of a wireless-b network. My girlfriend uses it to check recipies online straight from her kitchen and I've set my fantasy baseball lineup on it. If you get a 4155 you'll eventually need to get an SD card so factor that into the cost. And if you're always on the move (which you probably are if you're buying this) then I highly recommend a hardcase so you don't beat the thing to a pulp in transit.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: It's wireless support is great. I can go to any hotspot in town an get connected with my wifi or my blue tooth connection. It's as easy as a touch to the screen to turn one on. It's just great.

Weakness: Besides the battery life, I haven't found any other.

I have yet to see the problems with this unit, but if I were to pick one, it would probably be the the fact that the battery takes a while to charge anf that it doesn't last too long while its wifi connection is turned on. I never really timed it, but it does drain the battery pretty quickly. I do like the fact that it comes with a cradle, a case, a removable(replaceable) battery and built in wireless connectivity. I briefly owned another PocketPC that only came with a usb cord and a charger. This one even comes with an extra pen and a easy to use guide. I must say that this is a great improvement over my old one. I'm sure palm users will always like palms, but this one is worth checking out.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: WiFi+Bluetooth, swappable battery, compact/lightweight, Graffitti compatibility. Slightly less bulky than a T3. Handwriting mode.

Weakness: Web Browser has no landscape mode. IrDa port is in a weird location. Found one bug.

I've deserted after being a Palm user for 7 years.

The Tungsten T3 has a superior screen (higher resolution and landscape mode), but the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo and removable (ergo upgradeable) battery on the h4155 won me
over.

WiFi is great, I can run the bandwidth meter on 2wire.com and I get 510 Kbps, which is the same speed I get on my 2.8 GHz desktop PC! This is using the WiFi I have at home, with DSL.

Bluetooth through my phone only gives me dialup type speeds, so I chose fast-loading screens over nice-looking ones.

If you're planning to use a lot of Infrared, beware that
the infrared port is at the bottom of the unit, which I
think is pretty inconvenient.

The Graffitti was a nice surprise, after being a Palm user
for such a long time, I was dreading the switch, not knowing
that Microsoft had licensed Graffiti from Palm Inc.

The handwriting recognition works surprisingly well, and I may switch to that.

I found a bug with the builtin Microsoft Word. When I e-mailed a diagram created in the device, the drawing looked different (broken) on my PC.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: Wireless works great

Weakness: Battery Life a little soft

I've owned several Palm Powered PDA's and found that this device is much more productive in a business environment. I travel frequently and use this exclusively now.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: WiFi (although with bugs), bluetooth (useless with its 30 feet range (bluetooth is dead finally)

Weakness: the YELLOW TINT problem specific to every 4100 series, and 1900s.

This is my 6th Pocket PC and 3rd Ipaq.

Problems (so far):

1- The BIGGEST problem that is visible as soon as you open the box and turn the device on is its YELLOW TINTED screen. If you look at the screen at 10 degrees angle, the white screen turns into yellow. The blue has tendency to look like green. This was a great problem for me, I like white to be white, blue to be blue.
2- Although, WiFi connection seemed to be working fine at the beginning, I kept not being able to connect any Internet using applications to the Internet, although the device was recieving signal from the network.
3- Moreover, there is an "inherent" problem for every IPAQ with Bluetooth or WiFi that freezes the Internet Explorer (IE). IE works fine if you turn it on "before" the WiFi is on. However, if you try to turn IE on after WiFi, it freezes, you will need to make a soft-reset.
I fixed this problem by doing a hard reset once again. Costed me a day to reconfig and load all the apps.

As a result, this is just an OK device, but it is not worthed more than $250 let alone $449 price tag.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: Great screen (crisp, accurrate colors and even brightness around the edges and center), light-weight, built-in 802.11b and Bluetooth, wide variety of accessories available.

Weakness: A little too light-weight (might seem cheap/flimsy to some people...this is why I gave it 4 stars out of 5), no Compact Flash slot.

I ordered this PDA for my wife for her birthday. I went back and forth between getting her a Toshiba e755 (which is the PDA I use), a Dell Axim X3 and this one (HP H4155). After using them all, I found the HP H4155 had the best feature set for the money. The combo of built-in Bluetooth and WiFi was one of the more major plusses in my book. I have Wifi built into my Toshiba e755 and still get the CF/SD slots (the HP H4155 lacks a CF slot) and previously had thought I'd rather opt for the extra slot to use a wider variety of accessories. But, on trying the Bluetooth SD card by Toshiba, I found that it protrudes a little too much for my tastes (it won't fit easily into my PDA case because it sticks out the top too far). That fact, along with SD cards coming down in price to almost match CF card pricing, pushed me to select the H4155.

The screen is bright and crisp. Colors are produced accurately and the default contrast settings are better than my Toshiba e755 (you can't change the contrast on the e755, even if you re-enable the MS WM2003 contrast icon in the registry, but you can change it on the H4155).

Having Wifi as well as Bluetooth built-in makes me envious of my wife's new toy. I may very well end up selling my Toshiba on eBay and picking one up for myself!

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: Compact and beautiful design. I love wireless and bluetooth component.

Weakness: Battery life goes down quickly, esp when connect the wireless internet. A little bit yellow screen when seeing in the angle, but it doesn't annoy me anymore.

I have just changed from my Clie to this pocket PC. I think it's not familiar for the first few hours, after that everything is OK. We try to find the pocket PC which is small, easy for travel with and also have every new tech in it....I think this IPAQ 4155 is the answer!

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: The wi-fi is a good feature, you can use it everywhere, like at borders bookstore where they have a high speed T-mobile hotspot

Weakness: The bluetooth has only a 30 foot radius and it only has standard dial-up speed.

The wi-fi is really good, especially if you have a high internet connection, I figured it has about 11 Mbps. That is a great internet connection. Sometimes you might want to clear some internet files and download the internet explorer update. Once in a while yu might need to hard reset the [pcket pc(it's kinda like re-installing you OS on your computer, to clean out unwanted files)
Overall, it is an excellen product

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: small, compact, versatle

Weakness: not enough storage space for the money spent on this device, could almost buy a notebook

I had a Palm (as most have) and my reason for changing was difficulty to read screen (older version). I tried ViewSonic, Sony (WAY too difficult), HP refurb (some problems) then new 2215, thought I needed wireless...so trying 4155. I agree with all of the comments about this unit. It is very versatle and easy to use. However, should have larger storage space for the money. But that is probably in the immediate future!

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: Very small in size, lightweight, easy to use.

Weakness: A keyboard would be nice....but that's a different model, and bigger.

I have never used a pocket PC before, so this is the first one I'm trying. So far, I'm very happy with it, I'm mainly going to use it to synz with my work calendar and contacts. But hopefully, I'll be able to use it with my wireless for internet access, but will figure that out later. I definitely like that it's based on Windows, makes me feel at home!

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h4155 Pocket PC

Strengths: Ease of use, features, size

Weakness: Relatively short battery life

I have been a Palm user since the original model came out. I am crazy about the Palm OS. So why did I switch to an iPAQ? It seemed to have a lot of features that Palm did not have. The prices have gotten more competitive. The iPAQ offers both Bluetooth and WiFi.

Am I sorry I switched? NO!!! I could not be happier with my 4155. The abundant features are easy to use. The WiFi works great. The display is beautiful.

Overall I would give it about a 9.5 out of 10.

HP iPAQ 4155 Review

The 4150, much anticipated since rumors of it surfaced several months ago, should also be a hot unit. Why? It's just a hair larger than the iPAQ 1945 which is the smallest Pocket PC, yet it offers both built-in Bluetooth and WiFi and has no external antennas. In short, it's absolutely sweet!
