HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ rz1715 Mobile Media...

Strengths: Nothing that goes above and beyond what you would expect, i.e. color screen, easy to operate.

Weakness: Processor speed and RAM are horribly slow and prone to freezing. No user replaceable battery, aka this model may be decently priced but HP is going to get more $ when the warrenty expires.

HP RZ1715 is a dud. Despite my religious nightly charging and use of SD memory cards, the HP rz1715 froze frequently and eventually crashed. Thanks to the lack of a user replaceable battery it's going to cost $110 to replace the battery and at least 8 days for HP to ship, repair, and return the PDA. I would strongly advise against purchasing this PDA. Try a Dell Axim X30 or X51 instead.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ rz1715 Mobile Media...

Strengths: Fast setup. Easy to read screens.

Weakness: A little difficult in transferring data from laptop.

Would have been nice, at such a price, to have a case included. Liked it so much that we bought 2 of them, one for my husband and one for my daughter. Should have never hesitated purchasing one of these, it's one of the best products we have purchased from HP.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ rz1715 Mobile Media...

Strengths: Window sysrem

Weakness: No wireless card

It is just like small computer. Very good interface, and you can install many software. As I said it is a small computer. If you bought wireless card or connect to internet, you almost don't need laptop. There are many interesting function for you to find. It is really good PDA.

Strengths: stable OS, good picture quality, good features

Weakness: could have more features

Havent tried out all the features yet but am pretty happy with the piece for $200...Has all the features i need, the screen resolution is great and weight is small...charge time is slightly longer but worth it...

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ rz1715 Mobile Media...

Strengths: easy to use; easy synchronization to MS Outlook & other MS applications; color screen

Weakness: does not come with case

Other people at work use a Palm brand PDA and they say it does not sync easily with MS applications. The HP palm does. I really enjoy this product, although I don't use all the functions. I only use it for my calendar, contacts & tasks and I love it.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ rz1715 Mobile Media...

Strengths: very nice screen great compact size

Weakness: no wifi no bluetooth slow processor (compared to competitor) its an mp3 player with a calendar no memory

I am rather disappointed with this pda (my first)
perhaps years ago this would have been a great idea, but now my cell phone has a calendar and a phone book. Had i wanted to buy a $250 mp3 player i could have gotten alot more storage. (perhaps the understatement of 2005)

If you want functionality improved on the 1715, you can increase storage OR add a wifi card. But it will cost more than you will spend on the next model Ipaq (or competitor) which comes with bluetooth and wifi and more storage at only $50-100 more. Which means you can be wireless and/or bluetoothed and then have up to a 1gb secure digital card used for storage.

I am returning this tomorrow and upgrading.

you are wrong about what you said. first of all, isn't it good that your cell phone has calendar and phone book? second of all, why would you want to buy an ipaq just for music? third of all, buy the ipaq at ask.com. they have it for a much lower price if you go to products. fourth of all, you can buy 1 gig memory card for 66 dollars. fifth of all... THEY ALREADY HAVE A 1 GIG MEMORY CARD FOR IT!

HP iPAQ rz1715 Review

Since the rz1715 isn't a speed demon when it comes to processor and graphics speeds, it won't be the top choice of avid video fans and gamers. If you want to watch web quality videos (under 300k bitrate) it will do fine. However, if you're a frequent video watcher or encode your own movies from DVD at high bitrates, do consider a higher end model.
