Intel 400MHz - 64MB RAM/ - 32MB ROM - 3.5" Active Matrix TFT Color LCD - 65536 Colors 16-bit - MPN: FA159A8ZP
Strengths: Dual slots, small size, fast
Weakness: Minor - no record button or scroll wheel, small touchpad, CF slug can get lost easily. Less usable memory and flash storage than most comparable units
Overall, I love this thing. Having two slots is fantastic - I can boost my effective memory with a 512MB SD card and still use a variety of peripherals in the CF slot (modem, WLAN, and especially GPS). CF slots are getting less common, but there are still a lot of peripherals for them, and SD equivalents are still rare and expensive (and even if I had an SD GPS unit, where would I store the large map files?). Integrated WLAN would be nice, but I've found the integrated Bluetooth more useful - I can sync with it, which I hadn't been able to do with WLAN. If I have to choose, I'd take CF over integrated WLAN every time (though I concede others might not). It's large enough to hold easily (perfect with the Rhinoskin case, which I highly recommend), but still very "pocketable", unlike many other PPC's, especially those with CF slots. It also runs faster than my older PPC's, especially the browser.
Drawbacks: I occasionally miss the record button and scroll wheel that other PPC's have. I find the touchpad a bit small, but I have unusually large hands. There is a plastic piece that goes in the CF slot when it's unoccupied, and it's easy to lose. Finally, several (maybe 8-10) megs of the RAM are used by the OS, and the flash storage space is small (just a few megs) compared to many other units. However, since I only need to use the CF for I/O purposes, I use that big SD card all the time and rarely have storage issues.
I'd definitely buy the h2215 again.

TopStrengths: This product is nearly second to none in bang for your buck, overall satisfaction, quality and excellent design!!! Buttons are sized right and funtionality is superb!!!
Weakness: PC World has (again) stated wrong information: This device does NOT contain a Mic input plug like it states, it's built in! The PDA though; no known weaknesses to offer!
Wonderful product, email me personally if you question something [axnjxn@t-online.de]. I was immensely surprised on how competently built this product was designed. With NEVO, how could you loose? NEVO rocks!! Need to controll alllll of your electronics? This has the ability to control all of them and learn from all remotes too! Kicks butt!!!
You will be pleased!

TopStrengths: Compact Flash and Secure Digital Slots Small and light (compared to older PDAs) Fast 400 MHz processor Nice extra software (Nevo remote control, HP Mobile Printing) Replaceable battery
Weakness: Larger than other PDAs like the 1945 Expensive
I used to have a Jornada 525, but got tired of not being able to install new games and software on it. It was pretty big and clunky too. So I decided to get a new HP IPAQ. Since I did not want to spend a lot of money buying secure digital cards when I have plenty of compact flash cards, my only choice in the HP IPAQ line was the 2215 (which is supposed to be the same as the 2210). Once I saw it in person at a store, I was hooked.
I have a friend who bought the 1945. Just as an FYI, it does not come with the Nevo remote control software, nor does it come with a cradle. That makes the price difference between the 1945 and the 2215 a little less, especially since I needed to have a cradle.
The internet "pass-through" option (using ActiveSync) is really great! You can web surf and such, while the PDA is in the cradle. I believe this was added with Pocket PC 2002.
The Bluetooth is disappointing; I bought a dongle for my main computer and set up communication between it and the PDA, but the internet connection is SLOW! I have cable modem so that is not where the problem lies. I am planning to get a wireless network compact flash card and see if that is any better. I was able to transfer files with the Bluetooth with no problems.
The Nevo remote control software is great! I have yet to find a unit that it cannot control, and I have programmed in about 10 so far. It was a great extra that I didn't even know about until the PDA arrived.
Every piece of software I have installed (except for PocketMusic, which I think is a problem with that software) has worked flawlessly. It is very fast, at least compared to the Jornada. Even though I paid quite a bit for the 2215, I feel that it was money well spent and I do not regret the purchase.

TopStrengths: Relatively light, small, powerful and expandable
Weakness: Systems tend to get unstable at times -- especially after "sync and pull", system won't turn on unless reset
This is a very handy PDA. Not only does it support CF and SD, it also produce clear and crisp music.
I was debating between iPaq H1945 and H2215, but considering the regular cable vs. the "included" cradle, 2.5mm vs. standard 3.5mm ear phone jack and the Intel 400 vs. SamSung 266MHz processor, I have chosen the H2215 over the H1945, at a cost of extra ~$100.
This is afterall a great PDA.

TopStrengths: compact size, screen resolution, dual slots, PPC 2003, company
Weakness: No built-in WiFi, lower capacity battery, no cover for SD slot
I owned the iPAQ 3650 (original color version) and 3150 (monochrome) previously. Both worked flawlessly but with the needed CompactFlash sleeve adapter were pretty much bricks. Also the lack of a user replaceable battery hurt. I flirted with the Toshiba models... smaller, CF slots on board as well as WiFi. But the screen on the Toshiba's never matched my trusty 2 yr old 3650.
In comes the new 2215/2210 models. I only needed to see the specs online to decide it was time for an upgrade. I'm not the least sorry.
The 2215 is a sleek, pocket-sized device about the size of a remote control. Side by side with my 3650, the colors are deeper and more vibrant. Onboard flash card slots (CF and SDIO) make this a killer PPC.
I don't own any BlueTooth devices so have no need for the bult-in BT. WiFi would have been a better fit for my home network.
The included power adapter/dongle makes it easy to use my old 3650 power cable for travel charging. Alarms are a bit quiet, but video and music scream. Also it's cheaper than what I originally paid for my 3650.
Corporate users with specialized needs go for the 5500's: use the old sleeve/brick model and have higher capacity batteries. Entry-level light users stick to the cheaper 1910's: you only get an SD slot and a non-standard headphone jack (2.5mm with an adapter). The 2215's are for midrange users: more bang for buck.
One wish: make some higher capacity batteries so we can extend the usuable life of these sweet devices.

TopStrengths: I love my 2215, esp. w/ the expansion slots. The 1910 has a much better display. Why?? My 2215 is better than the HP 568. 2215 works great and feels good in my hand. Good product. It's fast, reliable
Weakness: 1910 has best display, 2215 is pretty good.
Buy 2215 u wont be disappointed. HP needs to put the 1910 screen in the 2215 model. I love the expansion cards to back up my 2215 and to add more memory. Over all the 2215 is excellant.

TopStrengths: Small, light, stylish, 2 memory slots, easy to configure/use.
Weakness: Battery life.
I bought one of these for my wife a few weeks ago. Not previously being enamoured by PDA's very much, I wasn't expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised. This was very easy to setup, and to use, and works seamlessly with our PC. This PDA has totally changed the way that I think about PDA's. I may even buy one for myself now.

TopStrengths: Compact, light, very functional. Secure Digital and Compact Flash Slots. Bluetooth, bright and clear screen.
Weakness: Boot up time from a soft reset.
I have owned three iPaqs previous to this one and I am happy with this one the most. An iPaq with a Compact Flash slot!!! Who would have thought! It is very light and faster than my 3955 was. The screen is not as nice as my 3955 was, but is still great.
The only thing I do not like about the 22xx series and the 19xx series iPaqs is that some of the ROM is loaded onto RAM after a soft reset. This not only takes up time (15 - 20 seconds), but it also takes up some of your RAM, 8 MB to be exact. Out of the 64 MB, only 56 MB can be used by the user. It is the only flaw so far, so I still gave it 5 stars.

TopStrengths: Pocket PC 2003, the new IE, Bluetooth, dual slot, softwares, light weight
Weakness: Thickness, rear speaker, , battery life, screen (worse than HP 1910, better than Toshiba, plastic cover
I just got this one... My sixth (6th) PPC.
This screen is not bad but not as good as HP 1910.. why?? beats me!
Bluetooth is great. It should replace WiFi at homes. I was able to get in to WWW, and my MS Instant Messenger easly via my Sony Ericcson t68i thru ATT GPRS.
It is FAST, It doesn't have any video freezings that I had with older PPCs.
The price is right. (don't pay more than $300 ~350)
Rubber sides are great. It kind of looks like Dell's "horrible Axim" but much only "smaller".
The best PPC for the value.
Ahh, let's not forget dual slot expensions: SD and CF.
Must have, good for starters and novice as well.......................

TopStrengths: It's light, comfortable, fast, extremely expandable with MultiMedia Card/Secure Digital and CompactFlash expansion slots, and overall has a nice sleek and contemporary design.
Weakness: The four function buttons are slightly akward to use because of their positioning, the 5-way navigation stick is a bit too sensitive, and synch settings take a while to get used to and configure.
Since this is a new unit, companies that make PDA accessories, like Belkin and Targus, don't quite offer alternative accessories to HP's available accessories. Despite this, I'd stick by my new iPAQ. Getting my PDA to synch with Outlook properly took about 2 days or so to sort out.
I had an old Handspring Visor back in January of last year, but I ended up accidentally breaking it two weeks after I got it. I'm going into my Junior year in HS, which everyone at my school says is very tough, so I had been considering buying a PDA to organize myself and keep myself organized. When I saw the review for the new PPC 2003-based PDAs in PC Magazine in July, I immediately knew what I wanted to get.
The 400MHz XScale processor is definitely zippy and the Pocket PC 2003 OS is organized well. I also find many of the little iPAQ utilities and the NEVO universal remote control to be fun to use. The Pocket PC version of Internet Explorer is a bit buggy though when it comes to sites with layers and Flash, like mine. And the "Fit To Screen" function isn't quite perfected yet so don't expect to do heavy web surfing.
What I'm really looking forward to is getting to use the integrated Bluetooth in the future with any sort of PAN I might have in like say 2 or 3 years from now. The stereo output with headphones definitely blew me away. I was astounded by the light weight of it. If I could, I'd buy all of my classmates this model and I'd get the school a fleet of Bluetooth network adapters.

TopStrengths: Small size easily fits in my pocket. Dual slots (CF and SD). adequate battery life for daily use. Nevo remote software.
Weakness: Small buttons for large fingers. No voice record buttons on unit.
A great unit overall. The processor is extremely fast for what I use it for; calender, task manager, news downloads, mp3 music, pictures, spreadsheets, etc. I only have to charge every 2-3 days. The dual slots allows me to use a memory expansion and still add a WIFI card!

TopStrengths: Dual expansion slots, Nevo Remote Control, standard headset jack, cradle which can charge device as well as an extra battery, removable battery, plenty of processing power and light weight
Weakness: Plastic casing isn't the most protective if dropped. I highly suggest getting a nice aluminum case. Usable ROM is only a wee bit above 5MB. Only enough for your contacts and appointments. No WiFi
Overall a great device. I looked at the HP 1945 also, but it didn't have the CF slot I needed since I used to own a Jornada. I have definitely found a lot of uses for having dual slots. Definitely a must if you like hardware devices like GPS, and the much lacking WiFi. Other then the weaknesses I listed the only minor drawback is the slow transfer speed of bluetooth. I believe it is only 1Megabit/sec maximum. So definitely not a replacement for streaming any media or viewing pages via sync connection. Just suck it up and buy a WiFi card. I have used my bluetooth to sychronize wirelessly, but is really only good for your database stuff, and not so much for large files. I love this device and definitely don't regret it. I am never at a lack of finding things for my device to use for entertainment or work.

The iPAQ 2210 and 2215 is big news. Why? The 2210/2215 is the first iPAQ with an integrated CF slot and SD slot, and at a relatively modest $399, it packs a lot of bang for the buck. It's also one of the first Pocket PC 2003 PDAs to hit the market. In fact, Microsoft is scheduled to officially announce the release of Pocket PC 2003 PDAs on June 23rd, but some 2210 and 2215's have hit the shelves...

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h2215 Pocket PC
Strengths: Dual Slot - Pocket PC 2003 - iPaq support community - Impressively fast - Easy to learn
Weakness: Rear speaker (what were they thinking?) - cheap nylon carrying case
This was my first mobile device, and I'm very happy with it. Very easy to learn the basics, and with the great forums and newsgroups out there, very easy to learn advanced topics. Simply put, there hasn't been a thing yet that I have wanted to do with it that I have not been able to figure out.
Highlights of the first 10 days: DivX Movies at a steady 30 FPS using MVP - Browse the Internet 30 feet away from PC using Bluetooth sync - Controlled several servers remotely using Terminal Services while connected via bluetooth to PC - Lotus Notes integration via Microsoft Connector for Lotus Notes - Setup SQL Server Merge Replication using SQL Server CE in order to track changes to DBs.
The only real knock against this model is the alleged short battery life. I bought an extra AC adapter for use at home - charging both at work and home, I've never been below 40% battery life even with heavy use at meetings or on the road.
If you're looking for a cheap replacement for your address book, buy a Palm. But, if you're looking to really get into mobile computing, I highly recommend the Pocket PC platform (especially 2003). The iPaq H2215 costs a little more than your basic entry level PPC, but you'll love the expansion capabilities, the speed, and the built in bluetooth.
Very highly recommended for beginners. Couldn't be much easier to start on or grow into. Do yourself a favor and buy a luxurious case to tote your new iPaq around in.
