Discussion of HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ hw6945 PDA
Posted Nov 4, 2006 - I had to return this and purchase the Treo 750v (UK version) branded by Vodafone. The HP iPAQ hw6945 has been a huge disappointment. I bought this to replace my hw6515 and out of the box it is slow and lags, you cannot adjust the memory allocation like the hw6515, so you have to live with the slowness. The Windows Mobile 5.0 Messaging and Security Feature Pack did not push my email in real-time. Had to manually hit Send/Receive. At least my hw6515 does SMS AUTD in close to real-time. The Wi-Fi was very unreliable. Excellent signal, but no connection. My TomTom Navigator 5 software will install (manually) but will not start the GPS receiver. The HP GPS software works fine, but is aweful compared to TomTom. Overall, big disappointment. Don't get stuck like me paying a 15% restocking fee almost $90. Also, I was shipped a replacement and had the same problems. Tried to call HP and kepted getting transferred to either Cingular or T-Mobile. I could not speak to someone at HP. Fix your automated support line. HP should properly test their products before releasing them.

Discussion of HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ rx1955 PDA
Posted Jun 4, 2006 - It does what I got it for. I didn't need blue tooth and I did want wi-fi. Works excellent for your normal PDA activities, calander, email, MP3 player and so on. My only complaint is it can run a little slow if you have too many programs running but it isn't top of the line, I guess you have to expect some things to run like its not. I had some initial problems with syncing. Turned out that it was more to do with my firewall than anything else. A patch from the internet and things were running fine. The customer support was not from India, but from Canada, which means they spoke English, which was nice. If you are looking for a basic Pocket PC but aren't looking to spend a whole lot of money, this will work for you.
Discussion of Palm TX Handheld PDA
Posted Jun 2, 2006 - I read in one review of the Palm TX that it doesn't sync with Groupwise. Does anyone know if that is accurate? Thanks.
