Excellent TV for the price

Strengths:

Great picture quality! Zenith made this TV with an easy to use interface that includes white washing. It also is able to hold specific video settings for each input.

Weaknesses:

I really have found no weaknesses with the display besides the remote not being able to go to a specific input on the press of a button. You have to cycle through them one by one.

Posted Feb 7, 2006 - I have not regretted the purchase of this TV. It is a great deal for the price with it being 50". The picture quality is amazing and the colors are just beautiful. It is very quiet and I cannot hear any cooling fans running at all. Everytime I watch a movie on it I am blown away and feel like I am in the theaters. Watched an IMAX movie marathon the other day on HD digital cable, absolutely beautiful. Standard definition looks kind of blocky however, maybe that's because the resolution is so poor coming from the cable company. Everything else though looks great including my XBOX. You could definitely say this plasma is just as good to others 1-2k more, I just can't get enough viewing in.

Zenith Z50PX2D - Pop goes the TV

Strengths:

When it worked, very nice set.

Weaknesses:

Gave out after 8 months. Just popped and the picture went out.

Posted Apr 3, 2008 - The Z50PX2D is great until it isn't. I was impressed with almost everything about it. But, one day, pop and all comes to a screetching halt. No picture and now a huge ordeal trying to get it fixed. STAY AWAY. Honestly, it's just a matter of time before it goes out on you. I've seen hundreds of reviews all over the web saying the same thing.

Don't Buy Zenith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted Jan 27, 2008 - Don't spend $2500 on this piece of crap. It won't even last 2 years! Everything you read about the "pop" is true. It's not worth the expense of having it fixed. One of the poorest products I've ever seen. Zenith should be ashamed about fleecing so many trusting consumers.

Posted Jan 10, 2008 - I had the tv about a year and half. Did the same thing as everybody else says. There was a loud pop and tv is worth nothing now. Repairman said it would cost between 1200-1500 to fix. Called Zenith would do nothing about it. They acted like they never heard of this. I know they have because most people say the same thing has happened. Do Not Buy!!!!
