Discussion of Westinghouse LVM-42W2 42" LCD TV
Posted Feb 15, 2007 - Sorry, i don't have much knowledge on hdtvs yet...so help me out please i have been reading a lot about this hdtv, and it looks great, and i am about to buy it. But i came across, saying that it is a monitor and not a tv? So does that mean i wont be able to connect this with regular cable to watch regular tv? I dont watch much tv anyways, but if i were to get this, i would still want that feature, although i would use it for watching dvds and gaming.

Posted Aug 23, 2006 - Very Strange, Westinghouse seems to have released a new firmware that is labeled as V1.00. It seems to fix the HDMI issues according to many users. Pics thanks to Nathan.

Posted Jul 14, 2006 - Has anyone else encountered the screen turning very red while switching from one aspect ratio to another? If I turn it on and off the problem is fixed.

Posted Jul 13, 2006 - Taken from a post by Peter S "Alright, in order to get the latest FW for your LVM-42w2 you need to call: (866) 287-5555 - Westinghouse Technical Support. You need to inform them that you are having a "Power Lock-up" issue with your set and that your current Firmware is X.XX. You have been informed that the latest Firmware 1.19 corrects this issue and that you would like to be updated to the latest Firmware. They SHOULD take your information and have someone contact you from one of their Third-Party support organizations (such as IAI) to arrange a time to COME TO YOU to check out the set and perform the upgrade. Again, there are two important points here: 1) Customer Service is aware of the issue as a Power Lock-Up issue. 2) Someone will be sent to your location to update your set on-site. Please pass along this information to everyone. I am sure that once Tech Support begins to hear from everyone on the site, that they will get better and better at dealing with this quickly. If you do not receive the answer you were looking for, please, ask to speak to a manager and to schedule a time to have someone come out to your location to check on the set."

Posted Mar 7, 2006 - I viewed the 32" at best buy and it was beautiful. Noticeable sharper than the units around it. Now they have a 42" WOW!!
