Sharp LC26D40U

Strengths: Great picture, sound, and features. Very attractive "T. Kita" design. Built-in ATSC tuner.

Weakness: None except that I can't control all the functions on my pioneer DVD from the TV's remote.

I've had this TV for two weeks and I am very pleased with it. It was very easy to set up. It's the perfect size for the bedroom and picks up the high definition stations right out of the box after connecting it to the antenna and autoscanning. The lighted remote control is a plus and it has more than enough inputs.

A picture that lives up to it's name

Strengths: excellent picture from all inputs: standard video, HD, and DVD, very good sound with simulated 3D, easy set up, bright enough for well-lit room

Weakness: nothing major, stand does not tilt, on-screen munus sometimes hard to understand.

This TV exceeds expectations. The case is a very stylish black, the picture and sound are super, and the number of input and output is large and well thought out. You can put this to work in combination with just about any other device you can think of. It worked perfectly right out of the box and is a hit with the whole family.

Resonable quality as a second TV in the home

Strengths: Easy to setup, easy to control, good stylish design

Weakness: No PIP, No computer input, switching channels takes a long time

10 minutes out of the box it's standing there and showing us good quality pictures. Very easy to setup and control. I have heard too many good things about this model, now I will list what I found not very satisfatory:
1. Remote control is big however, buttons are small, not sure why we need that many buttons
2. There is no PIP Or comptuer input connector.
3. When you turn it on, it takes a while before showing you the picture
4. When switching channels, it takes a long time before the next channel's picture showing up, during that, the screen is completely black, kinding annoying when you want to surf channels.
5. If you change the backlight of the LCD, once it's below 12 (default is 16), you hear a current noise even when it's on mute. Very annoying and I thought the TV was bad. Now I keep it at 13.

Not sure if 3 and 4 are common to LCD TV's, this is the first LCD TV I have.

You should probably know what you're talking about before you spout. This monitor does have a computer hookup if you have a high end video card.

It's called high definition multimedia interface or HDMI for short.

We love it -- Sharp LC26D40U

Strengths: Great picture and sound quality, stylish and very useful built-in QAM and ATSC tuner. Perfect for our study room.

Weakness: no weakness so far.

We bought it a week ago for our study room. My wife and I like to watch something (sports, movie, news etc) while we are working or surfing internet. The most important thing about this LCD TV is the built-in QAM tuner. We subscribe basic analog cable TV and we get all clear(unscrambled) digital and HD channels (all local HD channels plus Discovery HD, TNT HD, HDNet, INHD and Universal HD etc) with the QAM tuner. We love picture and sound quality of the HD channels on this LCD TV. It also have a lot of interfaces/inputs we haven't used. We will connect DVD and Gaming console to it later.

Sharp Aquos

Strengths: Nice pictures, sleek design

Weakness: Remote too big

Setup was easy as the manual was layout very well. I just have to install the base with a few screws and plug in my dvd player, vcr player and cable line. Everything worked fine and no problems. The TV has 4 audio-video inputs which makes it so convenience to have a few players plug-in. I am very satisfied with the product and should have brought one a long time ago.

sharp TV 26"

Strengths: picture quality

Weakness: screen size

sharp product have all ways look good and when I want to hang my TV in my skylight, the opening was limited to 30"
The 26" Sharp fit just fine and the color black was great.
I have 32" wide screen in my workout room and a smaller
sharp in my kitchen. I love sharp products, but I also have
a 50" plasma in my sitting room. Thanks for sharp product, comes sharp minds ... i love it

Great HD TV

Strengths: Wonderful picture and great sound. I have not noticed pixilation with fast moving objects such as with sports. I love watching sporting events with it, especially NFL football.

Weakness: Not many. It would be nice if the stand swiveled.

I would purchase this TV again. I own a Sharp Aquos 32" LCD TV from two years ago and bought a 26" for my parents last year. The picture on both of these TVs is still spectacular.
I compared the LC-26D40U with Samsung and Sharp and concluded you can't get a better TV for the money. Excellent TV for $600!

Great TV

Strengths: Crisp, sharp picture. Very easy to operate. I have only opened the manual once, to show my husband that he should have searched for channels on cable rather than air.

Weakness: It seems to take a long time to switch from channel to channel

The QAM tuner is the best kept secret around. With this tuner, you can get all the local HD tv through analog cable, without subscribing to digital cable. It's absolutely wonderful!
