Strengths:3 HDMI inputs, Full 1080p, No banding or ghosting, TONS of inputs, Optical light sensor. GREAT blacks.
Weaknesses:Useless Remote, Speakers could have been better, No PIP (not a big issue), slow switching between inputs.
Posted Oct 19, 2007 - For the price, this TV is excellent investment, where ever you buy it. I have not noticed any banding issues with it whatso ever. The initial TV setting out of the box needs a little tuning, depending on your personal taste (like contrast and color....extremely easy). The HD picture looks simply jaw dropping. I say this because I connected a PS3 to it and played a Blue ray disc at full 1080p.Regular TV (Digital) looks good on this TV too, but not upclose due to the resolution (not the TV's fault).
The speakers could have been a little better, but they are ok none the less. Speakers are loud enough and do simulated Surround.
The black border on the TV really makes it look very sleek.
I have tried the light sensor on this TV and it works great. There are 2 optical light sensors on the front panel and they detect the amount of light in the room and adjust the brightness accordingly. You have to ENABLE this feature in the Menu. I tried this at night and than put a flashlight in front of the sensor and it adjusted the screen contract and brightness.
One thing you have to remember when you get a mount for this TV is that it does not have the edge mounts, but rather the mounts are very close to the center of the TV. This is NON ISSUE when mounting, but if you plan to TILT the TV too often then you will need to shove your arm all the way to the center of back of TV to losen the screw. Most people dont tilt their TV's more than a couple of times a year.....just for minor adjustments.
I have trouble peeling myself off the couch when I am watching this TV :)
