Strengths: The tv gives you a nice quality picture, sharp vivid colors and viewing from all angles. It also has a swivel base for convience with viewing from different places. The tv was easy to set up.
Weakness: So far I have not encountered any problems or concerns.
I highly recommend this tv. All our local HD TV stations and local analog channels come in great with only a basic antennae(nothing but 2 rabbit ears). The picture is clear and the colors are sharp and bright. We also have satelite tv which comes in great too.

TopStrengths: great picture quality. good looking remote. 3 HDMI. Almost as good as more expensive samsung. Got it for about $1020 only for a 42".
Weakness: nothing so far.
Spent a whole day comparing picture quality and price in local circuit city and bestbuy. Originally planning to get a 42" VIZIO but then comparing the PQ side by side with brands like Samsung, Toshiba and Panasonic, vizio was mediocre. Thosiba was almost as goos as the Samsung that was kept next to it and panasonic was not that good. so decided to go with Toshiba since it was almost 300 cheaper than samsung. After it was delivered easy to setup. I used to get about 4 good quality and 4 okay quality channels before with my 27" philips flat CRT tube TV. I use DB2 HDTV Antenna from antennasdirect.com. when i connected the same antenna to this Toshiba and did scan I get 11 HD channels (with their corresponding non-HD) and 2 more regular. All over the air. Thats good entertainment. I dont have a cable or satellite so I don't know how the PQ is with those signals but with OTA HD its just awesome. shows the HD signal strength which gives a good guide to see where keep the antenna.

My fiance and I searched for a while for a good flat panel. After we decided on LCD over plasma, we then reviewed specific sets. After looking over reviews of many TVs, we decided this was the best value (quality for price) and purchased it from Butterflyphoto.com. We received the TV in 4 or 5 business days and it has been great. We now get to watch the Yankees on HD and look - they've been coming out of their slump! =)

After much product research and store viewing of 42 in. LCD HD TV in 768 range, found this Toshiba 42HL67 an excellent choice both technically and within decent price points. HD pictures are outstanding, sound quality is very good and can easily be enhanced with external sound system.

I compared this unit to many at the local store, It had an amazing picture, (3) HDMI inputs, My viewing area gets flooded with sunlight. I usually have to close all the blinds to watch TV in the daytime, not with this TV, the picture is bright and no glare from lights. I'm very happy with the Toshiba quality, we have a 20" LCD that's about 3 years old and love it.

Weakness: short on analog inputs
This replaced a rear projection of the same screen size. I find this picture very sharp. My room has lots of natural light during the day and the picture looks very good anytime of day or night. My old set didn't look as good during the day as this one does. The set has rich sound for typical watching but I it run through my AV receiver for movies. For me it is a little short on rear old style (composite) inputs. I was able to do what I wanted to using the side inputs. There are 2 extra HDMI and 2 extra component so if I add a cable box/DVR I will have no problems. I like the way the channels and inputs can be labeled. It has predefined choices or you can create your own from the remote. The menus are easy to navigate. I have basic cable and live in a large city. I was happily surprised that the tuner picks up the local HD channels over the air without an antenna. I have been happy with the picture out of the box...I have not had to make any adjustments.

I have had this TV for a month now, and I must say it is the best HD TV I have owned for the money. You just cant beat the value when it comes to this name brand set. Toshiba Regza has proven to me that their set in this class really outperforms every other set I looked at in every metric. The picture is stunning, especially using HDMI cables for DVD and XBOX360. The remote could use an upgrade, and if you want a really good sound experience I would upgrade the stock speakers. However they are acceptable out of the box for every day viewing.

TopStrengths: May be found for below comparable Samsung and Sony units, Aesthetics are tough to beat, Advanced picture tweaks, Good remote, QAM/ATSC/NTSC, Decent PC quality.
Weakness: None particular to this unit, but the same deficiencies inherent to all LCD HDTVs.
First of all, when purchasing a new flat panel HDTV, one must make the choice between plasma and lcd. There are no right answers but given your personal anticipated needs, there is usually a more logical choice; mine was lcd for a variety of reasons I will not go into (You can search for pros/cons elsewhere).
Once I made the decision to purchase an LCD, the next step was to evaluate my specific needs; the 42hl67 was a perfect fit. It does 720p which given my viewing distance was more than enough. If you require 1080p then the Toshiba 42HL167 is your answer.
This television straddles the border in price between the high-end Sony/LG/Samsung sets and the more economical Vizios/Olevias/etc. However, in terms of picture quality and functionality, it is on par with the big boys costing hundreds more. The settings out of the box are not optimal, but some patient tweaking will give you a picture that you will fall in love with.
Aesthetically, the television is gorgeous with a piano black border and slim fit speakers. PC inputs are adequate via VGA but I plan on trying out a DVI-->HDMI in the near future as that apparently is even better.
If you're interested in this set, search around for a store that stocks it and test it out. I think you'll find as I did that this is the best bang-for-the-buck 720p LCD HDTV on the market today.

Strengths: Lots of input choices, quality picture in HD, printed manual, stand
Weakness: Remote control (cheaper than cheap universal remote controls in market), screen size changes between analog and digital channels, no cables included
Overall I am very happy with the TV. I have had it for over a week. This is my first HD TV and so I had some expectations. Many of them are met but not all! I hooked up regular DVD player to video in input and the quality is great. Have not connected component or HDMI inputs yet but over-the-air and cable HD picture quality is great and so I am sure picture will even look better with upcovert DVD players.
Remote is worst part of all but there are cheaper universal remotes in the market and so I can live with it but this is disappointing from a good company like Toshiba and when you pay @ $1350 for a TV.
Tuner is good with respect to tuning over the air HD channels as well as from local analog cable but it tuned lots of channels with no pictures. I had to manually disable them. Not having an easy way to add/delete using remote is also a minus in this area.
Overall picture quality is great but one thing I have not yet figured out is how to keep the screen size stretched to full screen. This works fine for most analog signal but when I switch to HD (digital signal) it goes back to black bars on right/left of the picture even though I had selected full screen stretch. This is annoying since I have to constantly change the setting. Remote comes in handy for screen size setting but only with their cheap remote (for universal I need to go to "menu" and select correct option).

There is a big difference between a digital signal, which will give you left and right black bars, and a HD signal, which will not give you the bars. In order to get a full size screen, the camera used by the broadcaster must be shot and broadcast in High Definition.
Not all programming is shot in high definition currently.
Strengths: Very easy to set up with cable box and a dvd/vcr combo. Has the best picture I've ever seen. Remote isn't needed if you have cable(only to change modes from different inputs)Hd channels look like 3d.
Weakness: Not enought hd channels on my system. So far no negatives.(Consumer reports has this tv as a best buy)
The stand is a bit flimsy but it works. Its weighs about 75 pounds but is easy to carry. I find it the best picture compared to samsung/Sharp/ etc. I love it

Great looking set. The sound is better than I expected. Unfortunately, the picture is MUCH worse than I expected. The SD channels (the majority of the channels I get) are borderline unwatchable

TopStrengths: Plenty of inputs of every kind, Superior picture from any source. Audio is outstanding with low and high range.
Weakness: Remote is cheep and not practical to use. However, I would not hesitate for a second to buy or recommend this TV because of price and performance otherwise.
This TV exceeded my expectations. The picture is simply crystal clear and bright (will give you a headache at night unless you down turn down the backlight). The colors are rich and blacks are very good. I would put it up against any tv twice its price. The audio especially from HD sources is out standing as well. Digital Tuner is bringing in incredible HD broadcast signals from local stations...this was the best suprise of all. Looks cool too.

I highly recommend this LCD TV because of the excellent image quality for the price. The glossy piano black bezel makes the set looks very attractive even though it would be much nicer if the bezel is a little bit thinner. The picture is extremely crisp, the screen is very bright and clear. The setup procedure is very intuitive and easy to use. The stand that it comes with is very sturdy and easy to connect. Quality of non-HD content is OK but with HD it is stunning.

This is the second television I have purchesed from Beach Camera. They are really great; it came in 3 days! The Toshiba 42HL67 has agreat HD picture, but it does require some adjustments from channel to channel (this may be true of many HD sets - I am no expert). But for the money, you can't go wrong.

This TV is up to Toshiba Quality. Worked great right out of the box with only a few adjustments. Spent several days compairing picture quality and clarity at several stores. The TV is beautiful, nice frame, easy to hook up, few simple adjustments and wallah. I am a very happy camper.

The Regza 42HL67 is part of Toshibas 2007 lineup of LCD high-def televisions, and falls on the entry-level side of their offerings, and in the middle road of LCDs in general. I have this unit for more than 2 weeks. So far, there is no problem. It is very easy to hook up everything. The sound is excellent. With some adjustment of the picture mode (brightness, contrast, color, etc..), the picture becomes perfectly clear. The design is better than some other brands. The price is even better than some 40" LCD.
