Hitachi P42H401 42" Plasma TV

Pretty in Plasma!

Posted Nov 14, 2007 - I've had this TV for a few weeks now and I love it! It looks and sounds great, all with an energy star rating to boot! I would recommend this TV to anyone looking for a bargain. All of my guests think it looks great. Cheers!

Awesome Plasma!!!

Posted Oct 17, 2007 - What a deal for a 42inch Plasma for under $750!!Great color and has nice curb appeal. This TV is huge!! I had to rearrange the living room! Cant wait for Directv to come out and install the HD service!! I know the picture will be totally awesome then.

Pretty good

Posted Oct 17, 2007 - I bought this for $749+tax, so for that price, it was a great deal. The television is nice overall, good color, inputs, etc. The resolution is a bit non-standard - it is actually 1024x1080. Otherwise, there are many inputs (including 3 hdmi) and the price was excellent.

Hitachi 42 inch plasma TV

Posted Aug 6, 2007 - We bought this because it was priced very well and the picture quality was good. It came with a stand and has a simple, clean look. it was easy to set up right out of the box.

Great TV

Posted Aug 7, 2007 - Overall, very happy with the purchase. I'm struggling between LCD or Plasma, however, the price justified my final choise. As for the black level, this TV is not the best, especially in room with too much light.

Great HDTV

Posted Nov 23, 2007 - Gr8 TV for the price. My first HDTV and I could not be much happier. For the price, you can not beat this plasma HDTV with 1080p resolution.Highly recommended.

Hatachi 42' Plasma

Posted 1 year ago - All I can say is Wow, Wow, Wow. I do not have cable/direct tv. I use a HD antenna and you can deffinently see the quality in the hdtv. All my frends that have seen it or watched tv or movie have the same response -- Wow, Wow, Wow. Hatachi HD RULES!!!!!

Great TV

Posted Dec 15, 2007 - This is a great TV for the price. The overall picture quality is stunning, especially with HD DVD and/or upconverting dvd player. Sears had this t.v. on sale the week before Thanksgiving for $750.00. I regret not buying two as the price has come back up.

Hitachi P42H401 42

Posted Dec 5, 2007 - This is my first plasma set, and I love it. The price was great and the performance is not disappointing. I have paired it with an upconverting DVD player and find the picture quality to be excellent when watching DVDs. I don\\\\\\\'t have HD cable, so cannot comment on that quality. That said, picture quality with standard cable leaves much to be desired. The factory presets are not optimal and if you select the option to reset the defaults, this will help the picture quality significantly. I\\\\\\\'ve taken to wall-mounting my unit, as the included base is very lightweight and flimsy. One thing to remember: there is a master power switch hidden underneath the TV set. The first set that was delivered was believed to be defective... when the delivery guys brought the 2nd set and couldn\\\\\\\'t switch it on, they were ready to haul it off until I figured out that there was a hidden switch. Odd design that probably costs Hitachi lots of $$ in returned units, but this happens to be a great plasma set which I highly recommend!

Unbeatable performance at this price range!

Posted Nov 26, 2007 - Great price for a 42" Plasma. Picked it up recently... the picture quality rivals that of more expensive ones of same size. Sure its not 1080P... but the picture is beautiful 1080i even. The colors are very natural and not exaggerated, and none of the common issues like motion-blur, SDE are minimal if at all. So far so good!

Hitachi Plasma

Posted Nov 20, 2007 - After shopping the market I selected the Hitachi based on its reasonable price, ultra modern look and sharp picture. Used with cable the picture sometimes is less than perfect but movies are sharp and crisp.

Wonderful Plasma

Posted Nov 11, 2007 - I've had this plasma for a little over a month so far and it's a great TV. For anyone looking to upgrade from an older tube TV, this is the TV for you. For the hardcore television/gamers I wouldn't recommend this TV as there are other ones out there with a better picture but for the price you can get this TV, it is a bargain, especially for a replacement to an older television. This was my first flat panel TV and I am loving it so far.

not the best but good enough for me

Posted Nov 10, 2007 - the color is not as impressive as the other top brand 1080 plasma sitting next to this one in the store, black is not really deep but contrast is strong, base is flimsy if it is not mounted, color of remote control does not go with the tv itself

Posted Oct 20, 2007 - We had been debating between purchasing a plasma or lcd television. We were sold on this plasma television because of the price and the good picture. Also that it was a name brand. I would definitely recommend this television.

Posted Oct 14, 2007 - This is the best value for a brand name 42" plasma. For $400 or more less than other brand names, you hardly notice the difference in picture quality unless you compare it next to each other. The only thing you really notice is the black color, but that doesn't really bother me. I still love this TV. Highly recommanded for this price!!
