Good little TV

Strengths: nice picture, good tuner (it found more digital channels than other TVs in the house), excellent size for our bedroom

Weakness: sound hisses when viewing the digital channels (go to volume 1 and then mute it and you will see the difference), menu is a bit rudimentar.

I like the set, although I think I should have waited a bit more so that the technology will settle.

I like the picture of the TV and it shows great reception capabilities. The menu should give more options and twicks.

Connecting it to the computer does not give full resolution on this TV.

Exceptional Value

Strengths: Excellent picture quality, plenty of connection options, nice remote

Weakness: None so far

This is my second Vizio HD Tv (42" 1080i) and have nothing but praise for the brand. Picture quality is tremendous even from sharp angles. The remote is very detailed with well positioned buttons. The menu system is well thought out and provides quite a bit of options for customization.

Overall a quality, high-performance set. Would definitely recommend.

Great Picture

Strengths: Great picture quality, easy to set up, good organization for remote control

Weakness: None yet

This LCD was very easy to set up. I used the wall mount in my kitchen. It is a great size for a smaller room. It was very easy to mount and set up the TV for use. The picture quality was superior in my comparison at Circuit City. The remote is very logical and the buttons are of adequate size. It allows to select channels and change many options. I now have access to many additional channels. I would purchase this LCD again.

Vizio, my cute little bedroom buddy

Strengths: Excellent picture quality, All possible interfaces (inputs), Excellent manual and best price. Butons in remote are nicely positioned and makes easier to switch various input modes.

Weakness: Interfaces in the back are arranged very close to the back panel and removing/putting signal connector could be difficult for big hands (like me). Sound quality lacks bass.

Excellent size makes it suitable for bedroom / kitchen. Great picture quality (does not have any issues when viewed at angles). Bass could have been better. Connector positioning at the back could have been done better. One more HDMI input for connecting game consoles and DVD player would have been great help.

Very Nice HD-TV For The Price

Strengths: Very easy to set up, tuner scan found extra HD channels, very good picture quality, nice design.

Weakness: P-I-P doesn't allow 2 cable channels to be viewed w/o a separate cable box/tuner using either the HDMI or Component input.

I brought this set for a bedroom/office to replace a 12 year old Sony 13" TV. It is a manufacturer-refurbished model, and I did have some concerns. However, the TV arrived in 2 business days, one of which was a national holiday so the standard shipping delivery time was excellent.(I ordered it on Saturday afternoon, and it arrived Tuesday morning)
The TV looks brand new, with a few very minor surface scratches on the black trim around the screen which I believe was from the packing material. You have to get at a certain angle to see them so not a big deal.
I connected the Cox cable directly to the DTV RF input and did the scan. I'm now getting all of the local stations in HD and a couple of non-local HD stations that I wasn't expecting. Channel labeling would be a nice feature as all I know of the channel is from the logos in the lower corner of the screen.
The picture setup was easy and the picture quality is very good. I'm using the Standard setting, and the only adjustments I made were on the Backlight, which I lowered to 70. The audio was okay after adjusting the Bass up a bit. It's acceptable sound, but what can you truly expect from a couple of small speakers.
All in all I'm very pleased with the purchase transaction and with the Vizio TV. I'll definitely consider them if and when a new TV is needed in the future, assuming the long-term reliability lives up to my expectations.

great option for kitchen HD LCD

Strengths: clarity, color controls, integrated tuner

Weakness: could use some more HDMi inputs, glossy black bezel reflects too much light

Bought this unit for a kitchen HD LCD and love it so far. For its small size it displays a beautiful HD image via HDMI. Sound could be a bit beefier but I might need to adjust the audio options a bit more. Lots of menu and tweaking options. So far a wonderful HD unit for a great price. Just wished they used a matte finish instead of glossy (I hate its reflective nature). Will definitely look into more VIZIO's in the future.

Great TV with a great price!!!!

Strengths: Easy set up, great picture quality, easy to navigate menue, all the input source you need

Weakness: only 1 HDMI

I brought this for a great price 259, as a refurbised. I've always have good exprience with refurbished item (keep my fingers crossed).

This is my first HDTV, and really didn't know what to expect in turns picture quality and antenna set up. Set up for easy and the picture quality is great!!

Brought it for the kitchen, and it's perfect size. I would seriously consider getting a bigger sceen TV from this maker for the living room when I'm ready for that plunge!!!

Great TV and PC monitor!

Strengths: Lots of extras for the price! Love the PIP when using as a PC monitor. EASY EASY setup, best graphic guide I've seen!

Weakness: Haven't found any.

My hobby room doubles as an office and a guest room and space is a real issue. The 20" Vizio sits on my desk and is used daily as a PC monitor - as well as a TV. I no longer need a separate TV in the room. When guests arrive, I pull out my EZ bed in its attached suitcase, pull the Vizio to the front of the desk and turn it toward the bed.

It's so much fun to watch TV in the resizable PIP while surfing the internet, and you can bring up the program guide and change channels while in PIP mode. Just a touch on the remote changes instantly to full screen TV or back to the PC. Audio changes from PIP to main TV screen with another button. TV and monitor can both be changed to various screen views (for monitor: normal and wide).

I am hooked to Dish network via a dual DVR/HD receiver in the living room. With this setup Vizio is "TV 2" and does not get the High Definition -- but I am extremely pleased with the digital channel pictures. The others are not quite as good but definitely useable. So I have decided not to get a separate receiver box for this TV. Considering how good my picture is already, it must really be spectacular with the HD connection.

Another plus - I did not know anyone using a TV as a full time PC monitor and worried about text resolution and the possibility of headaches. Not to worry! Works just great, I forget it's a TV.

For setup there is a GREAT 2-sided guide on a huge foldout sheet. It has a chart with graphics showing every possible setup. I have NO experience and could follow it easily. I did have to call Dish to re-establish Vizio as "TV-2" from my receiver but that was all.
I bought my set at Circuit City $399 (not on sale). Considering all the features, its a real bargain at that price!

What kind of connection between PC and TV. HDMI, DVI or VGA?

Connection is RGB (TV to computer). The computer is 6+ years old. When I get a new computer the connection may change.
