Panasonic + Plasma = Satisfaction
Picture. All around quality impresses everyone from videophiles to family. Panasonic brand and service.
A little slow to come on.
Posted Oct 12, 2007 - Our TV showed up and was wonderful. 4 days later we had terrible solarization problems. The picture was nearly unwatchable! To me this was an excellent thing because it gave me an opportunity to experience truly excellent customer support. All Panasonics apparently come with Panasonic's Plasma Concierge service. No waiting on hold. Knowledgeable staff. And they had a repairman on site within 48 hours and that repairman went ahead and replaced most of the boards in the TV just to make sure the problem did not re-occur. He wouldn't even accept a tip as he said he was a Panasonic employee and that was enough! Great service aside the TV looks great. I looked long and hard for a great HDTV and this has met all my expectations. I am exceptionally pleased with how well it handles Standard Definition TV. Coming from a tube TV I often found that some of the nicest LCD HDTVs had lacking Standard TV images. Also after doing a great deal of research I found that though LCDs seem to be all the rage these days, Plasmas offer better pictures, better prices, and all the bad things people spout out about plasma TVs are mostly myths (they last just as long as any other TV and no longer have burn-in problems). I also think this TV is really easy to use. Everything is simple, everything makes sense and I think it would be a great TV for people who are not super tech savvy. In this same respect I think the remote control is actually rather nice. To me I would call its heaviness a feeling of sturdiness and quality. Lastly the TV is beautiful and I highly suggest mounting it on the wall to really show it off. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone looking to enter the world of HDTV.
