I've had the Phillips 42pf99563 plasma HDTV for 2 weeks now and i could not be happier!! The picture is amazing. HD programs are dazzling and DVD movies(with a progressive scan DVD) come to life!! I purchased mine at Sam's club in PA. I paid $2499 for it. This is hundreds, if not thousands of dollars below retail price! I also purchased the Phillips HTS3410D home theater. I swear that home theater sounds just as good as a pricier Bose system! Together they create the ultimate home and video entertainment system. Overall: 8 out of 10!

Picture is real life.
Strengths: Picture quality is life like. The case for the plasma TV is very attractive. HDTV is great recommend a signal conditioner.
Weakness: Takes about 5 sec. to turn on? This maybe standard with all plasmas? Not sure. It is hard to dust under the stand. Need a long duster or to hang on wall.
I bought this TV from Sam's club who had it on display for $1900 so it was working around the clock instore for 6 months, or that's what they told me, Still under warranty Philips had a rep take the plasma to inspect a do a complete cleaning free of charge. Been working now for 6 months with no problems. Picture is comparable to some of the 10,000 to 1 contrast of Samsung and Panasonic.
