2 Star Review Sharp is still just Sharp

Strengths:

price, number and location of inputs

Weaknesses:

where to start?

Posted May 11, 2008 - Well, you know if you experienced Sony before, this one is just a joke. However- you get what you pay for. I guess I better stop right here. I had to buy one more LCD and didn't need to get one more Bravia. But listen up, stop misleading people, it is just a cheap Sharp.

2 Star Review Response to kilammisa

Strengths:

Slimmest formfactor

Weaknesses:

SD is not satisfactory

Posted Dec 3, 2007 - I read the review written by kilammisa and found to be very convincing. I could also see the TV dimming and brightening. The changes were noticeable. But I couldn't notice it while watching my Dish network channels. I noticed this behavior while watching DVDs. Also, I noticed another new behavior. I could see cross lines during day time transmission. But during nights, everything looks fine. I am not sure if this is a problem with Dish Network transmission or the TV itself. My reviews are totally based on SD channels. I still don't have HD channels. Please follow up my thread if someone else has noticed something similar.

Weaknesses:

Posted Nov 24, 2007 - This sharp is a very good tv for its price. I bought this Sharp 46d64u for $1000 on black Friday. I hooked it up but i dont have any HD channels so the picture is not that great right now and for some reason i cannot figure out why this tv dims and then brightens when i change the channels. it also dims when a dark picture appears and then you cant see anything so if anyone knows how to fix this problem please reply to this thread. Thanks.

5 Star Review Sharp Aquos LC46D64U

Strengths:

Very thin and light cabinet, low power consumption, HDMI 1.3 inputs, great HD picture quality, very good SD picture quality.

Weaknesses:

Audio is weak, remote control could be better.

Posted Oct 13, 2007 - The PQ of HD sources is excellent, SD is very good. The audio is the weakest link of this TV just as all other TV's, but who would seriously watching movies on the flat panel HDTV without a real surround audio ? This TV is in my bedroom for watching local HD and SD channels, for movies we have LC52D64U in family room with 7.1 channels surround system.

5 Star Review Excellent 46

Strengths:

3 HDMI inputs, very thin, PC input

Weaknesses:

SD Looks washed out, but with directv you will have over 150 HD channels early next year, no need for SD anymore.

Posted Sep 30, 2007 - Overall this is an excellent TV, No banding issues on this new 2007 model. This TV is very thing and doesn't weigh near the older 46 model. I am very happy with the purchase, the TV is worth every penny.

4 Star Review AQUOS LC-46D64U 46" LCD TV (Widescreen, 1920x1080, 2000:1, HDTV

Strengths:

Great color reproduction, VGA input, Super thin, Side inputs

Weaknesses:

non 120hz model

Posted Sep 29, 2007 - This LCD really shines. The blacks and darker colars are sharp and retain an lot of detail that is lost on a lot of LCD's. I have looked at and bought a cheaper LCD in the past, but once you compare them next to a set like this you realize how much better the picture can be. I have the 52" version too and like it every bit as much.

Posted Sep 28, 2007 - Purchased the 46 at a very good price. I am very happy with the quality and color of the set. Easy to set up and was watching it within 5 minutes. Sleek design without any bulging speakers that stand out.

4 Star Review Sharp's New Slim Line LCD

Strengths:

Slim, light, beautiful

Weaknesses:

Banding still exist

Posted Sep 21, 2007 - Sharing style with the old 62U series, this one actually looks much better in person. It is slimmer, thinner and lighter. 46" only weighs around 60lbs which is amazing. The silver line under the curve doesn't look cheap any more as in 62U series. 1080p sources are stunning. Sound is like most LCDs and a good home theater system is recommended. Unfortunately, mine still shows light to medium banding under light background. I guess I'll exchange it and wish me luck!

4 Star Review AQUOS LC-46D64U

Strengths:

AMAZING CLARITY!! Build Qulaity and connection availiblity (multiple HDMI and component inputs)

Weaknesses:

No cover for stand opening when wall mounting. No Media card readers for picture slideshows.

Posted Sep 18, 2007 - This was placed in my gameroom and I have fallen in love with the smoothness and the clarity of the picture. I replaced a CRT so any improvement was worth it but this TV exceeded my expectations. Overall I would rate this 4 stars out of 5. Compared to the other TVs I compoared in this price range, I feel that this television has the clearest picture for the money and I will recommend to my friends.

5 Star Review A Happy Owner of A Great Product

Strengths:

1080P native resolution + HD camcorder = endless fun HDTV looks better too.

Weaknesses:

A bit weak on SD content. Not receiving all HDTV channels throuh cable

Posted Sep 16, 2007 - This is definitely one of the best 1080p TV on the market. I have been using Panasonic plasma's for many many years, since I always saw better picture on plasma than on LCD. The sharp changed my view totally. Both color satuation and contrast are comparable with the best plasma. However, it's much lighter, and there is no "burn-in" issues. I use it with my HV20 HD cancorder, the picture quality is much better than 768p plasma. On the down side, it looks not as good when recieving SD TV content. Also, cannot receive all the HDTV channels through cable, compared to my current panasonic with cable card.
